    Chocolate Banana Martini

Kyle's bar masterpiece today...dreaming of a Chocolate Banana Martini with a Cannoli crusted rim......simply amazing.

I took my brother here for a quiet birthday lunch. It is a nice restaurant, but seems a little dated inside. The service was friendly, but slow. The food though was delicious. I had the pollo limone and my brother had the pollo basilica. The serving sizes are perfect; enough to fill your stomach and satisfy you, but not enough for leftovers. My brother also received a complimentary, birthday tiramisu. The dinner menu is pricey, but the lunch menu is more reasonable. We will definitely visit for lunch again.

Ambience is nice but casual, and staff is friendly. Grilled octopus appetizer was really tasty and cooked to perfection - tender and amazing. The ravioli had a unique sauce with bits of walnut that gave it good texture. Tiramisu was yummy and light. The sauce was a little thin for the Alfredo but the noodles were perfect, and the pasta portion for the Chicken Parm was a bit small compared to other plates. We will come again and try some new things!

Delicious food, great service and awesome wine and drink selections. Couldn't ask for more!

Ravioli stuffed with a walnut & ricotta combo is on the left. Salmon & linguine in vodka sauce on the right.

Are we able to make a reservation? If so, is it recommended?

Yes, reservations can be made on the phone. And I would recommend reservations as the restaurant is terrific and always in demand.

Will you bring an order out to my car if I pay over the phone and park right in front of the entrance? I'm Recovering from foot surgery, walking is difficult, carrying things while walking is extremely difficult.

    Yes we will!

    Do you deliver locally?

We do through door dash and grub hub. If you have a larger order call and ask for Sal and we can accommodate big deliveries in Antioch. :)

They recognized early that Richmond sits on a corridor of movement--Chicago flowing north toward Lake Geneva, that Midwestern analogue to the Riviera--and made a legitimate attempt to create a stop where people could sit down, slow down, and share a meal. I still remember my first visit, back when Paisano's had maybe five tables. I was seated next to none other than Dan Rostenkowski, then Speaker of the House. That moment captured something about the place: it aspired to be part of a broader, more connected world than Richmond typically experiences. The concept has always been clear--family-style, approachable Italian, positioned as a step above casual dining. And to their credit, they've maintained consistency over the years. That said, the food itself lands squarely in the "acceptable" category. Not offensive, not memorable--reliably mediocre. It satisfies the requirement of a meal without ever quite justifying a detour. Yet here's the reality: within a five-mile radius, Paisano's remains the only place where you can reasonably take someone on a sit-down date without apology. That alone gives it staying power. Paisano's isn't trying to be extraordinary--and it doesn't quite get there. But it filled a vacuum when it arrived, and in many ways, it still does.

We had heard they were busy, many times with wait times. So we were surprised. The ambiance is really nice, A really nice Italian dinner restaurant. I started with an Old Fashioned and it was one of the better ones I have had. They really nailed it. There are a couple on their menu so I was sure to say "not the one with soda/selter". That a Wisconsin one :) We asked if the Caesar was large enough to split to start. They said yes. Great. There were 3 tables filled so it was finally not empty. Not sure why the bar seating was empty- looked like a great place to sit too. After ten minutes we gave our order, Chicken Piccata for my wife and I had the Pork Chop special. The waiter didn't come by and we didn't get our salad. He was busy making drinks for one larger party (the 4th table). Finally our entree's came. I asked what happened to our salad. He looked confused. I reminded him we asked if it was large enough to split and we would start with it. He was genuinely sorry. It happens. Then we ate the entree's. My wife's Chicken was flavorful and served hot. It was very good. My pork chop was closer to room temp rather than hot. The flavor was really good. Unfortunately I have a thing about eating my food hot, not on the cold side. I told the waiter. He was sorry and asked if he could have them heat it up. I passed .... Didn't want dryer food while my wife ate alone. The manager came over and insisted it didn't sit at the window. Not sure WHY he wanted to argue this point. I offered the plate so he could taste or even feel the dish at that point. He seemed genuinely wanting to help, but he didn't need to make us feel like we were wrong. Again - not the end of the world. So why 3 stars? My wife's food was great. The taste of mine was good. They didn't charge us for my dinner. Their Old Fashioned was out of this world (ask Omar to make it). The truth is we want to try it again and see if this was a glitch. If it wasn't a glitch, it's why they weren't packed on a Friday night.

It isn't flashy, it isn't loud, and it doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is: a place that consistently serves excellent food at fair prices. In the Lakes region--where Italian options can feel uneven--this spot rises confidently to the top. On my most recent visit, I was seated immediately at a corner table, a small but meaningful luxury in an age of hour-long waits. The dining room, typically hushed enough for actual conversation, again delivered one of its underrated pleasures: a peaceful meal without the intrusive din that plagues so many suburban restaurants. Service followed suit--friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help, never hovering or rushing. The kitchen remains the star. My spaghetti with vodka sauce was outstanding--rich, balanced, and among the best renditions I've had anywhere in the region. Other entrées at the table echoed the same strengths: sauces with clarity and depth, pastas cooked with confident restraint, portions generous without tipping into excess. Cocktails, too, arrived promptly and properly mixed, further reinforcing the sense of a kitchen-and-bar team that takes pride in their craft. If there is a shortfall, it lies in the ambiance. The room carries a certain charm, but the décor feels a step behind the quality of the food. A refresh of tables, finishes, and overall presentation would elevate the experience from very good to genuinely special. The warmth is there--the aesthetics simply haven't caught up yet. Even so, the value proposition is undeniable. For reliably excellent Italian cuisine, low noise, easy seating, earnest service, and honest pricing, this restaurant more than earns its "highly recommended" status. It is, in every meaningful way, Lake Villa's little culinary treasure.

Tuscany Bistro: Nice on Paper, Unwelcome When It Counts…read more Tuscany Bistro carries itself well; white linens, polished service staff, the kind of presentation that signals you're somewhere a step above the usual. In Kenosha, it's the closest thing we have to proper fine dining Italian. That promise matters, especially when you're hosting important guests. Tonight, I brought two key suppliers, one from Portland, one from India with twelve years in Paris and a refined palate. They'd both flown in to see me, and I wanted them to feel welcomed and valued in my hometown. Our server deserves credit; he was attentive, knowledgeable, genuinely good at his craft. The wine came promptly. So did our meals. But the moment the food landed, cracks appeared. My Portland colleague got lasagna that tasted solid but looked like it had been scooped onto the plate without thought. My filet mignon was genuinely good, but the potatoes came out overcooked and tough on the outside, their skins inedible. The greens were bland, underseasoned. The salad earlier had been forgettable, not even average. Then, at eight forty, the real problem started. The staff began clearing tables loudly. Within minutes, they were yelling across the dining room to each other. At nine o'clock sharp, the lights came completely up and the music shut off entirely. Staff voices got louder: "goodnight, bye" echoing repeatedly, clearly meant as a signal. At nine twenty, the manager appeared and essentially told us they were closed. Here's what makes this worse: they don't close until nine thirty. That's their published closing time on a weeknight. We had a seven forty-five reservation. They gave us forty-five minutes of dinner service before treating us like we'd overstayed our welcome. You don't do that in a restaurant of this caliber. You don't do it when guests are still dining. You absolutely don't do it during a business meeting where first impressions matter. Our server was clearly caught between his training and a directive from above; he never even offered dessert or another round of wine, he just brought the check. The food had potential. The service was undermined by poor management. But the message was clear: your reservation time doesn't matter once their clock hits nine. Tuscany Bistro wants to feel upscale. It needs to act like it.

So, last night was that time! We walked in about 5:15 on a Sunday afternoon, and they were pretty busy! In addition, they had a guy singing acoustically with his guitar, pretty sweet! We were quickly seated, and water came instant instantaneously along with the menus. I ordered a cocktail and hubby stuck with water. He is, after all, the designated driver tonight. We decided to order Arancini and bruschetta for appetizers, while we ordered a margherita pizza for our main. Very quickly, the appetizer showed up - and the arancini's were small, but very warm to the touch and the bruschetta, while small at only four pieces, had lots of mozzarella, tomatoes, and olive oil on them just the way we like it! Needless to say, the appetizers killed it. But what about the pizza? You may ask well, it showed up and it was very hot- not only was it delicious, but it was the first pizza we've had since arriving in Chicago that had a a crust that tasted like many pizzas we ate in California - that was not a bad thing. While we sat there eating and enjoying the music, we commented on how pleasant and simple the restaurant was and more importantly, the staff was wonderful and very accommodating.
