Hello fellow foodies I got an amazing review for you today..I just love italian veal sandwiches…read more, definitely my favorite type sandwich and I have tried them from most places in the GTA . I was told by a family member to try out Cosimos deli veal , so i was in the area so decided to stop in and try out there italian veal sandwich. This italian deli is tucked away in a small plaza on the north side of dundas just past Mavis rd ..its almost easy to not see this deli but look for the yellow sign on the end of building . It's an amazing elderly italian couple that runs the place , she does the cooking and he works along side in deli with her serving these marvelous veal sandwiches. They remind me of my grandparents just amazing people with love for there food and for there customers. So friendly so amazing. Food 5/5 let's just start by saying if I could rate it higher then 5 I would it's just that good . First of all it dosnt get more authentic as far a italian veal goes. The bread is the real italian deal , not like the kinda buns you get at Californias , this is real italian loaf crunchy crust on outside and soft on inside, home made style just like mama makes. The veal was tender perfectly cooked not greasy so flavorful I couldn't believe how great the veal tasted with a nice coating of there homemade tomato sauce , I have to say the sauce was just incredible . Topped with there perfectly seasoned grilled onions green peppers and a few hot peppers in an olive oil base that soaked so nicely into that amazing bread . He also sliced two fresh slices from a big block of provolone cheese , and heated up sandwich in oven to melt the cheese . This is now by far the best best veal sandwich I have ever had and I now have my goto place for italian veal sandwiches. The veal was $10 but to be honest I would gladly pay $20 for this sandwich it's just that good people. My pictures speak for themselves as you can see. Service 5/5 again if I could give the service rating for this place more then 5/5 rating it totally deserves it. The elderly couple that run this place are genuinely so nice and you can see how much passion and love goes into there food and customer satisfaction..The man even offered me an espresso while I was waiting for my sandwich . I dosnt get any nicer then that ..please get to this place and support this couple and deli they are top notch . Try them out and enjoy the best veal in town by far

An aging deli that still delivers some of the best food around…read more Centre Street Deli is an older institution of food, being in the Thornhill area for over 35 years. It's been around that long because the food and the prices are that good. I've stopped by here multiple times and always get the Old Fashioned Center Street Special on rye, medium (not lean) with extra meat. I've never been disappointed with this deli, the food is always delicious and tasty, the cuts of meat are fantastic, thick and juicy, and the fries are golden and crisp. It's a good deal for a good portion of food. The service is always friendly, with servers who are attentive, chatty and friendly. My only comment would be that because this Deli has been around for so long (as have I), I remember when I was little and the paint was fresh. But now it's been worn down and it's noticeable from the doorways to the chairs and tables. This staple of Thornhill is still delivering great food, but the restaurant itself needs some love and upkeep. A fresh coat of paint will go a long way. Even the washrooms (while very clean) have a smell to them. I believe it's time to give Centre Street Deli some love and freshen it up a bit for the younger generation.

Lovely gem in the airport past security…read more I was really beginning to hate my life and regret not picking up Wendy's before I went through security when I happened upon this gem. I'm extremely glad I found this place as there doesn't appear to be much available food wise at the airport apart from fast food options like Starbucks. There is booster juice as well but let's be honest that's not a full sit down meal. . I was about to give you and go to Starbucks when I found this place. It's after security near C30 and in addition to all day breakfast serves surprisingly good sandwiches. I settled on the crispy sandwich which came topped with coleslaw and Russian dressing on a tasty and fresh brioche bun. It came served with fries and dripping in pickles and their juices (despite me requesting no pickles). The chicken was an extremely crispy and well seasoned and did its name justice. The fries were nothing to write home about and a bit greasy and room temperature unfortunately. The portion was also extremely tiny. Service was good with my server making suggestions that he thought were better value for money. My dish came in at $23 for example and there was a two piece southern fried chicken meal with veggies option available for $25 so he made this suggestion. I didn't waver though because I'm a huge fan of brioche and I was really happy with my sandwich choice. I almost ordered a second sandwich just for the brioche bun but I couldn't justify paying almost $50 for an average airport meal. This place is off near the c30+ gates and is a nice little oasis with tables set up in 2 and 4 toppers. You also have the option of sitting in the bar or grabbing something to go from the deli counter. I chose to sit and eat alone (as I'm traveling by myself) but this was in no way uncomfortable since I got to enjoy lovely views of planes pulling in and out of the gate out the large window on the far side of the restaurant. Not a bad way to start my trip. Glad I found this place. I'd try it again if I am at the airport and haven't had time to eat before getting here.

They get 3.5 stars. The Reubenesque sandwich was pretty tasty. The smoked meat was pretty good. The Russian sauce was good, though sparse. The fries were decent, though not really fresh. Smoked meat hash was so so. It was kinda mushy & the smoked meat taste was faint. The mustard was pretty good: there're 3 for you to choose from.

Their Hurka and Pogacsa were the worst that I've ever had. The Pogacsa had no lamination (layers). You could tell that the dough was bulked out with added milk/water. As for their Hurka, both types, Liver & Blood were horrible. The Liver Hurka was 99% Rice and had no flavour. The Liver pieces were far and few between and were rock hard. The Blood Hurka wasn't any better. Where's the Blood? As well, what ever type of meat was inside was rock hard as well. Sadly, I bought 4 rings of each!!

We got a few times a year to stock up on house made csabai, csabettes, salamis (the téli is my favourite, the spicy is just a bit too hot) and Pillers Szeged salami which you can't find in most grocery stores. Pogasca were excellent - at first you think they're too salty but then as you eat them you realise they are just perfect. I'm not nuts about their fresh Hungarian sausage, but the smoked Polish sausage was better. They also have frozen sausages (British, Irish, Romanian), bacon, and a bunch of Hungarian spices and snacks. I haven't had anything from the hot table but the strudel is excellent - flaky, light, and not a sludgy heavy brick like you get a Dimpflmeier or Denningers. Make sure you take a number when entering or else they will overlook you in line at the deli counter!
