You can taste test oils and balsamic, which I am a taste-tester, and the service is amazing! They always encourage your items! I have been ordering the amazing olive oils and balsamic vinegars from Olio for years but finally made it to the actual store in Lititz and figured it was time to review this really incredible family owned business. They have an impressive array of oils and vinegars, all of which you can sample in little plastic cups. This makes it an interactive experience akin to tasting ice cream flavors at an ice cream shop. It also makes it a blast for kids though they have to be old enough to know how to turn on and, importantly, off, the spigot on each barrel. The fig balsamic is one of my all time favorites. It's thicker than most and has a wonderful flavor that I like to trickle on top of salads and grilled veggies. The smoked Sonoma extra virgin olive oil is really something special and can go on salad or over grilled vegetables or can turn a standard sandwich into something creative and delicious. I tried the savory and sweet white balsamic for the first time and thought it was fantastic. My kids loved the sweeter options like the lemon white balsamic (tastes just like lemon ice) and the chocolate strawberry balsamic (tastes like it sounds). They prices are reasonable. A small bottle is $5 and they get progressively bigger and more expensive but even a larger 16.9 Oz bottle is only $22. Some exceptions like truffle oil are more but most are very reasonable. They also sell a huge spread of spices, flavored salts, rubs and more. Try the truffle cheese seasoning. It's amazing on popcorn, over eggs or really anywhere. If you can make it in person it's worth it, otherwise order online and enjoy! read more

Great selection of goods. Terrible hours for commuters passing through town at or after 5:00PM. If I'm lucky enough to be a few minutes early on my commute I would shop there. A couple of times the shop waas closed at 4:57 or so, so NO SALE. Too bad they won't stay open until 6:00PM like the Savory Gourmet up the street. This store is definitely bigger than it looks from the outside! It had a really nice selection of oils and balsamics as well as a selection of honey, pasta, and salts. Their salt selection was really nice and they even have some sample packs you can buy. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Let me start off by saying Joe is the man!!!! Very knowledgeable in his product and great recommendations. We walked out with Raspberry Balsamic, Pesto Olive oil, Greek Olive oil, sun dried tomato truffle pesto paste and truffle cheese affectionately known as "crack". The flavors of every product were phenomenal and we are having so much fun finding different ways of cooking with them all. The owners are there and their shop is beautiful inside. There are sooooooo many options. You could spend several hours tasting and picking stuff out. The owner was truly helpful directing me to try a few. Great place for the gourmand, foodie or gift-giver. The Spanish olive oil is light, but I don't think I should be cooking with it. It destroys the flavor. Love the lemon white basalmic and orange mango passion fruit white basalmic. I found the ingredients really work when lightly drizzled on cooked meats or veggies. I tried marinating some things prior to cooking and it was less potent in flavor than a tiny drizzle after cooking. I will be back, but I'm bummed out about the little cups they have for tasting it. Plastic cups, hundreds in the trash, maybe they're recycled? I hope. It appears wasteful, I wish they had something that was more environmentally friendly. read more

Even though I live in NC, I order their product via their super easy website and try to convert others to The Cult of Olio. The people that own/work here are beyond friendly. They are the High Priests and Priestesses of the Cult of Great Cooking. The prices are a little high...but so worth it. Step away from the olive oil section of your grocery store and experience the many varieties of olive oils OOO&B has to offer. In addition to the geographic varieties of oils, the infused and flavored oils are incredible. The garlic infused oil is incredible and I used it to make a wonderful bruschetta later. The variety of balsamic are fun to try also. The owner was very helpful and made us feel welcome to sample as long as we wanted and provided additional information when needed. BEFORE I walked into Olio's the mere idea of slurping balsamic vinegar or olive oil straight from a cup would have me on the verge of feeling ill. AFTER I walked into Olio's I'm always excited to go back and throw down a straight shot of Bordeaux Cherry balsamic or Roasted Chili Olive Oil. Wow, their selection is amazing. I think they have over 50-taps combined now. I made the owner explain why his vinegars and oils are so much better than the other stores with taps I've tried. He says they're completely independent. Most of the other stores are part chain stores. Either way, I can say their products really are fantastic. I've converted several people to the Olio way. I can't say enough good things about this store. An amazing selection of balsamic vinegars and olive oils. The balsamic vinegars are so rich you don't need as much olive oil to make a very thick dressing. Don't throw those little pieces of paper away - they hold great suggestions for how to use their products. I have a full shelf in my pantry devoted to their products. At Olio, you can taste what you purchase. It is the perfect way to sell a product. Every flavored oil and balsamic vinegar is available to taste and displayed in beautiful, shiny, clean containers with small disposable tasting cups. Very classy. I always feel like I'm at a fine wine tasting when I visit the store. There are suggestions for great oil and vinegar flavor combinations that are amazing. Some of my new favorites are (1) cucumber & melon white balsamic (2) lavender balsamic (3) mushroom and garlic olive oil and (4) habenero maple syrup! It is wonderful being able to sample the olive oils and balsamics and combine them. Each has a description and suggestion of how to use it. Compared to your store brand products, these will last you a much longer time. A little goes a long way! In addition to these, Olio's carries different salts, flavored sugars, honeys and more. Always a great experience here! Knowledgeable staff and owners offer suggestions as needed, but the descriptions on the vats are also quite helpful as to pairings or suggested uses. Olio has a wider selection than most stores of this type I've seen. I visited Olio in Lititz, Pa on Thursday. This was my first time but surely will not be the last. I purchased several oils and balsamic vinegars. I'm was so eager to use some of the vinegar that I purchased that I got a chicken sandwich and used some of the raspberry balsamic vinegar on my sandwich and ate it in my car. It was wonderful. I love this olive oil! Have been ordering from here since we discovered them in 2011, on a cross country trip to relocate. I wish there was a cheaper way to ship it, as it is a bit heavy but they do pack it beautifully. It would be nice to not have to pay as much in shipping cost as it is basically for the six pack of 2oz bottles. It's a great gift, and everyone that I've sent it to, comes back for more. One way I've found to save on shipping is to order a larger amount and then split it up and use prepaid USPS boxes, you can fit alot in the small $5 box. Anyway, in regards to the olive oil, my very favorite is the Fig, you really have to try it. The selection is awesome, I especially like the white ginger as well, it works well with everything, especially because we live in Hawaii! Whatever your palette choice you can't go wrong! A must visit if you find yourself in Amish Country. I stopped by while I was in town visiting my parents. Obviously I walked out with some really good oil and Italian balsamic (and great recipe suggestions), but I also got some AMAZING peanut butter that is made by a relative of the owners.
