I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new burrito spot (where I lived previously, my go-to was Anna's) and Ole to Go! took the top spot. For a bit after we moved, it got a littleeee embarrassing how many times we ordered from here, but alas. We haven't explored the menu too much - just their burritos, soup of the day, and chips with guacamole. I actually did get a salad once and didn't enjoy it, so I took it as an obvious sign that I should just keep getting burritos. For me, the texture of a tortilla is what separates a good burrito from a great one. Ole's burritos do not disappoint. The tortilla texture is great and I appreciate that sour cream and guacamole are both already included. I usually get the chicken or pollo tinga burrito. If it's a cold day or I'm under the weather, I'll also grab a soup of the day. When I've ordered this, it's always been a chicken and rice type soup and I dig it. 5/5 - this place rules. read more

No way, now how are the tacos worth the price. The tacos are ok, I do like the bash tacos. But $6 for a baby taco with a little sauce is not enough to warrant a 4 star review. The tortas are made with some hoagie bread and I put it down after one bite. Honestly I'd say this place should have 3 stars, Im just evening it out. You can find equally as good tacos pretty much anywhere, and they'll probably throw in rice and beans for the price you get 2 tacos for. read more

We ordered tortas from uber eats..they send our tortas wrap in a tortilla...what the heck!...the food was also expensive.

Absolute best place to grab a burrito on the go. The people are fast, make your food in front of you, and they're great at it. This is my "go-to" when I need a quick bit of Mexican, and it's utterly worth it... and the lunch card, with a free burrito at the other end, is a great touch. read more

My jaws go open, close, chomp, chomp. Lips go smack, slurp, lick, lick. Three bites and ten dollars further from hungry, three itty bitty, yummy, runny tacos go down the gullet. And I cry inside, a little. Because... ....the grisly arrachera (beef) needs lime and a little radish to brighten it ... they don't offer mole sauce ... there are no stools for window watching while you gobble But then I think of the comparable options in the walkable vicinity (Picante? Good try.), colorful paint job and lucha libre mascot (Mexican wrestler) on the menu and I know I'm being too nitpicky because despite all the drawbacks I'll come tearing through the door again for quick take out and to try one of these intriguing bulkie rollish tortas. Arrrrrrrrriba! read more

I've been on a hunt for delicious tacos, so Olecito was part of my ever-growing list. This place has pretty stellar reviews so I was anxious to see if it lived up to the hype. Sadly, for me, it did not. I had three tacos -- Baja Shrimp, Carnitas, and Arracherra (marinated steak). All three were lacking in flavor. The Arrachera had the most flavor of the three; thankfully the steak was cooked well. The Carnitas, while tender, were very boring. The Baja was just an overfried chunk of shrimp with very little flavor. One redeeming quality is that they really do stuff the tacos with a bunch of meat. 3 will fill you up! read more

Olecito has such potential. It almost hurts to deny it the 4th * but in good conscience I just can't to it. These are some of the critical flaws: The roll for the torta seems more portuguese than mexican, which makes sense given the local bakery scene. The chicken in my burrito had chunks of cartilage, which I might expect at a dirtier grungier place, but not here. I found the braised pork to be a little flat, flavor wise. The shrimp taco just wasn't that good. But it's a cute little place. And their menu is ambitious, with all kinds of regional mexican specialties. I love the nuance of their torta's, and how they scoop out the extra bread from inside the roll, and toast the shell. There is a lot of attention to detail, and there is clearly a lot of love packed into a very tiny space. There is also the opportunity for Olecito to bring the food up to the level of its potential. Maybe it can start by offering a traditional taco? A small little bite of meat with onions and cilantro with a squeeze of hot sauce and lime? No fanciful salsas. No rich and salty cheeses. Mediocre meat has nowhere to hide. read more

Tried Olecito on the advice of a good friend. I'm sort of a brat about mexican food so I was wary but Olecito was pretty good. They had the mexican soda I love and my pork quesadilla was yummy and didn't make me grumble at all. Chips were a little sub par but what are you going to do. Their hot sauce is really f***ing hot by the way which makes me happy. I think La Taqueria is still my fave but I can't say I mind living between 2 very good taco shops. read more

4.4 stars! I found the food here very affordable and delicious for its price. In the summer, it's great to grab your meal and pop a squat in a chair right outside to enjoy it in the beautiful weather. The Solana torta is where it's at. So many great flavors and the bread is a perfect texture for the torta. The chips were a little underwhelming: some were al dente, which should not be a quality of a chip. The guac wasn't my favorite, but my friend loved it so I have no reason to steer you Yelpers away. The service was great. Definitely recommend going on a beautiful night as the sun sets and enjoying a meal outside! read more

Tryign it now for the first time. Got a pork burrito, which came wiht a side of chips/salsa...and i got a small taste of their "pineapple sals" whihc a customer behind me requested, so I asked for it too. I'm a Felipes/Annas fan. ..so i was not sure what to expect. chips, just as tasty as Oles, Chips, The salsa I love from Oles which I cant find anywhere else. It's fresh, somewaht creamy, and oooo so tasty. Burrito, pork. Pretty fat, very filling. Ingridients are very fresh. and has a restaurant taste with a slight zest. They grill the tortilla a bit with a burn which I like. Price $5.50 for the burritto chips. A bit pricey, but I think it's worth it. and the 2 ppl workign behind the counter are very nice as well. They also hav an assortment of drinks to get. I'll have to try their sandwichs this weekend, and maybe their otherw tasty dishes. Space: it's a hole in the wall, walk in, get your food, and go. Maybe a bit of space to stand and eat inside. read more

I was hoping that Olecito was going to be good for the entire walk there. Long have I dreamed of being able to walk to a taqueria from my house. To decide that I needed a burrito and then, five minutes later, to have that burrito is a concept that very nearly overwhelms me with joy. My love of the Boston Burrito Scene began in college. I needed to embark upon a C line pilgrimmage from Cleveland Circle to Anna's Taqueria in Coolidge Corner to pay homage and eat the Lord's bounty. When I moved to Inman Square, I needed to make use of my car, or a combination of a ten minute jog and then the Red Line, to be satisfied at Anna's or Tacos Lupita or Felipe's. But now, now Olecito brings this religious experience to my doorstep. Gleefully, I can stride one block down and two blocks over and have a smiling woman hand me a freshly made piece of heaven. If you ask for a pork quesadilla, you'll get pork, melted jack cheese and salsa in a tortilla, assembled and then pressed slightly to firm it all up and get the flavors to come together a bit. Compared to Anna's (the industry standard, I feel), the texture of the pork was superior - firm, but yielding - and of very high quality. The jack cheese was more flavorful as well, with a tang that comes in at the end of each bite. The salsa was also excellent. While Anna's tortilla texture, from the griddle-frying, will always have a place in my heart, I like the press method of Olecito as well. It was a meal that filled me, and it only cost me $4.50 and about 180 seconds of joyous skipping. This place is a must if you live in the Inman area, a must if you are a burrito enthusiast, and a "probably should" if you're a Bostonian. read more

Awesome, filling, cheap meals; quick turnaround; I'm anti-Tex in my Mex and this place was like a godsend when it opened for me. Fairly authentic flavors, fresh ingredients. Yum. Off the one star for occasionally weird service experiences and for the odd bag of stale tortilla chips--otherwise perfecto. Their carnitas literally makes my mouth water to think about. Right now. oof. Also, the baja (shrimp) tacos are amazing, and their asada is decent. Their veggie mix is pretty good but can be a little watery. The folks who run this place and Ole ought to give up the sit-down enterprise and just put taquerias everywhere they possibly can: best in Boston. (Well I hear there is an excellent place in a gas station on Charles St or something--seriously--but this is the best *I've* found.) Compared to Anna's, WAY better in flavor and cost--they don't nickel and dime you here for every single topping on your burrito, for instance. read more

Pretty typical of the Mexican food you'd find in most parts of New England. Service was very friendly and the price for everything was very reasonable. Grabbed a quick dinner for two for around 20 bucks. Tortilla chips were well salted and fresh but the guacamole had the flavor of something left sitting from the beginning of the shift. No fresh pop of lime flavor, little salt, and a bit of an unpleasant color. All 4 tacos suffered from a lack of the typical press garnishes (white onion, cilantro, a squeeze of lime) and may not have been saved with those involved. The shrimp cane fried and breaded in what was almost like a red lobster style breading. Not great for a taco and the steak and pork versions were completely devoid of salt or flavor. Condiments may have helped but the salsa station was mostly empty and not very clean but the orange habanero salsa was a high point. read more

It was a grey, cold night but stepping into the yellow, bright interior with the Mexican music blaring instantly lifted my spirits.. Good galoshes, it's tiny with the menu scrawled on a chalkboard behind the counter.. Cash only, but fortunately just right for our tax bracket since Ole across the street is quite a bit over it (being a poor grad student :)). I loved the fact that for take-out instead of getting a plastic bag they give a nice paper bag with twine handles. We tried three tacos (carnitas, baja, and rajas) and two burritos (chicken and steak). The carnitas taco was amazing (with the pineapple salsa being a nice balance) as was the baja. The rajas (vegetarian one) really wasn't our cup of tea. The burritos were good but a bit dry to start (suffering from lack of distribution of the guacamole and pico de gallo) but I enjoyed the salsa that they gave on the side and put it inside.. so yummy! We'll definitely be going back... if only we hadn't discovered (ah, read about it on yelp based on the reviews) this four months before we're heading back west... :P read more

This place had a cute outdoor eating area and friendly, quick service. The food really wasn't all that great though. I had a chicken burrito and it was just very bland! The rice had no flavor and the chicken was pretty dry. The chips were even kinda gross, they tasted a bit stale and very processed. My boyfriend really enjoyed his tacos though. He said the beef taco was the best. The burrito was pretty large and the other portion sizes were quite generous. I think I might go back and give this place one more try, although my quest for GOOD east-coast-Mexican-food shall have to continue! read more

Oh my, I was not prepared to love this so much. Yes I saw the reviews but I've had great Mexican before and figured it couldn't live up. Boy was I wrong. First of all the Service is lighting quick, I'm talking seconds, not minutes!! Had the chicken burrito and chips and salsa. The burrito is packed with flavor and well constructed in every way possible. The chips are homemade but the surprise of the entire meal was the salsa. It is unlike any salsa I have had before. Inman Square. Sunday morning. I got a real bad rumbly in my tumbly. Too bad the ONLY thing to eat in Inman square for breakfast on a Sunday morning is a $10+ brunch. While a sun-dried tomato with organic olives and chevre frittata sounds great, I don't have the scratch to drop on that type of plate. If you don't want an epicurean brunch, your choices are limited. Either you wait 45 minutes in line at S&S while Nana and Papa count their pennies, or you try and cobble together some weird type of meal out of expired Puptarts and Goya Mango Papaya juice from a shady (as in, poorly lit) convenience store. Yes, you could always go to 1369, but their muffins are smaller than a baby penguin. Good to cuddle, bad to eat. I was hungover, I needed something hearty and cheap and within a minutes walk. I know Anna's has breakfast burritos, so I thought I'd take a chance at Olecito. "Good morning! Do you happen to have breakfast burritos perchance?" "No, sorry." *At this point I pause and think to myself, "You know... eating a normal burrito for breakfast wouldn't be so bad." "Okay. I'll take a normal burrito please." "What would you like on that? "Just beans, rice, guacamole, and cheese." "Meat?" "No" "Veggies?" "No" "Sour Cream?" "No" "Salsa?" "No" Are they required to ask you if you want every single item on the menu?!? "Would you like a Torta?" "No" "Quesadilla?" "No" "Half a Torta and half a Quesedilla with 2 chips and a Taco?" "No" "Three chips?" "No" I finally succeeded in placing my order for a BURRITO WITH BEANS, CHEESE, GUACAMOLE, AND RICE and quietly and sat down to wait. Keep in mind this is at 10:45am on a Sunday so the place is completely dead. I get my food quickly enough and bring it back to a safe location to eat. Damn these burritos are big! Yum! Wait a second... did they... did they put salsa in this instead of guacamole? I requested no salsa because I cannot eat onions. Onions give me heart burn. Okay, so no onions. Easy enough. But not for Olecito! Even though there was not a single person inside the store ordering food besides me, they still managed to screw up my order. How hard is it? I want beans, I want rice, I want cheese, and I want guacamole. It's the green one. Not the red one, that's salsa, and I didn't ask for salsa! I could understand, maybe, if the place was bustling with customers and I had to shout "GUACAMOLE" over a din of hungry mouths, but no. It was dead quiet. I could hear the hair growing out of the mole on the face of the lady behind the counter. Also nothing is worse than having to unwrap a steamed tortilla and remove tiny chunks of microscopic onion. It's like picking out beads at the arts and craft store except your fingers get burnt and it isn't any fun at all and you don't get a necklace out of it just a pile of shit on tin foil. Damn you Olecito! I just wanted a simple burrito. Why can't you complete the easiest of tasks for me? What should I do next time? I love your burritos but I don't want any onions in them. How can I trust you? How can I ensure we effectively communicate? Will you let me behind the counter and spoon the ingredients myself? I certainly don't mind doing that (as long you wrap it for me, that part looks hard!) Do I need to bring a burrito ambassador with me to ensure you make my god damn 4 ingredient meal correctly? Shame! Shame for you Olecito! (See you soon, I love you) read more

I guess coming from California, I know what good Mexican food is - and I guess if I was from New England, I would think this place was pretty good. There are an obscene number of places in town to get burritos, but NONE are better than Olecito. Instead of price gauging for sour cream and guacamole, be assured that they simply come with your burrito order--rare for a Mexican food place to be so generous! ($5.89 for a giant burrito that includes a bag of chips/salsa?!) The employees there are machines--two people (almost always the same man and woman) do the work of 5, and they make it look easy. Not one action is wasted in this cutely decorated, excellent smelling shop. Now that the weather has turned, there are a few tables to eat at outside, but I almost always get Olecito to go. Please note, this is a CASH ONLY establishment. I've taken scores of people here and everyone has left more than satisfied. (Oh yeah, the tacos and tortas are good also.) read more

A WARNING FOR VEGETARIANS: Food here is cooked trad-style, which means lard, which means likely intestinal distress, even if you go for the ostensibly-veg poblano taco. (Sad face.) I ran into my friend E. at 1369 last Saturday and he was like "I've just finished my 'morning' coffee, so I could really go for some beef!" E's one of those "good eater" types who should weigh about 400 pounds but doesn't, and is also an honest-to-gosh from-Mexico-Mexican, so when he idly suggested a tacos expedition, I had to go along. I eat gleefully at Ole about once a year, always on somebody else's dime, but "fancy Mexican" is really kind of an oxymoron for me, so this takeout-only lil' sibling (which I didn't even know about until E. nudged me into going) is the perfect answer. Simple menu (maybe five choices in each category) with a good range of fillings, including an excellent Baja taco (with shrimp) and pineapple Jaritos (a nice indicator of authenticity, in case the ethnicity of my dining companion didn't convince you). I don't generally notice this sort of thing, but a lot of you have OCD when it comes to food prep cleanliness, so I'll mention that the whole place, was spotless and the kitchen is wide open, so fear foodborne illness not! Inman's way short on cheap eats, especially if you're looking for takeout, so I'm sure this has been a welcome addition to the neighborhood. read more

I've tried their burritos and tortas. My favorites are the tortas (beef and chicken to be specific... the veggie one is pretty good too tho!). They are super filling and flavorful. Olecito! Such a cute little takeout place with bright colors and joyful looking Mexi-wrestler logo. $2.75 per taco seems a little much. That price will get you 3 tacos plus a carbonated beverage in SoCal. Maybe I've been away from the real thing for too long (yes, I recognize the irony in calling Mexican food from Cali "the real thing," but it's so much better than what we've got here), but the carnitas taco with pineapple salsa at Olecito is the first I've had in Boston to compete with the memory of my favorite LA hole in the wall, Mexican places. I ordered 2 of those tasty little tortilla wrapped piglets. I should have ordered 3. . . Edit: 3 tacos + a non alchy Sangria makes for a 5 star lunch, but a taco meal really shouldn't set one back more than $10. The stars stay where they are. read more

Absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the carnitas with the pineapple salsa (I asked for it without pickled cabbage). It wasn't enormous but it was enough. I also got some amazing chips and salsa and of course, unbelievably fresh and tasty guacamole. It is teeny in here -- you will order at a counter and take your food to go, or eat at their tiny eating area (about 5 very closely situated bar stools). This place really hit the spot today. Great place to grab a quick snack in between meals. The shrimp and the steak tacos are delicious (haven't tried the carnitas -pork- but plan to soon), and the tortas are tasty and filling. Dear Olecito, Why did you disappoint? I had heard such great things, and all I wanted was a great gourmet taco place in Boston. Baja tacos (Battered shrimp, pickled cabbage, chipotle mayonnaise, cilantro pesto) were great. The carnitas (braised pork) and arrachera (marinated steak) tacos left a lot to be desired. The chips and salsa were disappointing. (Let's just say Chipotle is infinitely better) I won't give up you yet, little Ole. Sincerely, Longing for MexiGrub in Cambridge read more

Olecito, the little sister of Ole, is the solution to some of the food curve balls life sometimes throws at me. Cheap, scrumptious, Mexi goodness, when Ole is either too crowded, or my wallet's too thin, or I need some tasty takeout in a hurry. I usually go for the Baja taco, which is their shrimp taco. Typically not a fan of fish tacos, but this one is a bomb of deliciousness. The arrachera (marinated steak) is also a taco triumph! The Yucateca, a Torta Sandwich (and a recent discovery) is worth checking out as well. Braised pork with cheese and avocado sauce on soft telera bread-- it bursts with heat and flavor, and leaves me smacking my lips. For under 10$, I can feast on several types of animals in one sitting. A win, on all fronts! read more

Robin to Ole's Batman, Olecito is a small powerhouse of flavor and value. My partner in crime and I swung out of there with a bulging satchel of mexi-goodness ...we were in a 3am Taco Bell kinda mood but we also wanted quality. I also got lost in this neighborhood a few days ago so I kinda knew where it was this time. I started with a braised pork taco...this meat was the arch nemesis of the meat in the Cuban sandwich at Garden at the Cellar...moist, flavorful, and yes I am still giving that place sh*t about the bone dry pork. I could have done without the double shell but the fantastic meat was paired with a nice pineapple salsa and some fun pickled cabbage. Great taco!!! and cheap!!! Next I indulged in the chicken quesadilla, I say indulge because there is an obscene amount of cheese in this tasty, toasty pocket. The burrito wasn't the hand cannon I've grown fond of but it contained all manner of goodness in perfect proportion. I also liked the guacamole and the chips. I'd like some more booyah in the salsa, other than that this is my taco stand of choice. They even had validated parking which is like unheard of in Boston where you have to parachute down into any establishment you'd like to support. read more

Sweet mother this place is awesome. I have been in Boston for nearly two years now and have lamented the entire time about the lack of decent Mexican food here. Thanks to Jessika D. I now know about this fancy little hole in the wall. I ate here tonight (wasting no time since finding out this place is minutes from my house) and I am very impressed. This is as close to a taqueria I have seen around here. Minus the salsa bar :'( They have a brief but colorful menu but their taco prices are a bit steep. I had a Baja taco and a Raja taco...also APPLE SODA. Ok, so I am super excited to find apple soda here. I fell in love with Manzana Lift! in Mexico and haven't found anything similar in the states. Not only is it delicious but it's sweetened with sugar (no high fructose corn syrup here) as is the bottled Coke. The tacos were OMIGAWD so good. Totally living up to the price. We bought them and ate them on the stoop like vagrants. To quote Melissa B: You know you're eating good when your only concern is not getting any on your feet. We're nothing if not classy. Ole! Olecito es muy delicioso. This place was totally bustling last Friday night (Yelp may have spread the word) and I would say I waited like 10 minutes for my take-out. But it was worth the wait! And ordering was not as soup-nazi-esque as Anna's/Felipe's. I got a burrito with both chicken and veggies so it cost a dollar more or so. All yays and no nays: 1) they automatically put in sour cream and their special guacamole, as opposed to Anna's, where you have to specify everything you want and pay extra for guac. I don't usually get cream but it made it enhanced my dinner for sure. 2) I love that if you order a burrito, they give you a side of chips and salsa (which was pureed and not my favorite part of the meal) for free. 3) It was h-u-g-e. I ate my chips and burrito simultaneously but then couldn't finish my burrito. Great value. Great food! read more

Now I'm a pretty serious Anna's enthusiast -- say what you will about authenticity, California, or freshness of ingredients, but like it or not I'd say they do set the benchmark 'round these parts for many of us. After a seriously delicious lunch burrito from Olecito today, I'm re-evaluating my allegiance. Sure, it's in Inman, a decent hike from my home territory of Davis Square, but if they were side-by-side, which would I pick? I'm not really sure - it'd be a tough choice. And I won't say that about many burrito joints. What I am sure about is that Olecito makes a really damn tasty burrito for short money. Just over $5 gets you a good-sized burrito with seriously deliciously seasoned meat, guacamole, sour cream, AND a bag of chips with a little thing of salsa. That is some serious value. Value aside, it's a delicious meal in its own right. No matter where you stand on Boston burrito places, question your burrito allegiances and hit up Olecito - you won't regret it. read more

Olecito is really fantastic. The taco and torta choices are really thoughtful and interesting, and everything I've had there is super fresh and mouthwateringly delicious. I wish I could go there right now actually. Instead of going to my yoga class. Because a steak torta from Olecito sounds much better than warrior or eagle pose in a 100 degree room. But I digress... Not only is Olecito fresh, creative, delicious, close to parking, conveniently located in Inman, and staffed by very friendly people, it's pretty inexpensive for what you get. I don't even think you have to pay extra for guac on your burrito...how novel! The salsa is really really great too. I am pretty much in love with this place. It's right up there with El Pelon. Finally something comparable on this side of the river. Ole! ...cito. read more

Note to folks in Central Square: Olecito is worth the walk. I know that Picante has a ton of fans, but for the life of me, I don't know why. If you're looking to switch it up a bit, walk over to Inman and try Olecito. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Back before the Monsoon started, I enjoyed a sunlit walk down to Olecito and ordered my usual burrito joint fare: a veggie burrito. As many have noted, this comes with chips and salsa for not that much money. Win! Other have also mentioned the free guac and sour cream in the burrito. I was 2/3rd of the way done with mine before I discovered either of these. At this point I was pretty full, so I didn't really get to enjoy them. -1 star for poor distribution. This is crucial to a good burrito. Another thing worth noting, I ended up with a couple of pieces of steak in my burrito. I'm not a vegetarian, so this wasn't like finding a hair or anything, but I'm always disappointed when things like that happen. While everything was pretty good, I thought the salsa was amazing. I want more. I will go back for the salsa. It was like a happy dance in my mouth. read more

When in the need of the quick and cheap whilst in Inman, it's to Olecito we head. The burritos are very good, massive and actually come with all the fixings. (hellooooo guacamole!) Quesadillas are folded for to-go enjoyment. And the Tortas are highly enjoyable. I much appreciate the side of chips that accompanies my burrito. The salsa's addictive. There needs to be a clinic for this. The sodas are natural or native - both a plus! Sad face for the one Sunday morning when our crew was fiending burritos and they opened late. We ended up at the regular sized one (instead of the cito) because we just couldn't wait. read more

I have been to Ole before and was happy to go with a group to sit outside. I have not been treated so poorly by staff in a long time. I was waiting to order and was *completely ignored* by the serving staff. I was standing for a long time, and finally one guy took pity on me and told them I had been waiting. I would have left had I not come with other people. The server pretended not to understand me and even though he ostensibly took my order, filled others who ordered after me. I am beyond upset by how I was treated here. If you go here, expect the poorest service around. :-( read more

Oh god I wanted to like Olecito so much, but $2.75 for ONE taco is just ridiculous. I had a pork torta- the ingredients were fresh, but the pork was dry and the torta was on a bulkie roll*. Plus the "avocado" was a shot of avocado paste from a bottle, not actual avocado slices. On the plus side, it did come with chips and salsa included. On the minus side, the salsa was bland (but better than the usual pico de gallo). Everything I can get here, I can get better and cheaper at Tacos Lupita. Sadly, Olecito seems to be just like Ole- mediocre, and overpriced for what you get. * not an actual bulkie roll, but a similarly sized piece of bread used for comparison. read more

On my way back from Fromaggio Kitchen earlier today I found myself to be really hungry. Checked my watched and it was already almost 3PM. I apparently had forgotten to have lunch and decided to have something different. It was one of those days. I figured that maybe I could have some Mexican food. MexiCali's closed on Sundays. I didn't want to hit up Picante again, nor did I want Anna's or Boca Grande. Certainly didn't want anything to do with Qdoba and Chipotle. I wanted something real, something good, that would hit the spot. Then I remembered my experience with Ole a few weeks ago via Foodler and remember that they had a place across the street that was cheaper, and after iPhoning the address via the Yelp app, I headed to Olecito on a quest to satisfy my Mexican food craving! Walking in, the place is tiny. It does have a nice little view of Springfield street though, where you can sit at the window on one of 3 stools. I decided to order 4 tacos to go. I overordered on purpose so that I could eat the rest for dinner later on. I settled for 2 carnitas tacos and 2 arrachera ones as well. Let me tell you something, at $2.75 each they are almost a steal, I almost felt bad! Each is very satisfying and stuffed with beefy or pork goodness. The meat is moist and very flavorful. They also have some cool ingredients in 'em like pineapple salsa and pickled cabbage. It works really well in the carnitas one and complements the pork really well. In the arrachera one there was steak, pinto bean spread, jack cheese, lettuce and avocado sauce and it all works really well as well. Along with other tacos they also have some torta sandwiches and even burritos. The prices are excellent and the food delicious to the last bite. I highly recommend this place and cannot wait to return in the near future to sample some of their other offerings. The only hickup I found annoying is that they are cash only, which is lame considering it's 2009, almost 2010. Oh and it would be perfect if they sprinkled a tiny bit of lime on their arrachera taco. I had some leftover lime that I added to my taco and it opened up a whole new range of flavors from it. But that's a minor detail. Regardless, a great place! read more
