My jaws go open, close, chomp, chomp. Lips go smack, slurp, lick, lick. Three bites and ten dollars further from hungry, three itty bitty, yummy, runny tacos go down the gullet. And I cry inside, a little. Because... ....the grisly arrachera (beef) needs lime and a little radish to brighten it ... they don't offer mole sauce ... there are no stools for window watching while you gobble But then I think of the comparable options in the walkable vicinity (Picante? Good try.), colorful paint job and lucha libre mascot (Mexican wrestler) on the menu and I know I'm being too nitpicky because despite all the drawbacks I'll come tearing through the door again for quick take out and to try one of these intriguing bulkie rollish tortas. Arrrrrrrrriba!

Tacos: Baja shrimp, Carnitas and Arrachera

I've been on a hunt for delicious tacos, so Olecito was part of my ever-growing list. This place has pretty stellar reviews so I was anxious to see if it lived up to the hype. Sadly, for me, it did not. I had three tacos -- Baja Shrimp, Carnitas, and Arracherra (marinated steak). All three were lacking in flavor. The Arrachera had the most flavor of the three; thankfully the steak was cooked well. The Carnitas, while tender, were very boring. The Baja was just an overfried chunk of shrimp with very little flavor. One redeeming quality is that they really do stuff the tacos with a bunch of meat. 3 will fill you up!

Tryign it now for the first time. Got a pork burrito, which came wiht a side of chips/salsa...and i got a small taste of their "pineapple sals" whihc a customer behind me requested, so I asked for it too. I'm a Felipes/Annas fan. ..so i was not sure what to expect. chips, just as tasty as Oles, Chips, The salsa I love from Oles which I cant find anywhere else. It's fresh, somewaht creamy, and oooo so tasty. Burrito, pork. Pretty fat, very filling. Ingridients are very fresh. and has a restaurant taste with a slight zest. They grill the tortilla a bit with a burn which I like. Price $5.50 for the burritto chips. A bit pricey, but I think it's worth it. and the 2 ppl workign behind the counter are very nice as well. They also hav an assortment of drinks to get. I'll have to try their sandwichs this weekend, and maybe their otherw tasty dishes. Space: it's a hole in the wall, walk in, get your food, and go. Maybe a bit of space to stand and eat inside.

This place had a cute outdoor eating area and friendly, quick service. The food really wasn't all that great though. I had a chicken burrito and it was just very bland! The rice had no flavor and the chicken was pretty dry. The chips were even kinda gross, they tasted a bit stale and very processed. My boyfriend really enjoyed his tacos though. He said the beef taco was the best. The burrito was pretty large and the other portion sizes were quite generous. I think I might go back and give this place one more try, although my quest for GOOD east-coast-Mexican-food shall have to continue!

The Tajin Elote is a total flavor bomb; it was so delicious that we had to order an extra one to take home! The true highlight of the evening was the Enchiladas with Salsa Verde and Mole. I opted for the Soy Tinga option, and the combination of flavors and textures was amazing! I really appreciate that the vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options are not an afterthought for them. They taste just as authentic and high quality as the traditional dishes. The bar is extensive, and they offer many high end tequilas/mezcal, and craft cocktails. My Mezcal Paradise cocktail was perfectly balanced. The 4 Leches Cake was rich and creamy; it melts in your mouth! The restaurant has a vibrant and cozy atmosphere, with bright colors to match the lively Latin American theme. They are open late, making it a popular late-night spot. I highly recommend Meatless Mondays, and I can't wait to come back and try more of their vegetarian soy options!

Plus they had other options, including tostadas, bowls, tamales, burritos, you name it. When we arrived, there were people inside eating. We stopped to look at the menu before ordering, and were greeted by a very friendly man who made the experience more enjoyable. I ordered a tostada with steak, onions, cilantro, a little sour cream, green verde sauce, lettuce, and refried beans. It was my first time trying one so so was really excited. I also ordered two cheese pupusas, which I ended up taking to go with me. My boyfriend ordered a bowl with chicken and various toppings. My tostada was delicious. The crunchy tortilla paired with fresh steak and all the juices from the onion and cilantro paired so nicely together. The ingredients seemed very fresh. We were gonna take this to go, but we decided to dine in. The same gentleman ended up checking in on us half way through the meal to see how we were doing. I thought this was really nice. His name is Chef Noe and he was telling us that he is the head chef for this restaurant. He was glad we enjoyed our meal and it was a pleasure talking to him. Overall I think the spot is well placed as it is right near Leslie university in Harvard so I think it's a good spot for students to come or if you're local like us. It's quick but it has quality. Its fast food but it's fresh. That's what I liked about it. It's all prepared in house and the flavors are great. The decor is also cute inside, very colorful and I thought it was creative that they up-cycled Jarittos bottles into flower vases. Definitely check out the spot when you're in Cambridge and you won't be disappointed.

I really need to remember to look online before choosing my order in the future (or so I thought). While the tacos still look incredible (especially the birria ones), the torta was surprisingly great as well. The sandwich is jam packed with ingredients and really well balanced. The beef was juicy and tender, and the veggies added a really nice balance of spice (jalapenos), freshness (onions, lettuce, and tomatoes), and richness (cheese and avocadoes). The refried beans were a pleasant surprise as well, adding really good moisture and flavor to the overall bite. And including avocado on the torta for no extra cost really is what put this above and beyond to a 5/5 - the avocado was ripe and had just the right amount of it to add that rich and fatty element without being too slippery and making it hard to eat. The fries, on the other hand, were a bit soggy and thick for my liking. I had seen another photo on Yelp where they looked a lot crispier and were shaped differently, so not sure if I just got unlucky, but the sandwich more than made up for the fries in this case. I really can't say enough positive things about the torta. And even though the torta was fantastic and I gave it a 5/5, I definitely want to come back for those tacos. Three tacos plus rice for $18 is a pretty great deal, and the tacos really look incredible. My partner ordered a tongue, al pastor, and fish taco and while I didn't try them, they looked and smelled incredible. We will definitely be back!
