A more keto-friendly choice than the beef jerky people, I picked up a bag of Old Wisconsin "Turkey Bites" after checking the label and seeing 1 gram of carbs per serving though 310 mg of sodium. Tasty turkey sausage and bite size, each one is about an inch long and you'll need napkins or a pair of shorts to wipe your fingers as it's a little greasy. But delicious and satisfying. Ingredients: Turkey, mechanically separated turkey. Contains 2% or less of the following: Salt, corn, syrup solids, natural spices, dextrose, lactic acid starter culture, carrageenan, sodium erythorbate (made from sugar), garlic powder, sodium nitrate, in collage casing. Sausage party!! Every time we drive through the Sheboygan area we vow to stop at the Old Wisconsin outlet store and today's the first time we've managed to catch them open. Sure - the shop is open M-F, but on Saturdays it's 9am to 1pm so get there early. (Closed on Sundays) The retail area is pretty small and definitely no frills but the deals are legit!!! We happen to like their turkey sausage bites, and a 8oz bag is like $4+ at our local grocer. Here? A 28 oz bag is FIVE BUCKS. And it was buy 2 get 1 free!! I don't give a shit if the pieces are slightly irregular - they're still delicious. Plus, snack sticks are just a quarter! So we left with 5 bags of varied snack bites and several dozen snack sticks (got to restock the bar!) - in total around 8lbs of stuff was around $28. Really good deals to be had here for sure! And the folks working are super nice, and there are plenty of samples around too. Get on up here and throw yourself a sausage party! read more

This place is one of our favorite! A tiny little store tucked of one of the main streets of Sheboygan this place can fulfill all your sausage needs for a fraction of store prices. It's meatacular!! If you were ever looking to sink your teeth into some bulk bags of factory second meat sticks, here's your chance! Pricing is reasonable, but selection is small. I assume that available products are reflective of current factory production so products are definitely fresh and always rotating. Nothing to look at here but processed meats stacked high on tables. Credit cards accepted, hours are limited, and parking is street only. Good thing there is a liquor and tobacco store across the street. A fine young Sheboygan bachelor can do all of his shopping without ever having to move his car - or pickup for that matter. read more

Whenever I'm in the area, I swing by the Wisconsin Sausage Outlet to get some sausage. Depending on when you show up, there could be a lot of people or very few people there. The prices are decent for what you get. Granted it's factory seconds that can't be sold in stores but who cares, it is still edible. I would highly recommend coming here for sausage products. It's just a room behind a side door, the Old Wisconsin factory store is all function. Form or aesthetic appeal is not why you go here. You go here because their great products are bargain priced. There's no guarantee what you'll find, but I found a lot of goodies to take home. They have delicious meat sticks and summer sausages. There are brats, hot dogs and a variety of cold pack meats. I happen to love the beef sticks. If you like Old Wisconsin products it's a fun place to stop. read more

In my travels through Wisconsin over the years, one of the favorite things I love is picking up a bag of Old Wisconsin beef sticks, which a cheese place in Lena sells. Well, Sheboygan is the Old Wisconsin home town, so I was thrilled to see it on the corner as we passed through. I came in to check it out. The outlet has a prominent sign but the door is more like a factory entrance with no window, nor is there a way to look at what is in the shop without going inside. I came in and saw a warehouse-like room with boxes and refrigerated bins of sausages, brats, pepperoni and dried meats. I took a bag of beef sticks and headed to the checkout. This place has a no-frills look to it and could be neater or tidier, but it's good meat at a good price and I had myself a bag of sausage snacks for the ride. Well worth a stop if you're in Sheboygan. read more
