don't waste your money. I purchased this as a Christmas gift. Expiration date is 10/2026. This package was moldy. I was embarrassed.

Love their product! The original and black pepper flavors are my favorite! Do they have a store in Forest Grove, Oregon?

Review Highlights - Old Trapper Beef Jerky and Smoked Snacks

The Teriyaki was my first favorite but now I'm stuck on the Original since I can really taste the smoke flavor, but either one is going to blow your mind if you already enjoy meat snacks.

Every single person I've interacted with has been so incredibly kind, so don't be afraid to ask for recommendations. They have a full coffee menu, make their own syrups, and often have an employee special that's fun to try! Don't skip a drink! They also offer an array of pastries and bread. I love their almond croissant, even though it's not usually my first choice. There are so many layers and it's so flavorful. I'm also a big fan of their breakfast sandwich, mostly because it comes on a croissant. Honestly, you can't go wrong here. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try next time you are in the area, you won't regret it. And heads up that they also have a spot at the Orenco Farmers market so you can grab pastries there as well!

The turkey bagel was made from fresh ingredients and well packed, it was a delicious way to start the day! While I was exploring more of Forest Grove I was thinking back to what I was charged, thinking it was a quite a bit more than my last visit here, and I did look back at the menu and realize I was charged double for my half loaf ($9 for a half loaf of bread). I totally understand mistakes happen, I went back and the staff were very helpful in finding my order and refunding me the amount I was over charged. Can't wait to try more from Slow Rise!

B'Lynns is somewhat new (I think the Grand Opening was December 2020), and there wasn't much information available online, but that only intrigued me all the more! The location is off a one-way street, so I parked near the bitty downtown area and walked there, but I think I might have seen parking behind the shop, just don't hold me to it! Inside, shelving displays a variety of treats: barks, chocolate bars, brittles, pralines, chocolate covered pretzels and more, plus plenty of pre-packed boxes with mixed truffles and/or bon bons. I saw the later in a case, so inquired if I could build my own box, and happily did! All chocolate shops should allow this, but you'd be surprised by the many that don't. The lovely proprietress was so much fun and incredibly patient as I mulled over all the delights. She was also incredibly generous, allowing me to sample a couple goodies I was unsure of. I was most surprised by her cherry cordial. While that is one of only a few chocolates I generally eschew, hers was lovely with a thick chocolate shell, and no icky artificial flavors. I ended up with a box of 15 (which I embarrassingly finished off in just three days), and everything was wonderful, though I have to say the truffles stole my heart. While the bon bons are beautiful (and still delicious), for me nothing can compare to a well-made truffle, which is just what these were. Prices are in line with similar shops, and while my focus was on the gorgeous and tasty chocolates, if that's not your thing there are so very many options of sweets here. Pair that with a small local business deserving of support, and I bet you'll find B'Lynns would make an excellent spot for some holiday treats this year (and all the time!).

After seeing a sign on the main road, I followed it to a lighted reader board out in front of an immaculate home and farm, about a quarter mile west of Highway 47. I was right away struck by how pretty and well-maintained the grounds and stand area were. The proprietors and 2 friendly dogs greeted me. My sunflowers were personally cut from a large garden near the stand, while I browsed for corn and cucumbers that looked too delicious to pass up. It was a very hot day, and she took extra care to choose individual flowers that would last a while in the weather. The price was extremely reasonable, 6 stems for $2.50. Their website notes that the young brother and sister owners are 4th generation farmers of the land, descended from the orignal Dutch farming community of Verboort. Neat! They grow heirloom seeds, tomatoes, corn, pumpkins, peppers, string beans, onions, carrots, gourds and squash, in addition to cukes, corn and fantastic sunflowers. Ben's is open during August, September and October from noon to dusk (sixish), and, if they happen not to be there, a sign on the counter says they offer self service on the honor system. A nice touch--this does not happen in Portland! I've already recommended Ben's to a couple of people in Forest Grove. I'm happy to support this sustainable, community-oriented business and will make a point to go back whenever I'm in the area.

Place is small and cozy. Menu is not large but had great options. Artichoke dip was amazing. Wine was great. I had fish with almonds and it was fabulous. Noodles are made fresh. Price point was perfect. Best parts, they had gluten free pita bread for husband! He normally always had to have veggies with dip. Definitely was a happy man. They subbed his Au gratin potatoes for mashed. I was not in impressed with the service as dinner went on. Be prepared for a slow meal, but what I mean is our dinner was at 730 and we went till 930, which was fine but after dinner we asked about dessert and the waitress was very... tired? Put out and said "i am sure i can dig some bread pudding up still" Mmmmm, no thanks. We went someplace else for dessert. Maybe it was just due to new year crowd through the day? I'll go back. We did enjoy our dinner. And its close to our new home.
