We appreciated the shade trees and very clean outhouses there. It was a little weird to call to get a permit and we were sad they didn't sell day passes as we're from MN. We ended up purchasing an out of state annual permit because by the time we drove there - we really wanted to see the falls. The $38 cost wasn't too high. Now we will likely visit another WI park this year. It was also nice to see fewer than expected people in this park on a Sunday. We drove home through a MN state park and it was packed - we were glad we had planned to go to Pattison. We also appreciated the interp signs and nice brochure at the ranger station - we read it all.

This was our first time driving into Duluth through Superior Wisconsin so we had to make a stop at Pattison State Park. Our favorite view of the Big Falls was from the parking area across the street from the park entrance ( you still need a park permit to park there). Short hike to the viewing area and they also have a selfie station to get a great picture in front of the falls. The colors were beautiful as we came in the fall time but I would love to come back in the spring to see the falls raging!

Park is lovely with falls around every corner. Easy hiking trails- very scenic and beautiful. Had the water not been such an icky brown I might have jumped in and if it were a tad warmer out. Plenty of rocks to jump around on and just a beautiful park for the family and our little pup who kept up.

We found out about this tower from the hotel front desk and thought, why not--it's free! Parking…read morewas easy, and the views did not disappoint. From the top you get a full 360° view of Duluth, including the aerial lift bridge, which was super cool to see. The tower's only a few stories high and has rails to help with the climb, though it's not ADA accessible. Along the way, we also learned about Mr. Enger and his impact on the city, plus Duluth's special ties to Norway. Definitely a neat little stop! Not to mention there was a Japanese Zen garden and a few trails.

The walk-in sites in general are all amazing, you're secluded from everyone else but still close to the amenities. Site 83 is about a 4-minute walk from where you park your car. There are two tent pads and plenty of space. It's a beautiful site--book it early! The amenities at the campground were great, plenty of places to recycle, fill up water, and throw out trash. The bathrooms are also very nice, but they are some of the busiest bathrooms I've ever seen! There are plenty of hiking trails as well, a great visitor center and gift shop, and it is an all around lovely state park.

I'm not super experienced at camping, but the campsites felt quite close together to me. Compared to other places we've been, the sites are much less private. STATE PARK: 5/5 We loved walking a bit of the state park over the weekend! The suspension bridge is super cool, and it's really fun to walk on and explore the unique rock formations along the water.

I spent time every summer in Minnesota, camping and fishing but I had never been to Duluth. I loved…read morethe area around this part of Minnesota and if it weren't for the brutal winters I might live there. Things in Minnesota were just beginning to open up so there weren't crowds to deal with. It was nice to walk along Lake Superior on a warm and sunny day. I had a good time and if you have never been there it is worth consideration.
