Some things were better, others not as good, but good overall. Great brisket and burnt ends were ok but a little light on the smoke to be honest. The pulled pork was dry in some places and nice and juicy in others. The smoked Mac and cheese is mighty tasty and not too bitter from the smoke. Glad we tried the redneck nachos. They are made on house made potato chips and are a very unique treat. Also great bbq sauce! The original and spicy have excellent flavor. Glad to have another bbq spot in the DSM area to go to!

Instead of turning us away, they did everything they could to seat us, despite it being a busy Valentine's Day evening. All the staff were so kind and apologized to us profusely for the inconvenience/situation. We were given such great treatment and on top of everything, 2 free desserts! We were treated with such care and empathy, making the dining experience that much better. We had multiple servers and hosts checking on us constantly to ensure that we were ok. At the end of our meal after we paid, the server came back and provided us with 2 $10 gift cards for when we come back, which we will! One of the people at our table tried to explained she had already taken two of the tickets in the three she had in her hand, made five. It seems to last longer than that of other grocers in the area. Chicken prices are the cheapest in town, and the dairy is pretty well priced too. If you aren't familiar with what Aldi offers, don't go in there thinking you can get everything you get at HyVee or Fareway. This is a no frills grocery store with basic items. You still have to deposit a quarter for the use of a cart, which you will get back, and you have to pay for bags to put your groceries in, but it's all good. If you know what Aldi has, then you know. If you don't know, that's fine. But don't complain about that they do/don't have. They have what they have a good prices. If it's not for you, go somewhere else.

They have a set menu based on the produce that's available to harvest, but the way the created the recipes around the produce and chicken was really delicious! Between 400 and 600 PM I grabbed some Hy-Chi and ran a couple other errands. Quite the whiskey selection at this location! The raffle kicked off right at 600 PM and was very well run. The staff was polite and did an awesome job. It was great to get to network and spend some time with others with similar interests. The bourbon community is just that...a community. And walking away with a bottle Eagle Rare at MSRP was pretty cool too...!

Now that food is much more expensive, my trip last wk will be my last... $25 steak that had crunchy, dried edges, all around the entire steak. It was gross, Meat quality is better at HyVee, but never buy their on-sale meats which all smell bad. They shouldn't be allowed to sell those, but that's another review. Produce is hit or miss. HV has better quality, usually. I'll still buy coffee beans here. That's all.
