I have not been to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Abbotsford for a long time and I did not recall having the best experience. That changed when I came back recently. When I arrived earlier than I would any other restaurant, I received a table right away. I took a bit to think about what I ordered, and I asked for the New York Steak with Fries, medium rare with a garden salad and the Summer in the City New York Sour cocktail. The drink was subtle yet flavourful in taste. The steak was fantastic; it had that barbecued taste while still being juicy. The fries tasted great and did not require condiments or extra seasoning while the sauteed mushrooms were pretty good. The complimentary bread was warm, fresh and crunchy and the garlic butter helped enhanced the bread's palate. The restaurant's aesthetic interior always had this antiquated yet sophisticated look to it. The service was very good, and they came frequently to my table. I really enjoyed coming back to the Spaghetti Factory after all this time and I do hope for the very best for this business. read more

This is such a good easy place to go because you get everything you need in a meal for one price really. Restaurant has ample parking although it's much easier to get into heading west on Marshall or north west on sumas way. It's really nice inside with lots of stained glass lamp shades as well it's very clean. We had coffee, the fresh warm roll and garlic butter. I ordered the crispy chicken club with minestrone soup and fries while my partner ordered the club with salad and fries. Went back again to retry and had a great experience. The service was excellent too! Started with the chicken tenders which were yummy but ask for different sauce as the plum isn't good. The best pasta is the chicken Alfredo with mushroom marscapone cheese ravioli. Big pieces of chicken and the sauce is so mouthwatering tasty it's great to eat with the bread. First time at this location to have dinner and we're very happy with our experienced. The place was very busy for Sunday dinner time but got seated right away. Our server was very friendly and always check our needs. Food waiting time is not long but the free bread and butter really helped to fill our empty stomach. Foods we've ordered were all very good and tasty. I super enjoyed my Seafood Linguine and Red Sangria. I went with my cousin for lunch here today. I was absolutely delighted with my experience! Our server Hannah was 100% spot on with everything. Bread and water was brought to the table shortly after I was seated, as I was still waiting for my cousin. It was really nice fresh warm bread. We ended up eating the whole little loaf. To start, we ordered the Crispy Mozzarella triangles. My cousin and I both had different tastes for the dipping sauces, so our server offered to bring us one of each without even having to ask her to. We really enjoyed these! They were a fun little share plate to start. For wine I wasnt sure what I wanted, so I asked the server for a taster, and she graciously obliged, quickly bringing me a sample. I did like it, so I ordered an 8oz glass. They have reasonably priced wine for portion size too. For the starter that came with the meal I decided to upgrade to their Cranberry Goat Cheese Spinach Salad, based off the servers recommendation. It was definitely the right choice! Full of bright flavours, and a really nice dressing. They served it on a chilled plate so the spinach leaves stayed crispy. For my main I chose their new Seafood Linguini Marinara. Again, really enjoyed it. The seafood was nicely cooked, it was not too saucy, and the portion size was really large. Enough for me to take home for a second meal! (Please keep in mind I am a small eater though. My cousin finished his plate, but was full.). Lastly they brought us ice cream as the finale. It was very flavourful and creamy. It was really fun to have a four course meal for a very reasonable price! Service was 10/10. Knowledgeable about the menu. Warm and accommodating. Attentive enough without being intrusive. Really really great job! Food for value was 10/10 as well. Price was reasonable, food was really enjoyable. I would definitely return. To my surprise the service here is great kudos to Alexandria!! We decided to stop in for lunch and give the Old Spaghetti Factory a try. Great atmosphere, helpful staff and reasonable prices with large food portions. We ordered the chicken parmesan. It was a VERY large portion that one person would have a hard time finishing. Unfortunately, the spaghetti sauce was not great, which affected the entire meal. For those who have never been here, their meals typically come with sourdough bread, a starter of either a soup or salad, the main dish, ice cream to finish, as well as tea or coffee on the side, if that's something you want. All of this for a relatively decent price, which is great. Quality-wise for food and customer service experience, I've had some hit or miss experiences at this location for both take out as well as dine in. Overall, I've had better dine in experiences, so if you're okay with going in, then that's what I would recommend. Things to note: parking lot can get very busy and it's located in an awkward corner after the intersection. Depending on which direction you come from, you might have to u-turn, etc. to actually get in. During their rush periods, there can be very busy wait times. If you've got a large party though, they do take reservations, so call ahead. If you're dining in and you have your student ID, ask them about their starving student deal. You can pay an additional few dollars and get an entree to take home with you for your next meal! If you're ordering take out, always double check your order and make sure that they include utensils, even if it's pretty common sense for them to include it - they have often not included it unless they are reminded to. My friends and I have ordered the veggie lasagna, spaghetti with mushroom sauce, and spinach salad here a number of times. My friends really enjoyed the veggie lasagna and spinach salad, while the spaghetti has been undercooked a couple of times that I've ordered it. The service is much better than the food. Energetic friendly young servers are the best asset of this chain restaurant. The environment is simple, but fine as well. The food is another story. Many years ago, I enjoyed this chain's food a lot more, but now the previous quality of preparation has been lost. The complimentary bread was not hot, crispy outside, and soft inside, but just room temperature and stale. The garlic cheese toast was hideously over salted to the point it was inedible. The chicken parmesan dinner just had one small piece of chicken breast, not at all looking like the picture on the menu. They serve it very dry with hardly any tomato sauce, it was not hot enough, plus the flavor was rather bland. The side pasta was ultra simple but decent. They hardly put any dressing on the salad which made that dish impossible to enjoy, and the spumoni ice cream was served too soft. I don't understand why they offer a complimentary beverage, but it has to be hot tea or coffee. They really could provide better selection than that, like they did years ago. I haven't been to this chain restaurant in a long time, and based on this meal, I won't be rushing back too fast either. The food was typical spaghetti factory that you have at any of the chain. The wait, however, was horrendous. Tracked down a manager at about the 50 min mark to see if they lost the order. Another 10 mins after that we finally had dinner, which is about how long it takes to plate spaghetti in the first place. No offer to discount the bill. I didn't ask, but really, after that amount of time, I shouldn't have to. The excuse given was that it was a busy night. I've worked in busy restaurants (in the kitchen). If you can't plate spaghetti in under an hour you need new kitchen staff. read more

Too my family here and the service was quick and attentive, the staff are friendly and the food as always is very very good. A couple of weeks ago I went to eat here after a big doctors appointment. It was a very stressful day and Rachel was absolutely fantastic. She was knowledgeable, quick and helpful. I have extreme sensory issues with food and she was able to give me a sample of the pasta which I had never tried before. The kitchen made me the best tortellini ever (even though I had never had restaurant tortellini before LOL) and it was an incredible meal. Five stars for rachel!!!! read more

We were travelling home for our Christmas (three days after) and hit major snow heading towards home so decided to find a place here and take the Elisa for dinner. Service was slow getting seated despite the fact it wasn't overly busy. We ordered kids meals before we even knew what we wanted. When the food came the adults food came first and the kids had to watch us eat. Server was busy and not available often for simple things like water. Had three well behaved kids to tend to while waiting patiently but then waiting five min later for the bill and then another five for the interac machine etc etc., made for a long evening after a long day of traveling. I have a nostalgic feeling for Old Spaghetti Factory, and I always want to like it, but it always, always falls short. This place - like the one in Whistler and Calgary fell short. The good thing about this location - super friendly staff and good service . The manager in particular was really funny and nice, and our servier was sweet. The food though is mediocre to poor. I ordered Spaghetti and marinara sauce - the pasta was overcooked, and the sauce is bland. If I made sauce like that at home, I wouldnt serve it to guests without some serious seasoning. The salad was good though - the thousand Island dressing tasted almost homemade, and quite tasty. The sourdough bread was ok - and we both passed on the ice cream that comes with every meal. Nostalgia has always brought me into the spaghetti factory, but I wont go again. My friend and I went up to the spaghetti factory from the US after I told her what an amazing experience I had previously with my mother there. Unfortunately I cannot say we received a great experience this time. I believe our waitress was named JoJo or Joann?? and while it was an hour until closing time that we arrived she seemed quite annoyed with us coming in so late. I ordered a clam chowder before my meal and it came out cold like the warmers weren't on at all so I asked if she could please heat it up. She brought it back but it was still luke warm so I didn't bother finishing it. I also ordered a strawberry mojito (one of the main reasons I wanted to return was the delicious alcoholic beverages you serve) my friend and I both tasted it , and there was literally NO alcohol in it. I brought it to the attention of the gentleman tending the bar and he very rudely told me that he made it himself and put alcohol in it, and jojo popped up behind me backing up that there is alcohol and I must not be familiar with drinks like that. No one offered to make me a new one or even took it off the bill as I didnt drink much of it. THIS is where my experience got worse. We both ordered spaghetti WITH meatballs and were each only given one meatball. We were beyond trying to seek out better customer service and help as it appeared it doesn't exist there. This is great family restaurant. If you like to receive big 'bang for your buck' and affordability, then this is your place. There is always free refillable bread and butter. Every meal comes with soup, and desert. You're guaranteed to leave here stuffed. The atmosphere is neat with antique decor, Tiffany's lamps and rustic wood charm. Our server was friendly and inviting. I wouldn't recommend this place for a first date or if you're trying to highly impress someone, but for a quick bite to eat with kids, this is your place. He was attentive, open, knowledgable, and so friendly. He was bartending with a few tables, and I can say with confidence he has mastered the art of multitasking. The drinks, I got a bellini, and my mom a strawberry margarita, were absolute perfection. The attention to detail and effort he put into every single drink he made was outstanding. Once our food came he made sure to check on us regularly, and worked quickly if we had any questions or concerns. We are a large family and gather from around the Lower Mainland to the Abbotsford location for a lot of our family celebrations. And we have never been disappointed. The staff are wonderful, the atmosphere is always upbeat and festive and the menu has something for everybody. Its a perfect middle class, middle cost outing for any budget. We just celebrated dad's 96th birthday and the staff were wonderful and thoughtful in making him feel special. We recommend this location to all our friends and even family coming from out of town. This is not the same OSF found in the US. The service was definately below par and there was no reason for it as it was slow. Our food took forever to come out, we had to flag any waiter/waitress to get refills etc. My toddler knocked my drink over and instead of offering to get a new one they just gave us 3 paper napkins! to clean it up. Food was the same as any other OSF, but it seemed the selection was less then other OSF we have been to. The food was ok/avg. Also my wife said the ice tea was the worst she ever has had. She is used to unsweatened and it was very very sweatened. My biggest issue had to do with the service. 2 hours from when we first got there till we had to hog tie someone to get our ticket. We were there a week ago with a party of 12 for a bday party. Even though we had reservations and the restaurant was less than half full we waited 20 mins. to be seated. Well that was nothing compared to the 60 min. wait for our food. Did I mention our party included a newborn and a toddler? Yea....that was super fun! After 60 minutes the food started coming...oh look....bagged salad with nothing added, not even a tomato slice...I can totally see how that took an hour to make. All the food was sub par. Went there to have a small celebration for a friend's 60th birthday. Luckily we had made reservations as it was packed at the front with people. Our server Jake was awesome, made us laugh, we embarrassed him. All good. I ordered the garlic shrimp appy and it was swimming in butter. Maybe should have had less butter and add some cheese?! The portions are quite large along with the items that you get with each meal. My sister ordered the chicken parm and was expecting a chicken breast as opposed to a breaded cutlet, but apparently she didn't read the menu haha I ordered roasted garlic grilled chicken with gluten free linguine and had to ask for more sauce as it was sticky and dry. read more

Bacon was microwaved stuff. Chicken was pre-cooked and cold and rubbery. Bread was old too. Very disappointing! Even my margarita sucked big time. And no change table!! What the heck?!
