Such a cute little place! I went for lunch on a Sunday and sat on their front patio, it was gorgeous sitting outside. They were understaffed and busy so it took quite a while for my food to get to me, but when it did it was piping hot. I got an omelet with peppers, mushrooms and feta with a side of home fries and sourdough toast. The omelet was perfectly done, the home fries I could eat a whole plate of, and the toast was great! My husband and I tried somewhere new! The old Saratoga eatery. At first impression, there were only two guests in the joint and it was quiet. The waitstaff were super friendly and we were promptly greeted. We put in our order for wings, sweet potato fries and two sandwiches. So glad we were somewhat fast, because the place was hopping within 5 minutes of sitting down! Their sweet potato fries are freshly cut there and they make their own sauces (you can tell from how fresh the pesto is). We will definitely be back. Sigh. I debated updating my previous review because I know how hard it is to keep a business afloat these days...especially food/restaurants. I stopped in recently on Monday with a colleague, since we were between meetings and had a little bit of time to grab a bite. Old Saratoga eatery was the only restaurant open in the entire town besides subway. All of the tables were occupied with one exception, and I probably should have read the room ...nobody had food in front of them. Long story short...the food took so long that we actually didn't have time to eat and took everything to go. It was probably an hour and 15 minutes that we waited for a salad, garlic, knots, French fries and chicken strips. Right before I was getting ready to leave, I was offered my money back, which was a very nice gesture, but I did not accept it. So, one star is for the truly lovely staff there and the second is for my decent salad. Unfortunately, my colleague did not have great things to say about his food. I probably should have asked how long the wait was going to be, but it would definitely be helpful if they let people know that they are very behind when they are initially seated. read more

We were a party of 6. Arrived at 6:00 and left at 7:30. We were the ONLY people there. It took an hour and 10 minutes to get our food. It was not worth the wait. Tasting notes from our group: The Philly cheese steak was dry. The zucchini hummus wrap was pretty much void of zucchini and spinach, and seemed to only have red onion and hummus. I like to support local, small businesses when I can. Olde Saratoga Eatery has always had very pleasant, competent and friendly staff. Tonight, I called in a take out order and was told it would be ready in 45 min. I arrived there just at 45 min mark, but waited an extra 15 min. That was ok, but the server asked me a minimum of 3 times who I was and what my order was, may have been 5 times. A bit annoying, since the restaurant was not full, so I could not attribute it to that. I had ordered a pizza and crispy oriental chicken salad. Pizza was good as usual, but salad was lacking ingredients. There was supposed to be tomatoes, almonds and carrots that were missing. There was lettuce, red onion and cheese ( both not listed as ingredients ), crispy chicken, and very light sprinkling of chinese noodles. Most oriental salads include a nice oriental salad dressing, but not in this case. That is not offered, but should be. So, I was very disappointed in this salad choice. It was just a very strange and out of character experience tonight at the restaurant. I am giving 5 stars, b/c I don't want this review to discourage other potential customers from trying other tasty menu items. read more

We had a bad experience last year when ordering a delivered meal, over an hour, cold and poorly prepared. We only live about a mile from the establishment. We didn't complain, stuff happens. We tried again this evening and our pizza took 1 hour and 17 minutes to be delivered and yes only about a mile away. I handed the cold pizza back to the driver. I do feel bad for not tipping the driver, it's not her fault. I was angry and feel bad for the driver. However when the owner called me as if the cold pizza was my fault, I decided to warn everyone about the bad experience. I won't make the same mistake again. read more

We have really enjoyed our meals at Old Saratoga Eatery while in Schuylerville! The menu had a lot of variety from nostalgic diner food (like the open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes I had the first night) to pizza, salads, sandwiches, and a great breakfast menu. The portions are very generous and the staff are really friendly. The first night we were here we sat outside and they kept coming out to check on us because it looked like it might start to rain. This morning we had breakfast there before leaving. I enjoyed the omelette and home fries, and my wife ordered the fried dough (which was huge!) and said it was like a big donut with powdered sugar! Stopped in for lunch during a COVID era drive to some area parks. Glad to find that they were open and serving with all proper COVID precautions in place. They had 3 tables outside well spaced, all workers wearing masks. Time to give these small businesses some love and the nice weather makes it easier. Food was good - the SO enjoyed the Zucchini Hummus wrap but felt there could have been more hummus. The $5 2-slice and soda special was OK but my slices lost most of their heat before they got to me. Today was our first visit to Old Saratoga Eatery and it was well worth the drive from Ballston Spa. This simple no-frills eatery has a retro vibe and super friendly staff. The breakfast menu included breakfast staples as well as specialty items that you would only expect in an upscale restaurant. My tea was served complete with a teapot and a choice of tea. I definitely recommend the stuffed French toast and the sausage patties, which were slightly spicy and cooked just right. My Husband went for bacon and eggs, with bacon nice and crispy. The full menu offers lots of reasonably priced choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It will be worth your while to give them a try. read more

Ordered take-out for the first time from Old Saratoga Eatery tonight. It was possibly the best take-out food we've ever had. We had the cheese ravioli, garlic knots, wings & house salad. The portions were huge. The food was delicious. Real tomato sauce (with chunks of tomato), Buffalo wings that impressed my wing-connoisseur boyfriend, and a salad full of fresh ingredients. We are so happy we decided to try something different than our usual take-out place tonight! The delivery took a long time (little over an hour), but when I called the owner explained that they were unexpectedly short staffed (understandable during this Covid situation) and her husband drove our order out himself! We came here for lunch after seeing their menu online. We are docked down at the Schuylerville Yacht Basin and this restaurant was only a short walk away. My husband and son settled on white pizza. And I went with Cobb salad with grilled chicken. Coming from the NYC area, it's hard to find good pizza elsewhere but this thin crust white pie was delicious. The crust was the best part too. And the salad was large and very fresh. Warm grilled chicken on top made it perfect. Excellent service. Place to sit outside and properly social distance. Stopped by on the way back from the Saratoga National battlefield site. Huge menu sometimes indicates they don't know what to do well. Not the case here.
