The tattoo artist that goes by "RedZone" or "Red" stole $700 from me. I put this money down at the beginning of December. My appointment was set to get started on January 22nd. He got sick, so we rescheduled. This happened about 4 times. I got a message that he'd be at the shop today, Monday 2/5/24 @130pm. I asked some questions, and per usual, there was no response. I had a feeling due to all the inconsistencies that he would not be there. Showed up, paid the meter, drove on the gas I had, and sure enough, was not there. Do not get pierced here. I went with my wife and watched in horror as the -manager- pierced her. He kept making comment about "stabbing it through" her skin and "I hope this works". He mentioned he was new to piercing and kept looking a diagram and even looked at my piercing to make sure he was doing it correctly. She was so nervous and then he put on the wrong kind of earring that prevents healing ! Luckily her ball fell out and she went to a different tattoo shop to get a replacement so they told her that it wasn't the right kind. The earring he put in her ear was cheap cheap metal that shouldn't be used for healing!! No pamphlet like normal piercing shops give you for healing instructions either. She's lucky it didn't get infected. Use a surgical steel hoop for daith piercings mr manager. Also learn some bedside manner and maybe wear a mask. I'll start this review by saying that I got my first ever (and only ever) Tattoo at Old Sac Tattoo. My husband and I did a spur of the moment overnight trip to Old Sac after we got married and were talking about matching tattoo's on the way down. We saw Old Sac Tattoo when we got down to the Old Sac shops and decided it was worth a peek. The shop itself is creepy but in an awesome way. I wasn't sure if I was on the set of "saw" and about to die or if I was in a crazy underground sex dungeon and needed to be worried. LOL. Patrick was super nice. The place wasn't busy at all when we went in and he and another nice dude were very helpful. We explained that we wanted matching tattoos and they gave us great tips. My husband has a couple tattoos but Patrick new this was my first and he was very calming. He showed me everything he was doing during prep and was very cautious if I started to tense up. I only wanted to punch him in the face a few times during the pain. I'm not down with more tattoos since they just aren't my thing but I would totally recommend this place and Patrick to anyone looking to get one. Do NOT go to this place on a whim, late night and get the same piercer that my friend and I got. He was AWFUL. I wanted an industrial piercing so bad, so we looked for a shop that was still open on a random rainy night. They were getting ready to close but the guy that greeted us (he called himself Cash something) said he would do it no problem. I liked the gold jewelry that I saw and he said Yeah, you can do that, No problem. It'll fit your ear nicely. I asked- Are you SURE? I don't NEED gold, it's cute but want whatever is best for the healing process. He ASSURED me that it would work. The piercing was so painful. His hands were aggressively shaking the whole time and when he was finally done, he started to press my ear down. He must have noticed how the bar was too short and was curling my ear in! I was like --ouch!!! why are you hurting me??? It was horrible. But I didn't know any better, so I paid him, tipped him and thanked him. 8 months later, my ear is always on the verge of infection. Alwats red, swollen, painful and angry. I finally got up the nerve to go to another piercing place to have it looked at and they confirmed that the bar was way too short. It would have never healed. He also went in crooked so it's going to be tough to salvage, but we put in 2 separate earrings for now to allow it to heal and then will try to save it. I have been in so much pain dealing with this for 8 months. Very very disappointed that he took us on when he clearly had no idea what he was doing. read more

I cannot express how much I love Emily as my artist! I saw her first at Victory Ink in West Sac and found out that she moved here. I wanted to finish up my geeky sleeve with her and she did an amazing job and did tons of research before she got me inked up... Pictures have been added! I came into the shop looking to get a tattoo. The entrance is clearly labeled "Tattoo" went down the stairs and was greeted right away. I showed the gentleman what I wanted and I was told to wait for about 20 minutes and an artist will be with me shortly. The shop had a nostalgic feel to it. Oil paintings on the wall, animal statutes all around, and a clean waiting area. There was music playing in the background and the shop felt welcoming. I've been wanting to get a lion and a rose together on my inner arm for quite some time and I was referred to Ferni for my tattoo. After the paperwork we went to Ferni's work station and we talked designs, size, and color. After about 15 minutes of cleaning and disinfecting the area, Ferni got to work and about four hours later my tattoo was done. It was what I wanted and Ferni added the finishing touches to it. All in all I was so pleased with his work that I came back two more sessions after that to complete a half sleeve, which we are still working on. Had a large cover up and a fresh tatt done here by Fernando in two unbelievably long sessions. The guy is an amazing artist, and a never-say-die worker! We went into the wee hours on both visits. Having said that, I've had a number of tattoos over the years, and I don't suggest doing that to your artist in more normal situations. But home for me is 1,500 miles away near St. Louis, and Fernando is the guy I wanted to do them. So over two visits two weeks apart, we started in the afternoon both times, and went waaaay past midnight! His art is really great, he's highly experienced, and is very tuned in to what the client wants, as well as realistic about what can and can't be done in a cover up piece. I have to say, all the artists at Old Sac seem very competent, the owner is friendly, and the studios are clean, clean, clean, and well-equipped. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this shop and Fernando for any size project you might have in mind. I was happy with my first visit, but you know that if I traveled 1,500 miles for my second visit, I was/am definitely a happy customer! You will not be disappointed here! Walked in unannounced today with my sister for matching butterfly tattoos. With a quick pick of the style, sketch done with in minutes we ended up with two fabulous pieces of art. Overall great experience. I have several tattoo's and wanted to add to an existing piece on my left ribs. When I showed up I was greeted by Aaron. He was very friendly and was willing to work with me to come up with the design I wanted. It was fairly simple and all I wanted to do was add some stars as "filler" in the background of my existing work. Most artists get frustrated with this kind of work because it doesn't take much creativity, but Aaron was happy to do it and made the entire experience very enjoyable. He works very quickly, but don't mistake that for sloppy, all of his lines are very clean and there isn't a single shaky line. He has a very light hand which was nice because the ribs are a very sensitive part of the body. Overall I was very pleased with my experience here and would definitely recommend to a friend. The only reason I am giving 4 out of 5 stars is because I felt like the guys at the front desk were super cool, but could have been a little more receptive to people coming in and looking to ask questions. I've spent a lot of time in tattoo shops so I understand the vibe, but for someone who might be looking for their first tattoo or any other kind of nervous person might have found it a little difficult to get a conversation started. Dan is amazing he just pierced my nipples I felt so relaxed with him. He made me laugh and calmed me down. While we were waiting I asked my boyfriend if he knew the reasoning behind everything in the tattoo and the artist responded with 'dont boar me with that shit.' I was alittle taken back by that but didnt feel comfortable leaving. The tattoo was definitely rushed, parts of the ink blead, parts scarred and if you really look at it the lines dont match up in some parts. First, I am heavily tattooed. I've got to a lot of shops, and had a variety of experiences. This was, easily, the worst (and scariest) I've ever had. The artist took my concept, and we talked it over and he seemed to get what I was going for. The stencil looked fine. However, as soon as he put the needle to my skin I wanted to get out. Honestly, I should have just walked away with a partially done piece, but I felt like once we started I couldn't just stop. The artist was -very- heavy handed. I was getting my wrist tattooed, which is pretty easy in terms of pain for me, but I had tears in my eyes from the lining. He worked far, far too fast, not taking care where the lines went. I wanted a "scratchy" tattoo, but this is just...messy. The lines aren't clean, and it doesn't really resemble the inspiration I brought in. I've had the tattoo for a little over 2 weeks, and almost all the shading has fallen out. It looks as though it was drawn on with ballpoint pen. I have -never- had this problem with a tattoo, and used exactly the same after care I always do. This is the first time I've needed a touch up within a few weeks of getting the piece. On top of that, they quoted me one price (high, but reasonable) and the artist asked for a second after the work was done (very high.) I believe in paying artists for their time, but I have a pretty good concept of how much a tattoo of this size and time investment should cost. I -hate- leaving bad reviews. I never have had to for a tattoo parlor before. I will not be going back, even for free touch ups, because I'm frankly terrified of the artist and his work. read more

I cant say enough nice things about this shop!!! I was tattooed by Erik and my boyfriend was tatted by Heidi and from beginning to end, both were incredibly nice and tried really hard (and succeeded) at conveying what was in our heads, down on paper and onto our bodies. When we initially made the appointment we were greeted by the shop own Danny who was awesome and super friendly. I left the shop with a beautiful arm piece (a Phoenix) and my boyfriend left with 2 new pieces. It was an awesome experience and I will DEFINITELY being going back in the near future. Side note: This place was incredibly clean, as soon as you hit door you smell cleaner and pine sol which really puts you at ease when you are about to let a needle touch your skin. My brother only had one day to get a tattoo he wanted, so he called this shop on a Saturday and asked if he could come in Sunday. They told him they had time for him and he could walk in at noon. We got to Old Sac 30 min early and waited at the front door. Not only were they not open still by 12:45, but their hours that were posted said they were open at 10am. Luckily, we called a few more shops and found another opening. We came from out of town and were promised he would get in for his tattoo and they weren't even open. Me and my friends went in here to spontaneously get our noses pierced. It is $40 including jewelry. We were taken care of by Dan. He was confident in his work and got us in and out of the shop. He made sure to sanitize everything and always changed gloves after each of our piercings. It was great that he allowed for my nephew to come into the shop since the other shop in Old Sac doesn't allow it. There's also a beautiful drawing of a mermaid as you walk into the shop. I wanted a septum piercing but he said he didn't have the correct jewelry in stock and advised me not to get it done. If only I lived closer, because I would definitely come back to see him for my septum when he restocks. Maybe another spontaneous day out in Sac. And don't forget to tip your piercer/tattoo artist!
