I sold my clothes to them and it was a complete mess. They told my it would take the most 45 minutes but I didn't get my clothes til 2 hours later. They mixed up my order COMPLETELY and ended up stealing 6 pairs of my clothing and never told me about it until I looked in the basket of my clothes and saw a few items were missing... after I already was home I call them up and all Emily had to say about it was "oh I'm sorry here let me go talk to the lady who looked through your clothes" when she was the one who looked through it. Not only did they take my clothes and not tell me about it, but ended up giving me less than 20 dollars worth when they were all brand names. I also gave them brand new purple vans that costed over 60 dollars (mind you they say they take 1/3 of the original price and that's what they give you) and they told me they would give me $8.00 for it!! All they want are "trendy clothes" but half of their clothes look like they are from 2013 or something you saw on Pinterest when you were in middle school. I'm so upset that Plato's is like this now. This year after having dug deep into how they use their monies and how they handle putting donations on the shelves!!!! I decided they would NEVER ever get one more item from me so today i boxed up 4-5 large boxes along with with some loose pillows and things and drove to the Salvation Army Thrift store in Strongsville. I had visited this site 4-5 weeks ago to see how THEY operate, the kinds of things they have on their shelves and how knowledgeable and helpful employees were. Much to my chagrin today, i walked in the rear entry door with my first box where no one greeted me nor were there more than 1-2 folks within earshot for me to call out to. The ENTIRE back room where their donated goods was overloaded and in a SHAMELESS shambles. I saw no one with any sense of urgency. I continued with the rest of my boxes and items placing them where i thought they would fit, not FALL OVER and left in a huff. There were 'prepared receipts' on clipboards for anyone to fill in what they want for IRS donations. Big Brother is apparently not watching. The retail store is scantily stocked when they could be loading up their shelves and making real some money but no, disinterested folks are lolling around talking to each other about last evenings tv show. Apparently, nobody has any needs in the poorer sections of Cleveland Ohio since nobody HERE had any interest in their jobs nor helping the less fortunate. I could run rings around the folks in this store, organize it, load up the retail store and help others. I worked for an international non profit for almost 20 years so i know how it gets done. I will never return to this store or any other Salvation Army (bellringers included) nor Goodwill. I will seek out a more needy organization who uses, appreciates and cares about donations.
