Harpers is a rare gem to have in this area, and we're lucky to have them. The staff are all very fashion-forward, and are all more than capable to send you on your way looking sharper than when you came in. The store itself is very upscale, and feels like a place you'd find on Savile Row (without the Savile Row prices.) Really great seasonal selections, with a lot of well-curated accessories available. Their custom garments are where they really shine however. With hundreds of fabrics, linings, buttons, and styles to choose from, it is always a joy creating something that is uniquely yours. ANYWAY lady took the size, and stated that I was a 42. (I have never worn a 42 jacket in my life and ended up purchasing a large poorly fitted 40). The pants were next. 34. No- i tried on a 30 in another fabric and same style that fit like a glove. The lady said that she could only order me a 31 pant, because that was all that was left. There were also no 38 jackets. The lovely in-store tailor was wonderful and felt like she could make it work. I was very clear about what I was looking for. A week later the pieces came in and I came in for a fitting. A gentleman greeted me this time. I put the pieces on, and he said "we have this fabric available for a custom suit, is that something you were interested in?" Yes. How long will it take? And how much? "3-4 weeks. I wouldn't risk it now. You should have ordered last week when you were in." Clearly annoyed, I explained that I was never given that option and told that this was my only option, and that prices are very similar after the extensive tailoring." He said he was sorry. It wasn't his fault. I returned the following week for a try-on after the tailoring was complete. I was greeted by the original saleswoman from the first visit. I told her who I was and that I got a call that my suit was ready. *blank stare in return*. The gentleman went to retrieve the suit. The lady said, "where is your stuff?". What stuff? "Your dress shoes, and dress shirt. How do you think we see if things fit, if you don't bring them." (Would have been helpful to know before coming, that I couldn't use the try-on shirts and shoes that are sitting by the dressing room; it was not in the voicemail). I tried on the suit, was unhappy with the fit. The saleswoman said while walking away "well, its this or you wouldn't match the groomsmen." I explained to her that I could have purchased a custom suit if she had mentioned it on my first visit. She scoffed and said "maybe in a different color. They don't make it with this fabric". I asked her to check and she said "You're right. Its the one overlap in our system. Maybe you can come back and get the custom jacket you want after the wedding." I heard her talking to the other associate. Katalina came over to talk with me and was lovely. I will not be returning and will recommend this store to no-one. I should just have the bride call and have them explain why the suit fits poorly. C'est la vie.

The first time I went there, I was greeted by a very young lady with the question, "how tall are you?" Well, I'm obviously short; was the question supposed to be a joke? One may even wonder about the very wisdom of having young women as salespersons at a store for men -- does Victoria's Secret have a lot of male employees selling women's underwear to women? I just found the whole experience unpleasant. But the second time, dealing directly with the manage, was a different story. State College has very few options for anything, left alone clothing. However, I recently made purchases that earned me $60.00 in Kohls cash. Previously you were able to use the cash 10 days after the expiration. My expiration date was 6/29/25. On the morning of 6/30/25 I tried to order $90.00 worth of rugs using my earned cash and was told I couldn't use it because they changed the policy. I plan to return all items, buy them again during Kohls cash days, get my rugs and cut up that card and never shop there again. I won't be surprised if they go out of business. Their customer service and Kohls cash policies are not helping them get business.

That's if you count the non-retail establishments as viable locations to visit in a mall. I did take a stroll around the mall just to get a feel of the layout. It is a fairly decent sized mall, and I can see this place being busy back when it first opened and years beyond that. But like one reviewer has stated in a prior review, once stores started open up on the main drag through town which make those stores more accessible to the university students, the mall started to decline. Along my route through the mall I did make multiple stops along the way. Into and out of a few select stores. An oddity of this mall is that there is no food court or any type of eatery to speak of. That could be chalked up to the year that it was originally built, 1968. But that does not explain why they didn't think about this with each of the expansions they did on this mall. You could have at least thought about having a food court in one of the wings. Enough with the depressing thoughts about this place. There seems to be some light at the end of this very narrow tunnel. Each of the vacant anchor stores have already been filled, or will be filled shortly. Although, when you think of anchor stores, you don't think of those stores as your typical anchor store. But when you think about it, when you think of a mall now, they do not reflect what a typical mall is. Maybe with the addition of the mini casino here soon that will draw some stores. Whether it be a wonky national chain or a local spot that sees the potential. Only time will tell.

Externally, the mall around the former Bon-Ton looks massively out of date. The mall is also small for an area with such a large population. Parking lot is in surprisingly good shape except for parts around the former Macy's. Every anchor since 2015 has left Nittany Mall, with the only replacement being Dunham's Sports. Rural King is to open in the former Sears at a TBD date. Nittany's layout is similar to the now closed Phillipsburg Mall in New Jersey. Interior was clearly renovated at some point as the mall has a 90's color scheme. Nittany's interior is in surprisingly good shape with almost no water damage, a common sight in a mall like this. Tenant mix is that of a dying mall. Several national chains still call the mall home, but those are mixed among the many empty storefronts. Several local businesses have space here. Planet Fitness has no mall entrance, a bad thing for the amount of space they occupy. A local senior center also uses space. Mall does have a bookstore, Bradley's Book Outlet. Nittany Mall has no food court. I would estimate Nittany Mall will not be open in five years, but some of the anchors might. After seeing this mall in person, it would also be a challenge to de-mall portions of Nittany without significant investment. The current owners, Namdar Realty Group, do not make those investments, making the future of the mall uncertain.

Imagine my surprise when it arrived in this small little package and when I opened it there was an adorable stuffed aloe toy ! Lindsay store owner was awesome. She noted it would be easier to care for but sent me a return label immediately!! What a great experience albeit slightly humiliating to admit . I recommend this store to anyone looking for children's products . Aloe plant will be missed it was adorable.. thank you Bear
