A good secondhand shop in a college town is always a good idea due to the quick turn around of students and clothing and makes for an affordable option for theme parties and projects. I love that their "wares" isle is always color coordinated and their glass section is always popping. I have weirdly spotted some super awesome kid finds (and amazing supermarket play setup and an antique dollhouse) but alas I don't have kids yet, so I would have no use for those things. Overall as an alum who frequently visit State College, this is always a must do before I head home.

I also love that items are donated, which reduces pollution and environmental impact as well as keeps viable things out of the landfills. Plus, depending on factors, there are some great bargains to be discovered. My glaring con, though, is something rather commonplace now among thrift stores and that is the overpriced or limited shipping options. I put a few items in my cart today ($32 worth) and was shocked to see shipping costs of nearly $20 for USPS Priority Mail without other shipping options available. When I removed an item, the shipping cost *stayed the same*. Unless you have particularly deep pockets, I'd consider this place more of an in-store visit only, unfortunately.

Resale has higher prices for store credit versus cash. We always leave with a few items, lots of books, and we are usually successful with shoes too. Friendly staff and easy.
