best Goodwill store I have ever gotten to and will continue to come too.I love this store so much and I buy alot of gems that I get there

State College NEEDED a bigger Goodwill and they have since moved from westerly parkway to their LARGE Benner Pike location. A good secondhand shop in a college town is always a good idea due to the quick turn around of students and clothing and makes for an affordable option for theme parties and projects. I love that their "wares" isle is always color coordinated and their glass section is always popping. I have weirdly spotted some super awesome kid finds (and amazing supermarket play setup and an antique dollhouse) but alas I don't have kids yet, so I would have no use for those things. Overall as an alum who frequently visit State College, this is always a must do before I head home. read more

This is one of the worst Goodwill's I've ever been to. They have items that are clearly from the dollar store marked up for more. I can't even explain how high their prices are on broken items, cheap items. It's amazing. Goodwill has completely lost the plot. They have forgotten who their customer is. The better items, they now sell online, they never even make it to the store. The ones in store are there because they're not worth much. They no longer sell furniture at the store either. They will have some scratched up, dented tables or chairs every once in a while, but again the prices are ridiculous. read more

The store is clean and organized. A few of the staff are very nice, great customer service. They make my shopping experience enjoyable. The others look like the do not want to be bothered. Do not greet you, nor say thank you. Unfortunately, this facility does not have dressing rooms available (that I saw). So, it's like playing Russian roulette when purchasing clothes. I think it would be easier/helpful to find what you are looking for if the clothing items were colored coordinated. read more

The employees are nice, but the manager behaves like you owe him money. Their prices are skyrocketing!

To some extent, all Goodwills are the same. Miscellaneous items of varying quality and generally unreasonably high prices for what you get (I've always preferred other thrift stores to Goodwill purely based on prices). This one is nice because it's so large and they currently have a big Halloween section up. It doesn't seem super well organized to me but I've only been there a couple times so maybe it makes more sense the more you look around. The staff is incredibly odd. One girl was stocking shelves and her cart was somehow always in the way of every shopper and she looked very unpleasant so I tried to avoid that side of the store. Other than that, it's a typical goodwill and you may find random treasures, or you may not. read more

Last week I returned two items of $7. Then two workers working as cashiers said they could not refund cash and told me to find other items right away. So, I purchased another item by paying $ 12 dollars more. However, it was not good and returned it next day. But I could not find another item right away and talked to the manager. Then, he said I did not have to buy another item right away. He said I could buy another item within two weeks, and he kindly signed my receipt about it. So, the two workers did not know about the return policy and asked me to find another item right away. They should learn the policy correctly. read more

My parents cleaned out their garage yesterday & donated something to Goodwill that was mine! I went in and asked for assistance to find the item & they were extremely helpful! I did find it on the floor & bought it back! read more

I'm not a State College native, so I'm not sure if there is another Goodwill in town. I only saw one listed on yelp. To note, the Goodwill is now over by the Walmart/Sams (College Ave.). I think it opened either late last year or earlier this year. The store is huge. There's tons of DVDs and CDs. Lots of room to walk around. They section most everything out, but some of the areas are a bit disorganized. I was looking for kids toys and the aisle had other more household items (some glass, which if you bring your kid can be difficult if your kid like to touch everything...'what's this?' A giant glass jar.) The kids clothes were also a bit jumbled in if it looks sort of small, then it goes over here and if it looks bigger goes over there. So, you do have to pick through it. Still, I thought it had a good selection of items. I did not see a bathroom, which also can be helpful if you have a little one. read more

I'm not sure why everyone has given it such great reviews. Their full prices of used clothing are crazy high. I can often buy new from department stores for cheaper. If you go on Sunday or Monday and can find anything worth buying at the clearance price of 59¢, then you'll do well. I highly recommend the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store also in Westerly Parkway Plaza. Their full prices are very reasonable. It's staffed by volunteer employees. They help underprivileged people in the community with their profits. read more

Very junky, dirty store...even by goodwill standards. I would not recommend and I will not go back.

My wife is a goodwill connisseur, so I have seen, smelled, heard, and been clothed in the fruit of her interests. So, from my rather unfortunate and unintentional vast knowledge of Goodwill stores from Florida to Scranton and everywhere in between, suffice it to say that this one may be the most impressive of the lot. It's big. It's stocked. It's quality merchandise. It's clean-ish. It's goodwill. Case in point: men's pants are so prolific that circular racks are filled with pants of the same waist size...yes, that's about 60 pairs of the same waist size. Shirts, etc. Are also arranged by size and ls/ds, etc. The only caveat: Sundays, we found out, is $.39 day for certain tags. Read: store is packed. Ooh, the humanity. Everywhere. Heard there was a fight brewing over a kids' art table, but left before fireworks were underway. Lines were incredibly long this Sunday...but. hey, everyone loves a good deal. Wife can't wait to come back...it's in her top 3, so we will indeed be back! read more

I absolutely love coming to this Goodwill whenever I have a few hours to spare. I have been here at least a dozen times to browse their merchandise and even more to make donations. The store is always clean, well organized, and friendly. I seem to always find cool treasures and steals each time I am in the store. For example, I recently found a like new J Crew blazer for $4 and 7 For All Mankind jeans for $6! Plus, they have shelves upon shelves of paperback and hardback books. Also, Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays are Senior Citizen, Military, and Student Discount (with current ID) days. read more

I really love this Good Will store. We have found some great furniture odds and ends and there is always unique clothing in plentiful supply. They have Super Shopper cards where you get a stamp for every $10 you spend and when you spend $100 you get 50% off your entire next purchase except white tags. Sundays and Mondays they have last week's tag day at $.35 housewares and $.49 tags clothes. Every other day is a selected tag at 50% off. Seniors, military and students get 15% off Tues, Thurs and Sun. The store is pretty organized and clothing arranged by size. read more
