I kept hoping this store would go back to its old glory, but as the holiday season approaches, it's clear that it'll be all down hill from here. The place is a MESS. Good luck finding the same articles of clothing together, let alone the size you need.
If the staff could manage to work while they chat, it wouldn't be so bad. But unfortunately they don't seem to be able to do two things at once. Not sure whether it's supervision that's lacking or the correct staffing numbers, but I would avoid this location until they figure it out.
The Old Navy Outlet at Tanger feels slightly more spacious and infinitely cleaner than the Fruitville Pike location. I realize It helps that this is a new space - complete with bright lights and shiny fixtures - but I really can't emphasize how nasty the other store has become.
Great selection of men's, women's, and children's clothing, and pretty low pricing to boot - typical Old Navy in that regard.
The only observations I made that were not so great were:
1) The registers are oddly placed in the middle of the store toward the front, and with holiday shopping in full swing, the line quickly stretched all the way to the entrance. Makes it frustrating when you're just trying to get into the store, but people won't let you in because they they don't want to leave a gap in the check-out line. Reminds me of trying to merge onto Route 30 - NO ONE YIELDS. Anyway, hopefully that'll be less of a nuisance after the holidays.
2) They were pretty short staffed for the crowd. There were three cashiers at the registers, a fourth on the phone trying to fix a register, and one random clerk back by the fitting rooms. Need help reaching something up high? Finding a different size or color? Good luck.
Regardless, I'll definitely be shopping here instead of the Fruitville Old Navfrom now on. read more
