Ahh, I can remember the days before Old Navy was a household name, when the prices were extraordinarily low (like super crazy low) and the apparel was fashionable but not mainstream so your outfit was unique. People would ask "where did you get that!?" and then jaws would drop when you would tell them how little it cost. Fast forward to the present day ... Old Navy has become a staple in many wardrobes and is still quite affordable and fashion-forward. We are talking casual wear with the occasional dressy item. This is my go-to for ath-leisure apparel (yoga pants, workout tanks) and "weekend clothes" (t-shirts, shorts, sundresses, etc).
There are a few personal rules I follow when shopping at Old Navy, that I'll share for those interested:
1. Never, ever pay full sticker price for an item. Give it a week or two and it will go on sale.
2. Sign up for the Old Navy card - yeah, you're opening a line of credit BUT it really does have great bonus features ranging from additional discounts to rewards for every dollar spent.
3. Get the emails - you will get notification of all deals and discounts happening in store and online. And they run specials ALL the time. Which is why I have rule #1 (don't every pay full price!)
This specific Old Navy pretty much follows all corporate standards -- the store is well-stocked, generally well-organized and clean. Most of the employees are helpful and friendly, but a few do seem to just be collecting a paycheck. When I first started shopping at the Mt P location (June 2016), I would notice a cigarette smell in the back of the store (near the clearance section.) Logic would tell me the employee exit door for smoke breaks was near that back corner and the smell would waft in. But lately (Feb 2017) it hasn't been noticeable, so the culprits may be gone or they may have cracked down on procedures. Either way, its a better shopping experience now! read more
