I was greeted the minute I walked in the door and was assisted by 2 sales associates - a gentleman who appeared to be in charge and a young lady by the name of Cheyenne who was in training. Both of them were so helpful and I was able to order everything that day for the groom and groomsmen in less than an hour. The next time I went to this store (a month after my first visit) with my fiance for his fitting Cheyenne was again working and remembered me immediately and assisted us on her own with the fitting and was able to answer every question we had - very impressive considering she was still fairly new- and in such a pleasant, friendly manner!! I again had to visit the store a week later as we had a change in groomsmen and wasn't sure how to do it. I walked in and immediately was greeted with a warm welcome and there was Cheyenne ready to assist and again was able to make all the changes I needed quickly and efficiently as if she'd been doing this for years - it's such a relief as a customer knowing you have someone to service you who knows what they're doing and is on top of everything - having been in customer service for over 10 years myself I have no doubt Cheyenne's abilities along with her personality will continue to be a great asset to the Greenfield store!!!!

No help with anything else. No follow up questions. We asked if we could try it on and if there were any pants to get a look of a tux versus just putting a jacket on to decide a wedding outfit. She kept reiterate everything comes from Texas. Manager finally told her to grab a pair of pants and shoes (she only brought 1 shoe). Ended up leaving due to poor service. Will probably go to a different location.

Perfume is a total personal fragrance that you have to smell to find just what you would like give someone so samples are needed and they do let you sample the fragrances. I told the nice woman helping me that I wanted a perfume and money is no issue so give me 4 samples of what you think is a good perfume to give a woman from a man who doesn't know anything about buying perfume. She took me around the fragrance department and let me sample name recognized perfumes and I did find one of the 4 samples that I really liked. She was so helpful to a man who didn't know what he was doing and made the whole process easy me. She totally made feel comfortable with picking a fragrance that I thought would be a nice gift and fit. Actually I found something really nice and it was not very expensive at all because I was going spend at least twice as much in my mind I thought. Yah any perfume purchases in the future will go to Macy's for sure.

I went to all the department stores in the mall and also to Men's Warehouse on 76th Street. Macy's, Boston Store, JC Penny's and Men's Warehouse just didn't have the selection and customer service I received from James at Bachrach. James wasn't pushy or hawk over you like a used car salesman. He just asked what I like and waited on me and my wife until I had tried on all the suits I wanted. They had a 2 for 1 sale on suits. So I put a black and navy suit on hold while we checked out the other stores. The other stores either didn't have enough choices or the sales people didn't care enough for our business. So I ended up going back to Bachrach to get measured up and finish my purchase. 2 suits, 2 ties, and alterations were $500 and the customer service by James was spectacular. We found out that he was the manager of the store and didn't work off commission. I told him I was impressed with his customer service and said I'll see ya Friday when I come pick up my suits! Why pay for the snobbishness at a chain store or large department store when you can get treated like a celebrity at Bachrach and still get a great deal...James is the man.

While perusing the many aisles, I was approached by two different sales people at different times who were very polite, offering help. When told no thanks, they left me alone which I appreciated, as opposed to some other stores that have sales people that "helicopter" their shoppers. When finding one of the pair of shoes I wanted in my size, I grabbed the box and realized that it only had one shoe in it; the other was the display model. I brought them to the checkout area and asked a woman behind the register, whom I believe was the store manager, to verify it was okay to use the display shoe. I then asked her if she could keep the shoes there for me while I continued shopping. Though little was said, she was very unfriendly and curt in her response. When taking the second pair of shoes I found in my size, the same thing occurred. I picked up the shoe box in my size and discovered that it, too, was missing a shoe and the other was the display model. I also brought this to the register with the same lady store manager and said, "Would you believe that both shoes I wanted to buy today in my size were used for the display? Isn't that funny?" ... referring to the coincidence and irony. Apparently, my comment irritated her because she made a face at me and rudely admonished me with some garbage about their inventory and store policy. The store has a large parking lot and shouldn't be a problem parking. All-in-all, this store deserves at least a four (4) star rating, but the fact that this woman behind the counter and most probably the store manager was so unfriendly, surly and rude to me, they get three stars.

The whole vibe of the store is a bit haphazard and while there's tons of stock, there's not necessarily tons of stock in a variety of sizes (ie: not all sizes were represented). I placed an online order and opted to pick it up at the Greendale, WI store. Everything was going…read morewell until I noticed an entry on the receipt that was puzzling. There was a shipping/handling charge ($3.95). What's the problem? Well, their website advertised "Free shipping to store". Upon seeing this I asked the sales clerk about it. She is aware of the JC Penney policy to not having s/h charges for items picked at their stores. Thus began a lengthy, time-consuming chain reaction. The sales clerk tried to summon a manager, a process that took several minutes (note that employees are spread thin here). She too is aware of the "No s/h" policy for items picked up at the store. Both said they hadn't encountered this problem before. One thought a relatively simple process would solve this dilemma, but the other said it couldn't be done (in essence, "return" the item on the spot, then buy it again. Not having a solution, another manager was summoned. After conferring with the other 2 employees and me, she concluded that it would be necessary for me to call one of their 800 numbers. These 3 ladies seemed knowledgeable and competent; however, with no policy or solution in place, there was nothing else they could do. Apologies were made. The Penney's chain needs to have clear-cut directions if this happens, not leave their workers with no guidance. As of now, the burden is placed upon me (the customer). I must spend time calling the 800 number. Not sure if someone there can resolve the issue.Stay tuned for further developments!
