New location and it was HARD to find even with navigation. No signs to help at all. However, totally worth the hunt. Hubby had a flight and I had a Jala-peach-me and it was peach vodka with a lime/jalapeno infused mixer. 10 out of 10 recommendation. Beautiful view and venue. Service was on point. A must visit for out of towners.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Stumpy's Spirits and enjoy their tour! Please sign up in advanced for the tour. The $12 cost is well worth it! We had tastings of their lineup of spirits and then was offered a cocktail from their curated list to enjoy while we walked around during the distillery tour. You also get to keep the souvenir glass! We were lucky enough to have our tasting and tour conducted by the 8th generation owner of Stumpf Farms, Adam Stumpf, and his wife Laura. They were the sweetest people and Adam was so knowledgeable about the distilling process. Please make this a roadtrip destination this summer because it is worth the visit. Their tasting room is beautifully stocked with their spirits and neat gifts that complement their spirit offerings and branded Stumpy's merchandise.

Quaint distillery in Illinois, have had their spirits elsewhere but nice selection at the distillery. People were very nice, the barreling room and the rest of the tour wascool and it was interesting to see the history. Bottles were a little expensive but quality was great

Decided to take my partner here for a date for a tour and tasting. Everyone was super nice and inviting from beginning to end. Love that this is a family owned business and they do everything in-house. They go through a pretty full tasting from vodka to whiskey to bourbon. After the tasting they make sure you have a cocktail to go on the tour of the distillery. Shoutout to Katie who did out tasting and Devin who did our tour. Both were very knowledgeable of the distillery, the history and the products. We had a really good time. Looking for something affordable and cool to do and get a little buzz? Check out Stumpy's!

Rachel (server/presenter) EXCELLENT! Knowledgeable and extremely personable. Enjoyed the Eighth Gin, Pecan Pie Bourbon and Peach Vodka. We were honored to have Adam Stump (owner) take us on a private Distillery tour. FUN afternoon during Phase 2 of the pandemic with the Rue's on 6/25/2020.

I just randomly stopped by the other day. I am always on the look out for new distilleries and this was in my route AND it was open. I headed off the main road, drove for less than a mile and saw this large building in the middle of a corn field with the distillery name on the front. There weren't a lot of cars so I didn't know what to expect. I feel bad for not recalling names but I was greeted by who I eventually found out was the wife of the distiller and then the distiller himself. It was a lobby area with a sampling bar and other products around. Through double french doors you could see the main distilling room. Another couple happened to show up and the owner was more than happy to give a tour and description of the processes they use. He is very proud that they use all local products to make the spirits. They can get what they need right out the door or in the ground and the byproducts go back to the local farms. It was nice to hear all the steps, be able to see and smell the product at different stages, and then eventually head out for a taste. For $2 (and an ID) you can sample what they sell: Vodka, White whiskey, and bourbon. The distiller hung around during the sampling and answered all our questions. Other folks showed up for samples, products, and tours. The tour was nothing fancy but very informative. I hope they succeed and to that end I left with some of their products and will most likely be back.

A small organized set-up that has really exploded since their opening in 2014. The tasting room bar area had a lot of flare, with the side wall showcasing incredible chalk artistry about how spirits are produced and a whole collection of wearables hung about. The two cats, one named barley were not shy about playing on everything that appeared stable enough. The two leaders of the tour were very enigmatic and explained the process well. I feel like I came away from the experience more knowledgeable about all things spirits and Stumpy's. I was bummed that the other building was under renovation though so we weren't able to view barrels and the still. Bought plenty of alcohol for home though, the barrel aged pecan pie whiskey is definitely a gateway whiskey. And the gin was even palatable...

And by the way, the gin they're making here is amazing. They have a few different gins, but my favorite was Volstead's Folly, which is juniper forward with a bit of pine. I love a good botanical gin, and this one was perfect. Another spirit that stood out that I tried was the Big Jake, which is a whiskey with natural coffee flavors in it. I had never tried anything like that before! I don't know if I could down a shot of it, but I could see this being a good addition to an espresso-flavored cocktail. Anyway, the tasting portion of the tour was my favorite, of course. We got to taste three different spirits of our choosing. But we also got to see the small distillery, and we were taken to the back where the barrels were. There's not a whole lot to see because Still 630 is a small operation. But the owner was friendly and funny, so he made the tour well worth the trip.

We sat there for hours as I enjoyed a few of their beers and she sipped vodka. It's been a favorite place for us to visit when we come in town since then. We have been for brunch and drinks here and there, but this time was our first lunch. The beer list is diverse and very good. I haven't had a bad one yet, and I've tried anything from IPAs to seasonals. The burger with BBQ also did not disappoint! The fries are some of the best I've had in STL. I did wish there were more of them, but it's probably best for me to not have an endless amount. Every time we have gone, the servers and bartenders have been attentive and friendly. We have gone in the middle of the afternoon and late at night, and always enjoyed the company. Usually we sit at the bar and make friends with fellow drinkers. The outside area for brunch is also very enjoyable. It's one of my favorite patios when the weather is nice. There are many good establishments to visit at and around Lafayette Square. For a meal or a drink, I can't recommend this place enough.

I think we've now experienced all the aspects of this fine establishment: the beer, the whiskey,…read morethe food, and the overnight accommodations! I highly recommend all of the above. We recently got a room at the Red Rooster; booking online was easy and prices were reasonable. We were in town on Christmas Day, so the bar (brewery, distillery, restaurant) was closed. We didn't see any staff; we had a key code for the building and for our room. Our room was upstairs, and a couple of staircases were available (I don't recall whether there's an elevator). Everything was clean and cozy. After going out for the night, we thought we'd enjoy the lounge area and game room, but the game room wasn't accessible (turns out it's part of the bar). The lounge space was available; there weren't a lot of lights on except for those on the Christmas tree and other decorations, which was just fine for sitting a bit. Checkout the next morning was easy, and we were cheerfully greeted by staff when we came down. About the bar: on more recent visit we stopped in for dinner. Patrons were enjoying the patio and bar space; an adjoining room, game room, and loft space were also available. We took barstools and received great service there. Restaurant: Order food with your server and you'll get a text when it's ready; pick up is at the window in the game room. The 1/4 pound burger seemed to be a bit less so; it was a thin "smashed" burger with cheddar and some really good sauce, on a bun that was unnecessarily coated in butter or oil. Side salad was fresh and crispy, and house-made ranch was exceptionally good. Fries are the coated-double-fried sort, and served plenty hot. Every dish we tried was tasty. Distillery: so far all that's ready to serve is "white whiskey" -- raw unaged spirits with quite a kick! We tried it on the rocks and it was as expected; I'll wait for some aging before I have it in a cocktail, but I love that the option's available! Brewery: The beer list was impressive -- although there may be a mistake, as the Chava Wheat was marked as "gluten sensitivity friendly" (I'm pretty sure wheat is pretty gluteny!) That one--Chava Wheat--is a blood orange wheat "with a hint of raspberry" and was easily my fave. They brew several lagers and IPAs, a stout, and seasonals. This is a great one-stop for a night out, a road trip stop, or a small-town getaway for city folks! To make a longer day of it, shop Main Street, take in a show at the theater, and grab breakfast at one of the nearby cafés the next morning. Cheers!

Hundreds of Hops self-guided US Hop Passport Tour Amazing Brewery Race Stop 1 of 2 for ILLINOIS…read more We drove about 1.5hrs to hit one of the two add-on breweries for Illinois in the Hop Passport. Due to the weird Illinois laws on alcohol, they offered 10% off foid/merch in the book. The staff was unfamiliar with the passport & called overall 2nd staff person. They said it wasn't valid -discount denied. We still opted to eat & drink here. Each of us selected a beer and a dish. I went with the rooster salad, which was an excellent flavor combination & I really needed something greens! The chicken on it, however, was dry and took away from the salad - so, I took it off & enjoyed my salad without the chicken. The hubs opted for the grown-up grilled cheese and it was pretty tasty. Exactly what it sounds like. As this location probably doesn't see much in the way of the Hop Passports, it's not too shocking that they weren't aware of it. The prices were plenty reasonable enough to not feel put out by it either. The entire place is quirky, with "Easter eggs" throughout, a fun / tasty menu & an overall good vibe. It's certainly a gorgeous stop.
