While not the most luxurious place to stay, it served its purpose well as a place to sleep for a night before heading to Neuschwanstein. If you're just backpacking around and don't want to pay the high prices of the hotels in the area, this will be a good choice to have a clean bed and a warm shower. A few specifics about the hotel: - There aren't any large lockers to fit a backpack in, but small lockers are available if you put a deposit down - Towels are available to rent for $1 - Like all the hostels I visited in Germany, you're required to make your bed at first, and take down your sheets at checkout - At check in, a map of Fussen and the castle area is provided, which was very helpful to figure out where to head, and make sure you catch the right bus. In addition, a discount is given at check in for $1-2 off the castle ticket - It's a very small hostel, but there's only one toilet and two showers for men - One odd quirk about the bathroom is that the light in the bathroom turned off quickly, and you have to open bathroom or shower door quickly to activate motion sensor to turn on the light again. Old Kings Hostel - Window overlooks street. - Hostels Near Me - Füssen, BY

We stayed here for two nights and our experience was ok. We had trouble getting our keys the first night. Late check in is after 9 and we arrived at 845 and the main entrance was locked. To get your keys you need your reservation code which is apparently different than your confirmation code. Thankfully someone was exiting the hostel and we were able to pick our keys in the front entrance. Otherwise I'm not sure what we would have done. Location wise the hostel is a great choice. Fussen is cute and nice to walk around and grab a drink or bite to eat. It's also very close to the train station and getting to the neustwastien castle is a short 10 minute bus ride (around 4 euro round trip). The Hostel also has decent priced drinks and snacks. My travel companion and I were able to have a nice beer for 3 euro sitting out at the front tables. This place is good if your looking for a cheap spot to stay but if you are looking for something more upscale I would avoid it. The futon in our room was pretty stained so we elected to share the lofted bed. read more

My brother and I stayed here for a night while passing through Füssen. The couple that owns the hostel was so friendly and attentive. The hostel itself was located right in the heart of Füssen, within walking distance of several great restaurants and the train station. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious - I was impressed by the fact that there were two showers in the women's bathroom alone. We opted to pay extra for the breakfast, which was well worth it. Definitely worth a visit if you're lucky enough to find yourself in this scenic town. read more

Stayed here for 2 nights as I toured some of the castles in the area. Very convenient location to drive 10 min to famous castle sites. The owner was very helpful offering a ton of great information on the area including restaurants, other less visited castles and local shopping. Wifi was good and reliable, also had beer and wine available for sale in the hostel common area. read more
