I've literally been here a little over 2 hours, and I'm blown away with how great the staff is! This is a beautiful hotel, and I can't wait to check out everything it has to offer. It's a boutique hotel with great location, great rooms, wonderful staff and the best breakfast buffet! Con- My electrical adaptors for Europe do not fit the fancy receptacles. They list as having parking, but only have 8 spaces that were not available. read more

I really love this hotel. Location: The location is in the town and you can walk to everything. They have free parking outside but it is small. Also a covered parking garage below. Right across the street there is a supermarket which is great for stocking up on bottled water or snacks. Room: Our room was gorgeous. Love the quirky design. The beds are soooo comfy - like memory foam. I took full advantage of the large spa like tub and the complimentary bath salts. Room had a hair dryer and really yummy smelling bath products. Please note - they do not provide conditioner so if that is important, pack your own. Breakfast: Awesome breakfast. Great cappuccinos, bacon, sausage, eggs, cold cuts, fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice. Best hotel breakfast I've had in Europe. Other: There was a small gym area and wellness oasis with sauna, etc. very nicely appointed with hot teas, etc. I really loved their offer to make me a cappuccino for the road When we checked out, they presented my five year old with a small stuffed toy. Still a great place when in the area. They have some cool theme rooms but if you like them you need to plan ahead as they book up fast. This place is only minutes from the Castles in the area and so much to do here. Located near city center so anything you need is walking distance. We were here near the end of October fest and I love the workers everywhere dressed in the traditional outfits. Certainly the women. The downtown area was very busy and many shops to see and walk through. If you love the outdoors this is a great area to visit with the trails, campgrounds, river, etc. Highly recommend the Hotel and city. Located near the center of town, and thus offering convenient access to nearby shopping, Hotel Sonne offers comfortable accommodations plus a 24/7 gym at a fair price. Not luxurious, and lacking for parking due to construction during our visit, those not in need of a gym can certainly find better deals throughout town, though Sonne's offering of rooms large enough for four adults is noteworthy. read more

They get plenty of business probably because their location is so awesome. But the rooms themselves, while they scream personality, are really tight (in Via Claudia). We tried to get Neuschwanstein tickets through the hotel and that was just confusion upon confusion. We ended up just going there first thing in the morning and saving ourselves the couple of extra euros it would have cost to go through the front desk. read more

Beautiful cozy hotel in the little town of Fussen, about a 2-3 minute walk from the Fussen train station, so very convenient to drag your luggage with you and to go back to the train station to take the bus to the castles. All the rooms are decorated differently so it's hard to comment on each one; random Bavarian costumes in the stairwells and hallways. Delicious breakfast the next morning (included in price of the room)... fresh squeezed orange juice machine, all sorts of jams and honeys, cheeses, variety of teas, etc. Wifi also free. They also helped us book tickets to the castle for the following morning. read more

We rolled into town looking for a hotel for the night, and we were lucky to find the Hotel Sonne. It was one of the better places we stayed for our trip, and the price was a good value. We had one of the "Via Claudia" rooms, which have a funky design flair (shag carpeting, for example, done well). Staff was very friendly and helpful - even found our motorcycle a place to park for free (cars have to pay). WiFi and breakfast was included. read more

Great find. Very attentive people at the front desk and the room was very good. No A/C, but we did not need it as the window opened to the balcony. If it was a very hot day, I guess it would be a concern. At the front desk, ask for the free "Fussen Card" - one per person. This gives you discount at the Castles, PLUS free bus rides on the local buses to the castle and other local areas. The best part of the hotel was breakfast (Wow!). It was amazing. It is included in the room cost. The service was good, but more than that everything on the buffet was extremely delicious. It is not a stretch to say that it was equivalent to an extensive buffet at a US 5 star hotel, without the stuffiness. Orange juice was freshly squeezed in the machine right in front of you. Several regular US dishes (yogurts, breads, eggs, etc.), several German dishes (which I cannot describe, but they looked great), and some fresh sushi and freshly baked bread. Location is about 5-10 minutes walk from the train station - in the heart of town. They have lockers in the basement where you can store your luggage for the day if you check out and need a place for your bags. read more

This is the hotel in which I judge all other hotels. It is cute, romantic and charming. Each room is unique. The décor is beautiful. The area will take your breath away, especially in the fall. Plus the staff treats you like family and you feel at home. this is where you go for a romantic get away. Or even a mother-daughter girl's trip. read more

Great hotel! I stayed in late May. It is located in the edge of downtown, very close to train station. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The decorations are delicate. Free Wi-Fi! The room is not huge but very clean and like brand new. I have had great experience in this hotel. read more

Great helpful staff in the center of this beautiful town. Good hotel for families (we went with our two kids -- 9 and 12), and the included breakfast is amazing. You can park there also, but be sure to reserve the space in advance in their underground parking garage. They have a small surface lot also, but it fills up. read more
