Great location. Very easy to get off the train in Fussen and hop on the 73 or 78 bus toward the castles. There's a bus stop very close to the hotel. We got off the train in Fussen at 11:55, dropped our bags off at the hotel about 12:30, hopped the next bus toward the castles and were at the castle ticket office at 1 p.m. (13,00).
We had a spectacular view of both Hohenschwangau Castle and Neuschwanstein Castle from the balcony of our room here at Hotel Waldmann.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant and the food and service were very good.
The room was very nice, modern, and clean. The beds were comfortable. My one complaint about the physical layout of the room is the wood corners of the king size bed are hard and sharp, and I bashed my shins on those wood corners of the bed at least 3 times in 24 hours.
Although they have free WiFi, they require a separate user name and password for each device, and pretty much every time your phone goes to sleep and you open your phone screen again, you have to reenter the user name and password and log-in again. It's an inconvenience, but it's manageable.
All that being said, I would happily go back here to stay again. read more
