I hurried up to finish my Huckleberry ice cream cone from the ice cream shop when I saw this travel shopping experience awaiting me. Once inside, I liked how woodsy and rustic it was and how the employees (who are seasonal, BTW) did not hover over you. I realize there are people who have sticky fingers when they travel --or even every day-- BUT I am not one of them. I browsed around until I found some nice postcards and a DVD of Old Faithful and geysers in Yellowstone that my daughter had requested. I found a marked-down Yellowstone T-shirt ($7.99) for an elderly neighbor who really wanted to visit but since she is 100 years old---I don't think so. While getting rung up by a very nice male cashier, the lady in front of me asked for the "special of the day." Heads up--when you shop at the Gift Shop, they feature one special item on sale daily. On this day, it was a beautiful fleece blanket with scenes of Old Faithful & Yellowstone on it. I was thrilled when I watched the lady snag one for only $12. So I bought one too and I love it! 5 YELP STARS for a great gift shop that is NOT a tourist trap but located in a very funky western hotel in a beautiful National Park that features geysers right outside the front door!

I'd more consider The Cave a gift shop that sells liquor, not a liquor store that sells gifts. Frankly, we were looking for a few, classy, Big Sky branded gifts/local gifts to take home for family and The Cave did not disappoint. I found an awesome burgundy beanie hat, a beautiful Christmas ornament and locally made dreamcatcher. Was it all a little pricey? I'm not going to lie, I paid almost $50 for a super soft beanie, but we're in Big Sky, and it is what it is. The store is super expansive, neat and well-stocked. From Big Sky to sweatshirts to local soaps and salves, you can find whatever you're looking for.
