The hospitality by Sue was 1st class, she was warm, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was a delight with every attention to comfort and detail imaginable. The breakfast was a culinary delight and we were only sorry that we couldn't find an excuse to stay longer. We were even conveyed back to the wedding venue to collect our vehicle. I would recommend these premises to anyone. The finest independent B&B we have ever stayed in.

The chef knows how to layer subtle flavors so that the dish ends up surpassing the ingredients he (or she?) uses. I ordered the £9.95 "Meal Deal" of Risotto, but this had to be the best Risotto I've ever eaten. Other family members ordered a plate of prawns, smoked salmon and soup (£10.95), and a rarebit and soup (£6.95). We shared a cheese platter (£8.50) for dessert. Every bite was exquisite. Our server, Huw, also deserves high praise. He understands fine dining, met our every need, and deserved a nice tip, which we were more than happy to leave.

After chatting to the man who runs the place he offered us a nights stay at £50. Unfortunately, when he went to show us the room, it was not tidy and it was quite a mess, however, once I pointed this out to him, he was apologetic and showed us to another room. It was a quiet place and I think we were the only guests there. I was not too sure about the decor, there were a few too many pictures of Queen Victoria around and I'm not sure why either. Very peculiar. The bedroom was basic, which was fine as were only staying because it was convenient, rather than for leisure. The odd thing about the room was that the shower was a unit opposite the bed rather than in a separate en suite, meaning that you were pretty much showering in the bedroom, perhaps this is an old fashioned thing?! Overall, it was a simple room and that was what we needed. If I had been staying here for leisure I would have been disappointed as it is a little dated and the facilities are not to a great standard. I think it suits the needs for business people or those who need somewhere to sleep for the night. The service was good and the price was reasonable.

Cath got us set up in clean, comfortable, cozy rooms with hot showers and fluffy towels. Exactly what we needed. I recommend this place for the previously mentioned reasons as well as its location, mere blocks from shopping, restaurants, and hiking trails.

Helpful, courteous, and attentive friendly staff, always there when you need them, but at the same time unobtrusive. The rooms are really spacious, bright & airy with lovely, modern decor, and as mentioned, spotlessy clean. All the usual room comforts are provided such as tea/coffee making facilities, ironing board+iron and TV. The bathroom was really gorgeous too with a roll-top bath plus walk-in shower. Expensive smelling toileties & beautifuly soft white fluffy towels completed the superior ambiance of the whole building. Breakfast was a delightful experience, with excellent quality locally sourced food, and plenty of it. Some things were even home-made too, like the delicious jams and marmalade. Oh, and better not forget to mention that they also cater for veggetarians. There is lots of attention to detail here, with everything you could want to hand - and if it's not there just ask, & you will be given - with a smile, I might add! I can't praise the owners high enough for their unwavering consideration towards their guests, which in my opinion more than ensures return visits, and plenty of them! To summerize: Outstanding. If I could award more than five stars on this reveiw, then believe me, I would - ten times over!!!
