I'm 30 and Dr Haflin has literally been my only general practice doctor since I was born. She's always been great and it's a shame that her office has turned into the 9th circle of Hell. My first trouble came when I moved cross country. I transferred a prescription and had no trouble. I even got more refills when I ran out a couple times. The third time I had to call the office myself to get more refills and when they asked which pharmacy I was using they completely changed face. I was immediately told that I could no longer get more refills. This is a prescription that I had been taking for 10 years at the time. Dr Haflin and a specialist prescribed it. I also don't go to the doctor very often. It may had been 2 years since I'd seen Dr Haflin at that point and this was not out of the ordinary. But suddenly, the fact that I was far away and hadn't seen the doctor in a while meant that I automatically couldn't get refills. It doesn't matter that I've gone years in the past getting numerous refills added to my prescription without seeing anyone, this time was different. This was actually fine as long as it was my doctor's decision. It wasn't, it was the receptionist's decision. The receptionist was now making medical decisions for me. I asked to speak to Dr Haflin and was told that she would say the same thing and that it didn't matter what Dr Haflin said because this was the office's policy. I persisted and I was transferred to an even ruder office worker. I was told that Dr Haflin would call me back. She didn't, most likely because the message never reached her. I called two days later and was given the same run around. I called a week later, and they literally said, "She's not gonna refill it you know," in a particularly snooty way. And of course, Dr Haflin never called me back. My next terrible experience came when I transferred Universities and found I needed to verify my vaccinations. I knew I had had some but I had no idea which or even where. The best bet was to check with Dr Haflin. I would be in NJ for a week so I'd stop by there with the form I needed signed and they could check their record and have it signed. I called before going over, which was a mistake. They immediately started setting up an appointment. I explained that I didn't need one and they insisted that I did. I was able to get there almost a week later, just before leaving NJ. I was warned that they were scheduling an appointment because they wanted to charge me for a doctor's visit just to get a paper signed. This turned out to be true because they didn't even begin to ask why I was there before taking me back. [As an aside, my brother had a similar experience there. He needed a referral and since that required walking around the counter to talk to a secretary, he was charged for a doctor's visit. Also, my brother-in-law was scheduled for an appointment right before I left NJ also just to get some medical records for his kids verified.] But I didn't fight it because I had figured out in the meantime that I'd need at least one shot. I ended up getting three and was charged right there (because I don't have insurance). No biggie, I'd been living and working in San Francisco and they have health reimbursement accounts set up for those without insurance. Basically, I pay up front then send the receipt to the account manager and they pay me back out of whatever funds my employer has put into the account on my behalf. As I was leaving, I asked for an itemized receipt. I've done this at numerous other offices with no trouble at all. This time was different. I was told to wait a bit for Dr Haflin to put together a receipt for me. For some reason, the office assistants are able to calculate it to charge me but not to write a receipt. I waited 20 minutes and was told Dr Haflin wouldn't be able to get to it until tomorrow. This was ok, I'd just have them send it to me. A week later I call and nothing is available. A week later, same story and they redirect me to their billing department in a different state. After at least 10 calls over the course of 3 months, I finally received a receipt. This is absolutely unacceptable by any definition of the word. Where else can you go, pay a large sum of money, and not get a receipt for months even with constant hassling? Despite the fact that Dr Haflin is the only family doctor I've ever known, and the fact that I'm still happy with how she treats me, I would never ever ever use this office again. They're extremely rude and beyond dysfunctional. They'll find ways to charge you for every little thing and their receptionists will act as your doctor, giving you no recourse. Seriously, do not go there. If you do, beg and plead for Dr Haflin to fire her whole office.

I call to get a filling replaced. I make the appointment they call the day before to cancel. I…read morerescheduled 9:30 today. I completed my on line paperwork before I arrive. ( NEVER anywhere to park not even the dead of winter) go in all is fine. Then I hear them say my name no she is not here. They call my name I go to the counter CC. what's your emergency? ME I don't have an emergency. I just need a filling replaced CC. Where is the pain ? ME. I don't have any pain? CC We can't just replace a filling. You need to be seen. You are due for a clean and an XRay. Me. Ok so why didn't they tell me this when I made the announcement? Can't they just do it all today.? CC. NO we are booked today we see patients every 15 mins. You would have to come back ME deep breath fine I go sit. It is now 9:45. At 10 30 mins after my appointment that has now turned into not the reason I came. I go back up to the same girl how much longer my appointment was for 9:30. Cc yes we are running behind ME yes I see that but how much longer. Cc well your appointment was for 9:30 ( I am aware and was on time) Me so how much longer do you think I will have to wait CC About 40 minutes they are doing a filling Me I am leaving I hate it there this is was the3ed time I have been there They ALWAYS make you come back for something I have never been to a dentist like this before If you can go somewhere else do yourself a favor go somewhere else.

The staff is NOT friendly or helpful it's like an inconvenience for them to be there. Plus the location is in a projects. Wildwood projects. Im very unhappy about the experience.
