Well I searched for jewelry appraisers on Yelp and for some reason Olaes Smith came up as an option, but apparently they only do real estate! Thomas picked up the phone, was very friendly, and answered several questions I had about jewelry appraisals. His wife entered the room and they also gave me tips on ring insurance in the future. Their advice will actually save my boyfriend some money and give me more peace of mind. I really appreciated that they took time out of their day to talk with me. They were both very helpful and pleasant. Although I don't currently need any real estate appraised, I will keep Olaes Smith in mind for the future! read more

Thomas was one of the most thorough and thoughtful appraisers I have worked with in my 22 year Real Estate Career.  I was the listing agent on a more unique property with not many comps to support the current value.  Thomas went above and beyond to help find comps to support the property and we even went to off market and builder sales.  He was conscientious to ensure that we had all of the supporting data necessary and was truly a pleasure to work with.  We will be calling on Thomas for all of our appraisal needs in the future.  I was beyond impressed with his professionalism. read more

As an Realtor, all I ask for from an appraiser is to communicate well, and provide a fair and honest evaluation of a home. Thomas was excellent with his communication, showed up when he said he would, asked appropriate questions about the home, and listened to what I had to say about the added value and benefits of the home. I can tell that Thomas takes pride in his work and enjoys doing what he does. I first met Thomas when he was doing an appraisal on one of my listings that was in escrow. I had a new listing coming up that was in a difficult area for comps (not many sales in this particular area in the past year and half to two years and not a tract-type neighborhood) so I asked his thoughts. He gave me some good/constructive feedback. Later down the road, when we were close to putting the property on the market, I gave him a call to do an appraisal for us to get an outside & objective opinion of value using different valuation modules in addition to my own. He not only remembered who I was, but even remembered the property - it's always good service when someone remembers who you are in this busy and hectic world. He's good, honest, dependable, and diligent. Thumbs Up! read more
