I came in with a mission to find leather pants for going out tonight. I looked around and saw more seasonal summer selections so I figured I'd ask. Carrie went downstairs and came back up with a wife selection of leather pants all 50% off too! I found the pair I tried before but didn't buy due to the price being a little high. But I got them and she accomodated my 2 year old with coloring and stickers. When you shop here you are treated like a queen! Thank you ladies for styling me again!!!

I've been DYING to check out Bliss ever since they opened a while back, and I finally got a chance…read morewhen we had a particularly long wait at neighboring Farmer's Daughter for brunch. The shop is reminiscent of cute boutiques on Bellevue Ave in Newport, RI or in the Hamptons, and is chock full of cute clothes, fun accessories, and adorable gift items. I had a lovely time perusing the racks upon racks of gorgeous and trendy pieces, and even though the full priced items were.. pricy, the sale selection was excellent. I often find that boutiques will put less than appealing items on the discount rack, but that's not the case at Bliss! Even though I didn't get any new clothes this time around, I'll definitely consider it for next time. What I did end up getting was an amazing enamel necklace that looks like a Ouija board planchet. My boyfriend, who is such a good sport to sit on a comfy couch whilst I shop, actually purchased it for me, and at $15, it was an affordable and super sweet present. I was joking that of course I found the only vaguely goth item in this bubbly and effervescent shop! The salesgirl, Ali, was great and very friendly as well, and made shopping at Bliss a total delight. My first visit here may have been loooooong overdue, but it certainly won't be the last!

Giorgio Armani Newbury Street had one last pair of beautiful forearm length leather gloves from the FW 2012/2013 collection. The quality of craftsmanship and materials in the GA gloves is really beyond anything you'll find in competing designer labels! As it was snowing in Boston when I left the boutique the purchase was instantly put to good use. Several friends have seen these gloves around my home area of Montreal and are trying to relieve me of them! No chance! Thank you to the staff for all your help in purchasing the gloves!

The service at Ports & Company is amazing…read more I'd been searching for a dress for a February wedding, and Ports & Company was the 10th store I'd tried. I wish I'd thought of them sooner. Not only did the staff at the store help me find a beautiful dress, but the dress was also on sale! Ports & Company is also a supporter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter. They provide the clothing to the models in the "Fashion Plates" fashion show and fundraiser. To see pictures of the clothing that was modeled from Ports & Company in 2011 and 2010, visit http://www.nationalmssociety.org/chapters/mam/fundraising-events/fashion-plates/index.aspx The dress I ended up purchasing was one of those modeled at Fashion Plates. (Attending Fashion Plates as a volunteer is how I first heard of Ports & Company.) I'd recommend Ports & Company to women who are looking for clothing and/or accessories that are different from what they find at chain department stores.

I've always found it difficult to find suits off-the-rack, so I tend to just go bespoke. Growing up, my grandmother was a seamstress and my mom worked in a tuxedo shop for most of my childhood--I had a custom tux with tails by the time I was 4. So I'm pretty familiar with the process. I have had suits made all over the world, from the Midwest to Hong Kong. It is a dying artform. I figured that when I moved to a big city full of professionals like Boston, I wouldn't have such a tough time finding a made-to-measure place. Turns out, I was wrong. Boston is completely devoid of tailors who will make women's pantsuits. Why? I couldn't tell you. So, I frankly chose Alan because I had no other option. Was it a good decision? Yes. Alan is charming and professional. His shop has a choice location. He's very thorough. I love his dog, who is the sweetest most well-behaved animal I've seen (those with allergies be forewarned--the dog comes with the office, so medicate as necessary). His assistant is also a sweetheart. The suit took awhile to finish. Maybe 4 months altogether. But I wasn't in a rush. It fits well and I wear it on a regular basis. It came in my absolute fav garment bag. The biggest caveat is price. Suits start between $2-3k. So, while I love Alan, I'm not baller enough to fill my closet with him. If you do have that kind of cash flow, I can't recommend him highly enough.
