Everyone is nice…read more And LOUD. The employees don't even follow the 'quiet area' signs. I asked for a private study room. They are currently closed at this time. (Not their fault) But they are competing for the loudest library award, for sure. I asked him to please keep down. He said 'Oh sure!' In a booming voice . He is sweet, but maybe doesn't get it? When you have 5 people on computers and two on laptops maybe... just maybe they are doing something very important. I mean, I don't know. I'm just a patron. Continue on... The clerks were friendly, helpful and informative...none of that snooty "can't bother to talk to you" attitude here. I was quickly assisted in getting a library card and the nice man gave me a tour of the facility. As homeschoolers, we utilize the public library system quite a bit. I was so happy to see that this county has an online system that let's you request books from other branches. JOY JOY JOY....the angels were singing in my head. What is such a standard library service in California is hard to find here in Texas. But the Grayson County Library System kicks butt and they get it done! So thank you Denison Library for being such a great place for my family to enjoy.

There are two and one is ADA accessible. It's a user friendly interface and once you select your reason, it lists the necessary criteria that you need (for example: completed Form 130UA or something similar). It's so simple, if you don't have all the items then you don't need to waste an hour in line just to be sent away. There is usually a security guard just inside the entrance but I've seen him do a lot of troubleshooting and answering questions as well. I'm not going to lie, I've been here well over an hour on many of my visits. Most of the time I've come around 4pm and my longest visit was close to 2 hours, but that was a couple of years ago and for some reason, I feel like it was around a holiday. However, this time I came right at 3pm on a Tuesday and I was in and out in 20 minutes, including the walk to and from the parking lot! That's not bad at all! When I was there, just under half the stations had employees and there were maybe a dozen or so people waiting. The number system seems to be based on categories and my number was called when I had only been seated 6 or 7 minutes. My interaction with two employees was extremely kind and helpful, though I've never had a bad interaction with any of the employees ever. The main person helping me explained in detail what my two options were and then took care of me very quickly. Honestly, I was dealing with an old title that had previously been lost and I was certain I would need to ask a few questions and then come back at a later time with the rest of the info. Therefore, I was extremely happy with how easy this entire process was. Note, when possible try to come in the mid afternoon, it's unlikely you will get lucky on your lunch break. If you are doing anything with a title, they do not take new people filing titles after 4:30pm, so aim for an earlier visit. You can check their website to download forms ahead of time like I did so you are just asking about specifics before submitting. Also, if you call they tend to have messages listing the criteria as well. Do NOT show up at a government building without your ID. Seriously, what are you thinking? Depending on what you are doing, you may need to also bring proof of insurance and registration, just a good idea to have it easily accessible. They take Visa, Mastercard and Discover but not American Express. When using a card there is a $1 convenience fee. For something you can't avoid forever, they have a relatively painless system in place and I find this a pleasant experience compared to jury duty, license renewal, etc.
