I thought I was ordering all you can eat but...
When I went to pay the bill it was three times what it should have been! The sushi was quite good (not the best I have had, though), but finding out about the very high bill at the end really soured my experience. I told our server from the time that we sat down that I was ordering all you can eat and my wife told her that she was not. When I placed my first order I asked the server if there was sashimi to which she replied, "yes" and pointed to it. I ordered several more times (2 more rolls, 1 more sashimi, and a lamb kabob) and ate my fill. However, after I had paid the bill in cash I realized that I was charged by the piece. I brought it up to the server but she told me that she thought I was ordering "off the menu" and not the "all you can eat" because I had requested sashimi (which is not on the all you can eat menu, nor was one of the special rolls I had ordered). The two menus were not very clear to me (not knowing any Danish) and the all you can eat menu was also duplicated on the regular menu. I explained several times that I had told her in the beginning that I was ordering all you can eat and that had she told me that sashimi was not included, I would not have ordered it. She wouldn't budge. Then two other employees came over and started saying things like "you should have asked" or "it doesn't list the sashimi on the all you can eat menu" at which point I started to get agitated and frustrated. What happened to "the customer is always right"? I understand that it was a communication error, and I would gladly have split the difference in price and been satisfied. However, in the end I could see that they were not going to refund any of my money, which turned a pleasant evening out with my wife for our last day in Denmark to a disappointing and frustrating experience. read more
