I went there a couple of years ago. Dealing with brokers are always a pain. Sometimes it feels like the shadiest business there could be. Dealing with Okelly is like a walk in the park in comparison to the other realtors out there. Looking at you Rapid Realty. Some brokers are just young and dumb and expect you to hand everything over to them for the worst apartment possible I worked with Felix and Sandy and they are both great. They were honest with me and it was easy to have an open conversation about housing needs and wants. Not sure if they are there still at Okelly though. I came by one night during the whole time I was trying to get approved and even hung out with Mr. Okelly for a bit after hours. Nice guy. Good decent people. Compared to the other brokers/real estate offices I have been to, this is the only one I stopped at and really have dealt rental businesses with them. It is located in 68 Street and 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge. Agents in the office are very friendly and nice. They serve customers with kindness and patience, that's what it makes the office so different than others. I definitely recommend this real estate office if you are looking for houses to buy or apartments to rent!!! read more

These guys are great. I had a nice place in Bayridge and when it came time to find a new one, I didn't want to leave the neighborhood. That's when I noticed the O'Kelly Realty office on the corner. I mainly worked with Sandy but everyone there is super helpful and friendly. A lot of realtors advertise things they don't deliver; like places that are not available. O'Kelly is very straightforward with you. If they don't have what you're looking for they'll tell you. Even so, they will work to find a place that does fit your needs and budget. When I say work, I mean it. They do not bait and switch. They are popular though so their places tend to move fast. I spent a couple weeks to a month working with them and they brought me to handfuls of locations within commuting distance, and experimented with nearby areas I hadn't yet considered. For a beggar, I was also quite the chooser, and they had their work cut out with me. I wanted low rent, and lots of space. I know.... I know... But I held out and kept going through them and they found a beautiful place that opened up right in the location I wanted. They had an exclusive working relationship with the property owner and we beat out everyone else to be the first to see the place. Even then, my income & credit wasn't spectacular. So, they leveraged their relationship to make it work, vouched for me personally, and got me into that place as soon as it was on the market. I've been living there since October and I absolutely love it. They showed me other great places too. It's pretty rare in my experience anywhere in the city, to have your biggest problem come moving time be; you have TOO MANY places to choose from. This is what they can do for you. Considering the lack of service other realtors have typically offered, I hate advising people to pay a brokerage fee for something they could find themselves. However, with O'Kelly, I can tell you I'd pay the brokerage cost again (one month's rent) in a heart beat. The work they did, the followups from Sandy, the availability to work around my own work schedule was a life saver. I had a month to be out and into a new place and they helped me find my dream apartment, for cheap, with time to spare. The results speak for themselves. I would HIGHLY recommend their services to anyone in the area whose looking for a new place. It is well worth the money. Just give them a call and talk to Sandy and see if you aren't shocked at how courteous, friendly, and helpful they are. If I ever decide to leave the place they put me in, you can bet your bottom dollar I will be calling O'Kelly Realty again for their services. Everyone at Okelly was so nice and helpful! They really worked hard to get me into the apartment I wanted. They also have followed up to make sure everything was going well. I am truly impressed with the level of service that I received at Okelly International Realty. I used Okelly in my apartment search and they were VERY professional, extremely courteous, and went out of their way to make my apartment search and application process smooth-sailing. I never understood the purpose of going through a broker and was one of those people who was not only skeptical of giving a complete stranger all of my personal information (tax info, ssn, pay stubs, etc.), but didn't see how their services was worth a month of rent. In my past experience with contacting brokers through Craigslist searches they were rude, seemed a little shady, and were very unprofessional. I really lucked up with finding Matt Okelly. From the moment I called the office to inquire about a listing, the first words out of the assistant's mouth wasn't "how much do you make and what is your credit score?" She was very polite from that moment and throughout the entire process. When we scheduled to view the listing he was on time and made sure the super gave us a thorough inspection of the apartment AND common areas. We submitted our application the following day and from that moment he and his assistant diligently followed-up with the building owners to get everything processed. And when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING. This was one of those building owners that required a ton of paperwork, and administrative fees prior to approval. His assistant trekked to the city from Bay Ridge twice on our behalf to finalize the transaction and pick up and the keys. Even after we were all settled in, they contacted us a week later to make sure we were all settled in and enjoying our new place. Another good thing is the office location. This local Bay Ridge realty is really a gem in the neighborhood! While looking for an apartment in this area, I came across the office on 68th st! I was a bit hesitant to walk in, due to my negative preconceptions of and experiences with real estate brokers and agents. However, I gave it a try, and the service I got totally opened my eyes! Everyone was very welcoming and professional! Despite the fact that I was just browsing available properties and not looking to rent, they still filled me with great information and tips! I can see that these people are not exactly looking at each customer as a money tree, they really work their ass to help you! One thing I noticed in my 2 hours there, was that everyone who walked in (either landlord or people around the neighborhood) were on really good terms with them, as if they are friends! No wonder they have been working in this neighborhood for 20 years! Definitely recommend this place! read more

A solid Bay Ridge-located Realtor. As a land lord, they have never let me or my father down, and by now, it's at least a 30-year honeymoon-- not bad. Tenant have also told me only good things. Tell them exactly what you're looking for, they will do exactly that! read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. i don't want to be brutal, but i should of wrote this review 2 years ago. they scheduled an appointment with us with no problem. they also "found" us place in the area. and while we were signing our lease with the land lord in there office. the land lord basically said we stopped us and said we couldn't sign it until he spoke with his partners.. i know your thinking the fault lies.. with landlord for discriminating against us, but Okelly Realty stood by him just so they wouldn't lose him as a client in oppose to standing up for us for being discriminated against. These people are incompetent and bunch of liars. I drove almost two hours to see a commercial space in 68st/Bayridge from QUEENS and when the realty guy SAM showed up around 5pm he couldn't get access to the key to show me the property. He then asked me to wait another 2-3hrs for owner to bring the key after he/she's down with personal errands. I said of course not and this upset me to say the least. I called the office to complaint about the lack of attention to details and professionalism and the girl apologized. We arranged to have SAM go into the space next day or over the weekend once key in hand and send me photos/videos of the place so I can judge myself whether its worth come again to visit the space. They seemed earnest at the time about providing this favor as remedy for the screwup. Well that was Friday evening and now its TUESDAY afternoon, NOTHING...no call/text or photos/videos they promised. If I were the property owner, I'll realize quick these guys are bad for business. read more

I do not reccommend this realty company to anyone renting / leasing / buying / selling. They do not negotiate their fees by even $1.00. When the brokers showed up for our lease signing -the lease was not to my landlord's satisfaction (no riders, lease very general)- so we could not sign the lease that day. When we came back 3 days later to finalize the lease - They had no receipt book - I happened to have a pc of paper with me - that we had to hand write out a receipt. They also demand cash for all transactions - which I do not feel comfortable with. If you try to contact the owner of this company, Medhat Okelly- good luck.. All you will get is his receptionist- who wants to constantly tell you that you need to pay all their fees -NO NEGOTIATION- and that he is very busy and can't talk to you. Please use a more reputable company - as I was displeased - and so was my new landlord. read more

Very Helpful, Courteous, professional, knowledgeable and caring. I have known this realty for over 20 years and they have helped me find tenant for my apartment building in Bay Ridge. I have also dealt with other brokers in Bay Ridge from time to time. However, lately with all these new faceless internet based rental agencies that pop-up every day and bombard landlord and tenants with false advertisements, I decided to stick with Okelly Realty because they always brought me the right tenants, did their due diligence on vetting the prospective tenants before they present them to me . They are also one of the few agencies that do not charge exuberant sums for credit checks and do not demand a deposit for false promises of an apartment. I looked at apartments with these guys last year. I can't remember the name of the woman who helped me, but she was a bit older, in her 70's. She was so helpful and so nice. I walked in off the street and she spent hours helping me. She drove me around Bay Ridge to a couple of really nice places that were in my price range. I ended up finding a slightly better deal with another realty in Bay Ridge, but I would definitely recommend checking this place out. read more
