A little surprised by the other reviewers, although am guessing that they want to keep this small establishment a secret that remains "on top of the hill". The ultimate meaning of Oka. I went to this restaurant as a further celebratory week of getting older again. I was surprised at the great value for money, especially in Primrose Hill. The food was above average with some nice variations on the . Long dishes were used for and although this did not provide a specific look that one expects it managed to adjourn some grandeur to the meal. They unfortunately did not have any fatty sashimi, although the sashimi was ample and tasty. I was unable to eat the chocolate dessert as it was sickly sweet like a cookie from tescos. Although this did not stop my friend from devouring it. On top of this a rather reasonably priced bottle of riesling, which was refreshing. Although I would have preferred a carat of saki. They unfortunately didn't provide me with the saki list and I therefore forgot about it. Oh well, next time I will try and recall my poison of choice. Other than that, as this restaurant is so small, I hope noone is reading my review. X

We were seriously blown away by the rolls we had here. The spider roll and red dragon roll. HELLOOOO WHAT IS THIS?! It's good sushi. Yum.

Beef teppanyaki. So unassuming, yet so good.

Came by here for lunch, they have some good lunch specials here and food was good. Service was also attentive. Prices were also decent.

In a related and very lovely gesture, the server brought me a complimentary mutton roll (with chilli ketchup) and said they usually send something on the house for solo diners :) The roll was delicious -- savoury mutton without a strong game-y flavour that went really nicely with the mildly spicy ketchup. I decided to have an order of the Lankan chicken kari paired with a hopper. I did not know what a hopper was before then (let alone seen one), so it was an interesting surprise when I was served this unevenly thick, bowl-shaped rice pancake. Fortunately, I did not go wrong with this choice, as the hopper was so delicious. The light rice-based flavour of the hopper paired so nicely with the rich, slightly spicy curry and the tender and savoury chicken, and I really liked the textural variety of the hopper itself (thicker, spongier base and thinner, crispier sides). The ratio of hopper to curry was not quite right, though, so I ended up ordering another roti to enjoy the remaining half of my curry and chicken. The roti was really delicious -- fluffy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside -- and similarly paired super well in carrying the curry flavour. All in all, price point was pretty solid for the quality and amount of food. I thought the hopper was pricier than expected, but conversely the curry was less so -- so overall it all seemed quite reasonable. I would love the chance to come visit again and try more of their deliciously fragrant curry options next time.

The place was quite busy, and interestingly, the same person taking orders was also cooking. It's a very small setup--definitely not meant for dining in. The vibe is more like "grab your food and head out." We ordered chicken egg fried rice and chicken chow mein. Watching the food being cooked right in front of us was fascinating--quick, high heat, and full of action. Once we got our order, we sat outside to eat. The first thing I noticed was that the food was quite oily. More disappointing, though, was that I couldn't find any chicken in my fried rice--even though I had paid extra for it. I went back, showed them, and asked if chicken had been added. They bluntly said "yes" and didn't bother to check further, which was frustrating That said, the food itself tasted good overall. It's just that the oiliness and the lack of proper service took away from the experience. I wouldn't say I won't visit again--it feels more like an off day--but I was definitely expecting better service.

I ordered the Chicken Katsu over brown rice with Szechuan sauce. It wasn't too spicy and had a good portion of protein. It took about 10 minutes to wait for food. Be cautious if the line gets long- you may be waiting 30 minutes in total, given there aren't many grills and the kitchen can get backed up.

Was thrilled to find out that he does Asian food well too, and this chain has their cute lucky cat chopstick holders that I ended up buying takeaway as a souvenir. I found the staff to be kind and attentive as with other GR restaurants that left a positive impression. Duck Salad - Intriguing take that combines the Thai/Viet-forward tart mango salad with a beautifully seared duck breast. I like the vibrant flavor profile that really awakens the palette. Wagyu Nigiri - Served aburi style with fresh wasabi, I was impressed by how authentic this piece of sushi was. Definitely one of those places where you walk in and immediately think "okay this is going to be great." Unfortunately, the actual experience didn't really match the setting for us. The drinks were good, but not particularly memorable considering the price point and reputation. The bigger issue was the service. We were seated at a shared high top next to another couple and then waited around 25 minutes before anyone took our order. After that, it was another long wait before the drinks actually arrived. By the time we finally got them, the whole vibe had kind of faded for us and we ended up leaving after one round. I still think it's worth stopping by for the views alone, but overall the experience felt more style over substance than I hoped for.
