Gina took the time to discuss all my concerns, examined me fully and was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring physician, but I was especially impressed with the care and concern she took with my knees. I've had issues since an injury when I was 14 and have been basically blown-off by several Drs who said there wasn't much they could do. That as AFTER my chiropractor told me that at 25 I was rapidly heading toward a double knee replacement! Yikes! Years ago I complained about coughing in the mornings and after dinner. Dr. Lamaster had me do…read moreannual chest CT. The second year the CT showed a gallstone. The coughing progressed into choking, gagging and recently trouble swallowing. After the coughing complaint, I reported random diarrhea, which was dismissed. Then I complained of vomiting. For years my symptoms got worse. Finally the vomiting was so bad, I insisted on seeing a surgeon. The gallstone that was documented on my medical records years prior turned into Chronic Cholecystitis, which can be life threatened. It can also lead to Pancreatic cancer, from which my mother died; she too was undiagnosed for years. Advocate Ravenswood let me suffer for years and harmed my long term health. This is not the only undiagnosed issue. Dr. Mikesell and Dr. Lamaster both dismissed my complaints about cognitive dysfunction for years with repeated complaints from me. The dysfunction now seems to have been caused by seizures. Two head injuries are in my medical records and they dismissed me and never followed up. Negligent or incompetent? Does it matter which? Also I rarely saw Dr. Lamaster. His residents were the only appointments I could get. One told me that I did not need to check my blood sugar... I am diabetic. Another put in my medical records that I had high blood pressure, which is incorrect and caused me problems with the anesthesiologist prior to gallbladder surgery. I have many other more examples of incompetence but individually they do not seem important. However, when a medical practice has consistent mistakes and the residents do not read your chart, they put your life at risk. Chronic Cholecystitis can be life threatening. It inflamed my pancreas and liver.

The building is bright and welcoming, as are the folks working the front desk. I also appreciate how clean it is. Our Doctor, Dr. Serrano, has been absolutely wonderful. From the jump she's always expressed genuine excitement to see us and our baby. We feel so comfortable and confident in her care, she really eases any worries we've had as we navigate parenthood! I've called the help line more than once when I've had questions or concerns and there is always a doctor ready to assist. So far, I'm really impressed with all experiences I've had here and want to thank them for keeping my baby healthy!

I misjudged the weight of a crate and ouch, that hurt. I assumed it was a simple muscle strain, but I'm no physician. Dr. Weiler, however, recognized my symptoms as consistent with a more serious injury and, thanks to her and her very professional staff, I had an X-ray, an MRI and saw a specialist, all within four days of my initial visit with her. There's no way I could've achieved all these appointments on my own. It's only because of Dr. Weiler and her staff that I got in to see a specialist that very same week. UPDATE: Within 10 days of that first appointment with Dr. Weiler, I learned I'd suffered a 95-percent separation of my bicep, and had the surgery necessary to correct it. Yes. All within 10 days. If not for Dr. Weiler, the injury I mistook for a simple strain could've very easily become so severe that even surgery wouldn't have been an option. Besides that, the specialist to whom she referred me was among the best of the best. Another win for Dr. Weiler. She's got a lot of those.

Here's my experience: After struggling with an ongoing eye issue and visiting several different ophthalmologists who unfortunately were unable to treat or properly diagnose my problem, I went to dr. Gutmann for another opinion. I am so relieved and grateful I went to him. First of all, his demeanor is very sweet and patient. He is a very intelligent and very well educated man and yet he does not treat his patients any differently. I witnessed the way he approached several other patients that day from different backgrounds and he is truly an upstanding guy, very respectful and kind. A genuine man who has a passion for what he does. He took the time to listen to my concerns and explained what he thought was going on. He then used a different eye drop to diagnose my condition, and sure enough he found the problem. At least now I have answers and will proceed accordingly. I am very happy I went to him and I encourage anyone to get a second opinion from him when in doubt. I will never go to any other eye doctor again.

As good as it gets!" and in this case, I could not agree more. The office itself is great. The staff are nice and seem pretty organized, and I book my appointments online without issue. I am also usually able to get a spot within a reasonable period of time (not 6-8 weeks out like so many Chicago doctors). However, the real reason for the 5th star is Dr. Reyes. Dr. Reyes has the best bedside manner of any doctor I've ever seen. She actually takes the time to listen to your symptoms, concerns, and history. Dr. Reyes also seems to genuinely care about my health and well-being as much as I do, acting sympathetic toward even seemingly minor complaints. Miraculously, she is able to give this much attention to her patients and STILL her office runs on time. I don't know how she does it--I've never waited more than 5 minutes for an appointment. I first saw Dr. Reyes in January 2014 when she was with the Advocate group. I was disappointed when I called later for another appointment and they told me she was no longer there. The staff had no information on where she was practicing or how to contact. I was forced to try other PCPs, and it was only when I needed a check-up in 2017 that I finally found Dr. Reyes again. I was thrilled and relieved (and clearly, my positive memories of her held up). If there were ever a doctor worth tracking down, it's Maria Reyes!
