The first time I cried on my wedding day was when I saw my bouquet. Then I saw the centerpieces... the bridesmaids bouquets... the arch... all too stunning for words. In an attempt to keep costs low for our wedding, I was going to have a friend help me DIY all the flowers & decor, but about five weeks out she determined that it would not be feasible for her to get it all done. It was actually a blessing in disguise because my amazing coordinator (Brooke -- shout out to White Sage Wedding & Events!) recommended the lovely ladies at Ojai Blooms. Incredibly, they were available to deliver on our wedding day, and during the initial consultation phone call with Jennifer I knew she completely understood our vision and would be able to use her expertise in pulling together the best in-season and local flowers and greens to make some floral magic. Her flexibility, easygoing approach, and focus on helping us stay within budget were so welcome during a very stressful (and semi-last minute) planning period! Needless to say, the day of our wedding, I walked out of hair and make up to see the bouquets that had just been delivered and was dazzled near to tears. I was equally blown away by the gorgeous transformation of our ceremony space after the arch and aisle had been decorated. I had given Jennifer some photo reference of colors and types of leaves/flowers I was most interested in, and a few key words of how I wanted everything to feel, but they were even more beautiful than I had envisioned. She spent time decorating the tables, the arch for the ceremony, and supplied us with the loveliest votives and vases. After connecting to Jennifer through my event coordinator, White Sage, I sent her a bunch of inspiration photos. I told her my dream of all ivory flowers and lots of greenery, a mismatched floral crown that was filled with babies breath and daisies (usually the first thing anyone says when I show them photos is, "OH I LOVE your flower crown!"). I wanted something bohemian and romantic, mirroring the natural love that my fiance and I shared for each other. She recommended a few things, such as including gold roses in the bouquets and vases. I thought these were great ideas since my dress had illusion and thought he mix would be pretty. Jennifer dropped off the bouquet, boutonniere, and flower crown at our AirBnB while we got ready. Jennifer from Ojai Blooms made three corsages and two boutonnières for the three proms I attended. I bought a boutonnière from another florist and as I was pinning it onto my date's jacket, the rose fell off the stem. The ribbons in the corsages and the boutonnières matched my dresses perfectly and the flowers never fell off (even through all of the dancing, hugging, etc.) I still have them in my room as a memory and everything is intact.
