The person who runs the spot was lat so I had to wait awhile before ordering, which was okay. I ordered the traditional black milk tea with no boba and the popcorn chicken. They have a great combo special which is one boba drink and a bite off the "Bites" menu for $9.99 plus tax. It's a great deal. The black milk tea was good. It was smooth and rich but the black tea flavor needed more of that black tea flavor. It was mild yet tasty of course. The popcorn chicken was very good. The deep fried chicken morsels had a nice well seasoned crisp light breading and the all white meat chicken inside was very tender. They served the popcorn chicken with a side of sweet & sour sauce, and hot mustard & ketchup. The popcorn chicken was definitely a repeat. The older gent who stepped in to take my order and make my beverage was a regular who works at Wong's. He was kind and helpful.

The location is inside of a Chinese Restaurant, not very easy to find at first. However, if you come from the left sidedoor when facing the building, you can't miss it! I love love their brown sugar latte added with cheese foam!!! Their milk tea is very classic, the owner is very friendly and told me they use daily brewed Chinese tea leaves and fresh made boba. I am very picky when it comes to boba tea as I drinks them every day growing up in Asia. This is one of my new favorite boba shops in San Diego! Highly recommended if you are in the area. Trying their Valentine's Day Special today, the lemon juice tastes organic from the backyard. It's real good, will keep coming back and try more new flavors.

Lots of drinks to choose from, and the staff were very helpful in explaining my menu questions. Ended up with an iced watermelon fruitaro (like a milk tea but w/o the milk) and some crystal boba which ended up just the right amount of sweetness that I was looking for that day. Thank you!

Most of the drinks were offered in three different sizes... 16, 24, and 33 oz. Toppings were $0.75 each which is about par nowadays. Milk Tea, Hot Tea, Flavored Tea, Iced Fruitaro, Fruit Smoothies, Lemonades, Slushies, and a Blended Series were the categories. Five types of Macaron Ice Cream sandwiches were also sold. My choice was a 24 oz Rose Peach Green Tea with regular sweetness, 50% ice, and honey boba pearls added. The blend was very fragrant from the rose component. I seldom see this option with fruit teas at other places. The boba pearls could have been cooked longer to soften them. The processing time to make my drink wasn't very long. There was at least one other boba tea shop within this sprawling mall so there is competition under the same roof. My initial experience with Tea Monks was worth a four star rating.

I have already been there twice in the past week, which should tell you how much I enjoy this place. The aesthetic is super neat. I love the decor and the overall vibe. It is colorful, bright, and full of character. They also have board games, and we ended up playing a game of chess, which made the experience even more fun. I have tried a few drinks so far. The double matcha was one of my favorites. I enjoyed it very much. It did not have that overly bitter matcha flavor and was sweet in a really balanced way. I also ordered the Oreo matcha, which was super delicious, refreshing, and tasty. The taro milk tea was good, and the ube cloud coffee was delicious. It actually reminded me of the Vietnamese coffee I usually get in Orange County, so now I do not have to drive all the way there to get something similar. The drinks here are great because they are not overly sweet, which is exactly how I like them. I also tried the purple rice yogurt just to check it out and thought it was okay. Service was also quite friendly, which added to the overall experience. I really enjoyed everything about this place. The vibes, the ambience, the customer service, and especially the drinks were all on point. I love this place and it is five stars all the way for me.

The line was super long (expected with a promo), but honestly it moved faster than I thought it would. Staff kept things friendly and upbeat the whole time, which made the wait feel lighter. Inside, the shop has cute setups and little games that kept the kids entertained -- a nice touch you don't see everywhere. I ordered the Double Matcha Latte, which was rich, earthy, and really good. At $8.75, it's on the pricier side, but with the BOGO deal it felt worth it. I also grabbed the pandan waffle, and wow -- that hit the spot. Warm, fragrant, and fun to snack on while waiting for drinks.

First of all the service was great and drinks were made in very timely manner! I ordered my girlfriend a Taro Blended with boba and I got her son a Watermelon smoothie. When I got the drinks I smashed the straw into the table (pointy side down)... true boba people know this is a terrible idea because it gets rid of the pointy tip to bust through the plastic top.... Well I was thinking I could muscle it through and nope... watermelon smoothie EXPLODED all over me and the counter top... while people were ordering I was so embarrassed haha the girl running the register immediately grabbed the drink and said "don't worry about it I'll make a new one and don't worry about the mess I'll take care of it" is till cleaned up the mess but the gesture was incredibly nice seeing how it was my fault. On the other hand the Taro was somewhat watered down and was not like most Taros, the Watermelon smoothie I didn't try but lil man said he enjoyed it and drank most of it all down. I think if you're craving boba while out shopping the mall this place idle good but to go to the mall for this boba spot..... probably not. Thank you for the amazing customer service Tea Monks

My order came out in about 3 minutes and staff was friendly. Food 4/5 -I ordered the Mochi Mango(keep cream top, minimal sugar). This is my favorite drink from a San Diego cafe! The mango comes in a puréed form, so refreshing! The mochi texture is suckable through the straw, suuuuper soft and thinner than most mochi you usually eat which makes it so fun to drink/eat. I do wish there's less of the icy slushie part of the drink and more of the mango and mochi bc those are the best parts. It also comes with a whipped cream top and little bits of cookie crunchies, both really yum as well. Ambiance 5/5 -The cafe has a generous amount of seating and warm lighting, chill spot to chat and hang out.
