Its not a 5 star exclusive type of thing - but its very clean and lawn quality is up to my standards. There is some new concrete work and some artistic concrete benches. Also they boast 'movies in the park' - had to steal that word 'boast' from all the realtors in the world. They are always boasting this and that. Boasting granite, boasting eat in kitchen, boasting big yard... do realtors not have any other vocabulary other than 'boasting?' Signs indicate new bathrooms soon to come. I like how the city of Berkeley chooses to put so much effort into this little park.

Also an abundance of den Mothers. Watch where you step, not everyone picks up after their dog. I also recommend walking around the park before you throw a ball for your pooch. There are many holes in the sand/dirt and a dog in a full run can break a leg. And so can his human. If you know where those holes are , you can pick a smoother spot. Plenty of water available Parking is easy but the tree's send off a light spray of sap. Easy to wash off. Have fun, and enjoy Alameda. It is a great place. Remember drive 25.

This is by and far the biggest and best dog park in the East Bay. IT'S HUGE! Within comfortable driving distance from home through quaint northern Alameda, the park boasts two sides, depending on the size of your four-legged cuddle monster. Inside, the place is decked out generously with chairs and picnic tables galore. In fact, I had a picnic birthday party for one of my dogs a few years ago inside the large park, and family and friends were able to bring their furry companions for a day-long frolic at the park. It was great! If you're looking for a place to take your little (or giant) ones for a couple hours while you sit back and relax while they have their day, think about coming here. Then afterwards, enjoy a lovely stroll along the beach at Crown Memorial State Beach right behind the dog park. There's no better way to end your fun filled day.

It's next to a playground for children. Mini Park is an apt name because it's literally a giant square of grass. There's a water fountain for humans and dogs. Nowhere to sit except some giant boulders by the fence next to the playground. It's not quite a dog park or a human park... Can't tell which it was meant to be. There's no double gate, so make sure dogs don't run loose. It's also not the most mowed lawn, but it's certainly green enough to be nice. Obviously I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. There's a much nicer (actual) dog park closer to the BART station, but it was further from my destination. I'll probably bring my dog there next time!

The staff and team are absolutely wonderful and provide phenomenal customer service. They offer full-service bathing, grooming, and nail trimming, and while appointments aren't required, they definitely help during the busy summer months when many dog owners visit the park. One of the best things about Mud Puppy is its convenient location right next to the dog park. There's also a snack bar where you can grab a delicious treat or a cappuccino while your pup is being pampered. I highly recommend Mud Puppy Tub & Scrub. The service exceeded my expectations, and everyone on the team was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Most importantly, Flynn came home looking handsome, smelling fresh, and squeaky clean. We'll definitely be back! PS - they even washed and cleaned Flynn's harness and leash. Amazing!

And then there are tennis and basketball courts and then there's a kids play scape for younger kids and we spent so much time at this park. The community center is also very nice and they have plays or other events there. I've seen quite a few events there and have also taken Zumba classes. There's also an area between the two parts of the park that has a stream and picnic tables and we often met groups down there and had celebrations. I've also seen work groups meet there for lunch. My kids loved to go hang out there because there were so many things you can do there. The Parks in Berkeley, in general I find just amazing.

Along the paved path, I enjoyed the surrounding scenery and views of the water, as well as ducks, pelicans, and seagulls floating in the lagoon. I also found some disc golf baskets and exercise stations on site. Nothing too exciting here, but it's still a lovely park and not a bad option for getting your steps in.
