Hoop court...

Located right across the street from the Berkeley Rose Garden, which gets all the much deserved hype, Codornices Park has a lot to offer. The kids love the cement slide here, just remember to bring your cardboard!! The tunnel that connects this park to the Berkeley Rose Garden is very cool!! There's also a playground, a basketball court, picnic areas and if you keep going into the park, trails. Parking along the street can get a little hectic depending on the day, that's probably the only downside here.

Cool park and sweet slide. There are play structures, fields and hiking trails. The rose garden is also nearby. The main attraction is a cement slide that's probably 50 ft long and 30ft high. You grab a piece of cardboard walk to the top, smash you head on a low tree and then come down as fast as you can. It was a great time and the kids loved it too! Everyone seemed to love it.

Cool park. Not my favorite though. The concrete slide is unique and a great feature. I think the structures are a little advanced for my 2, 4, and 6 year olds. They are capable of climbing them but I'm pretty nervous they'll fall and they're pretty high up. For the record I am a fairly easy going non-helicopter parent, so for me to be anxious about this park is strange. We'll come back when the kids are a little older. Rose gardens across the street are very nice.

I give it four not five because it is hard to reserve the picnic site. First you have to register an account and then pay for the administrative fee. It takes some time if you are the first time there because of the design of the website. So here is half point down. Meanwhile, the picnic site does not allow personal grill device, so the public one is the only choice. However, the grill is so dirty... I cannot even think if I directly put raw meat on it. Thus, we brought our own grid and lifted it up with four small stones. So another half point down. I strongly recommend a 4:30-8:30 shift in summer since the sunset is late and the sunshine won't burn anyone. With some dry pine woods on the grounds, it is easy to set up the fire with some charcoal. Last but it least, remember to bring water to put out the fire!!! I guess I will return to this site for another BBQ picnic~

This is a great park in North Berkeley. There is a giant Baseball Field where in addition to softball / baseball - you can use it for Volleyball / Soccer if you bring your own nets. There is also outdoor full court basketball. There are some hiking trails. If you are coming with a group, please make a reservation beforehand. Had to move / relocate two times because people had reservations.

Beautiful park... basketball court just to the right so bring a ball.

Great park! A needed break from the norm. Has a concrete slide that is FAST... but it's safe. Should have plenty of cardboard pieces left behind so enjoy it and just chill!!

Review #234 - 2018 I've driven by this park once before when I came to visit the Berkeley Rose Garden so I made sure that we stopped by this time that I brought my nieces to the rose garden again. There's a lighted underground tunnel that leads to the playground from the rose garden, which is nice so you don't have to cross the street with the kids. Safety is very important. My daughter was very happy to see the playground that she ran toward the slides immediately after we walked out of the tunnel. Both of my teenage nieces enjoyed the park as well. We walked around the park for a bit and saw that there were a few different hiking trails. I actually went down the cement slide with my daughter and she was super scared because both of our weight made us go down super fast. Poor baby! My 18-year old niece went down that slide as well and even she agreed it was kind of scary. My other niece was too scared to try so she just stayed down and recorded us. There's a lot of different things to enjoy here. They have picnic tables for families and basketball hoops as well for the older kids. It's a one-stop park for family of all ages.

New to this area so I decided to walk to the nearest parks. Easy trek through the nearby neighborhood and was not disappointed. This park spans a large area with lots of benches and play areas for kids. It's also nice for those looking for more than just a light walk-lots of mini pathways to explore. Some lead up the hill and some lead to the back where the water runs. A nice place to enjoy the weather and read a book!

Place was great and within walking distance to the rose garden. The park is actually beautiful and great for kids, walks or walks with a friendly pet. Behind the slide there's a flat green grass area. PERFECT place for pictures. I'll be back. The cardboards aren't always there, there was only about 4 luckily it wasn't crowded, people know why you're there so they take turns with the cardboards. Careful not to put your hands down sliding down, the rock will tear up your hands if you aren't careful. It's not bumpy so it's not hard to remember not to touch the sides.

Awesome park especially for small kids. Fun cement slide and playground. Loved the tunnel leading to the rose garden and a little hike through the redwood. The surrounding town is lovely too. Near UCB.

The playground is super cute, with a smaller playground for younger kids, and there's even a concrete slide.

It's too cold to go into the water but you can see a bit of San Francisco on a clear day. Its actually a perfect representation of the Bay Area for visitors. Cold, sky is gray, and rocks near the water is covered with slippery seaweed. At the very end of University Ave you can find plenty of parking and two of the odd/unique attractions. There is a giant sundial near the pier. Its 10 foot in diameter and a gift from Berkeley's sister city Sakai, Japan. There is a giant proto-asian culture style statue called "The Guardian" on the grass. The Guardian is an extrapolation of a six-inch clay and wood sculpture in a Buddhist temple in Penang. The city fiercely resisted Frederic Fierstein's plopping of the Guardian. Fierstein fiercely fought back. Fierstein gathered signatures and placed an initiative on the ballot in support of the Guardian. The worst thing about coming so early are there was a person smoking weed in their car and kept loudly cursing on the phone even with kids and old people visibly around.

Parking is completely free and the farm itself is also free to visit, which makes it an easy and accessible outing for everyone. There are several farm animals that kids can see up close like goats, chickens, pigs, and more, which makes the experience really enjoyable for little ones. At the moment, visitors are not able to feed the animals due to health concerns, but it's still great being able to walk around and see them in a peaceful setting. The surrounding area is also beautiful. There are amazing hiking trails all around Tilden, so you can easily turn a quick visit into a full day outdoors. On a sunny day, the views, fresh air and open space make the whole place feel very relaxing. Overall, it's a simple, wholesome place to visit, especially if you want kids to experience animals and nature without spending money. Definitely worth checking out on a sunny day.

The short trek is worth seeing the beautiful animals up close but will require a bit of energy going uphill. Lots of empty pens in the farm this past Sunday. Super cute, just chillaxing :) This farm allows for petting of the animals with caution, but lots of signs saying no feeding allowed. There's also educational opportunities on site, wash stations, restrooms, and a free parking lot for convenience, to go along with free admission to the farm. There's no wifi here, and minimal seating. I made the most out of my visit, by checking out Jewel Lake nearby as well.

You want to be able to watch over your kids as they're playing. Architecturally, the place looks pristine from every angle. Well laid out. Shows intention. Someone was doing their homework. Wasn't just slapped together like some places. They definitely had a landscape designer on board when they built this place. Nice touch Emeryville! Although the play structure isn't huge, it's one of the best for kids 5 and older. It has a very good variety. Long tall tunnel slide which kids absolutely love. The view from the top I'm sure is amazing and one of the choices for getting up there is by way of the rock climbing wall. Younger kids may have a hard time finding a place to play though. The area designed for younger kids is more of a art piece than an actual play area. You'll know what I mean when you get there. Ko
