Saying this is the best karaoke bar in LA might be underselling it. Its one of the best in the world. Kind staff, great community, and a selection of songs in multiple languages to coast the night away. I would've given Ohjah 5-stars after my first few visits. I've been coming nearly every week since 2021. They also hosted the evening's reception of my wedding ceremony day recently. In addition to the unforgettable experiences I've had. It's hard to quantify how many stars you give that. All I can say is I love the lounge, its community, and what its been able to give in the city of Los Angeles.

Cute little lounge in Little Tokyo. The staff is very nice. The songs are $3/each which is a bit steep, but I guess that's better than waiting an hour in line to sing one song. Very small and chill, best for those looking to have a nice dinner on the quiet side with some karaoke. Would definitely return. Edit: I've read some of the other reviews and I'm a little nervous about going next time

Oh Jah Lounge is on the 2nd floor of the Miyako Hotel in Little Tokyo next to its sister establishment, Tamon, a Sushi restaurant that has great food & service by Chefs Nakai & Wakizo-. In fact, food ordered at Oh Jah is from the kitchen of Tamon so the bar food here is superior to most bars whose kitchen facilities are rather rudimentary at best. Come at 5:30pm for happy hour since the crowds have not come in yet so that it is blessedly quiet & serene. It's so wonderful to order a premium Japanese 'scotch' & contemplate in the quietness. However, starting around 8:30pm, Karaoke (kah rah oh keh) starts to rev up & the serenity is broken in favour of popular songs from Japan or America. Kei (kay), the young Japanese bartender, is personable, attentive, low key. Atmosphere is loungy w/ bar seating & comfortable club chairs, low sofas & tables particularly for group or couple seating and is the primary area for Karaoke performances. Wide range of clientele from Japanese speakers, hipsters from nearby DTLA areas, business men in suits, rainbow of different ethnicities. It's all good. Varied selection of standard liquors found in typical American bars as well as high end Japanese Whiskeys, premium Sake (sah keh), & Sho-chu- (show chew) which is distilled low alcohol Japanese "vodka" made from various grains. This may be the most comfortable, classy Karaoke bar in all of Little Tokyo/Japanese Town DTLA. It's comparable to going to a similar bar in Tokyo, Japan. Bravo.

We have become regulars here, my sexy Japanese mama Monica is actually our neighbor, she is so good to us every time! Always try to sit with us and chat for a while even there is a lot of customers there, I like the slow nights, we can sing and hang out with her more. She is a bit old school though, doesn't like my tattoo, forbids me to get more, and teaches me to be more romantic and soft to my husband, re gifts her roses to me from her biggest admirers who sends her 50 roses every other week... Ouch... :) she gives us bottle waters to go if we drink too much. We usually come here to drink more and sing after our date day, shopping and dinner in WeHo or downtown LA, I just love this tiny, relaxing, intimate karaoke lounge, we always sit at the table in the corner, romantic and cozy, they can reserve unfinished bottles for us, which I find it is a better deal, $130 for a bottle of Grey Goose, $60 for a bottle of nice sake, pretty decent price though, cheaper than order individual drinks. They charge $6 per person for table seatings, no charge sitting at the bar, the bartender is always fun to talk to, he makes strong tasty drinks too. They have food menu, I think it's from the same japanese restaurant kitchen next door, I liked the food there, I figured it's pretty much the same at this lounge too. I have always liked the crowd there, fun, friendly and easy going. The eye candy waitresses are very nice and attentive, we are always very satisfied with the service and everything. I rarely sing, hubby loves to sing all the time, lots of song choices in English, Japanese and Chinese. If you are into singing, just sing and drink the night away! Ps. Remember to validate valet ticket.

The bartender Kei is way too entitled. They make you download an app to sing Karaoke songs that they charge you anyways. Will not recommend.

Words cannot expressed how pleasantly shocked my friend and I were with the premium quality service we experienced at Pharaoh. We had been here a handful of times together over the years whenever we were in SoCal, but our experience this past August really had us sold on loyalty to Pharaoh for NRB (karaoke). We came in pretty late, after a concert at BMO and with my old service dog, probably around 11pm. The first thing we noticed was how nice the security guard was sitting outside of Pharaoh when we came off the elevator to B1. We thought the guard would make a stank out of having a dog enter the floor at all, but he was really polite and directed us through the lobby door. Once we went in, we were greeted by Pharaoh's staff and manager, who welcomed all of us (including my dog) with open arms. Like, literally, wide open, to my dog. The manager actually gave us a room upgrade so that my dog could be more comfortable while we karaoked and we got a generous serving of beer and soju along with our spacious karaoke room. We ordered some midnight snack bites-- Could have been the booze talking, but I highly recommend their sweet potato fries, honestly anything fried or savory there was fantastic and made to perfection. The song selections were massive, all up-to-date, and the system is easy to use (whether or not you use the Korean keyboard or not). Thankfully because we had an upgraded room, our friends who joined us an hour before Pharaoh closed were able to comfortably fit in the room with us and we were able to even finish our song list before leaving, even when we were 10 minutes over closing time. This type of tailored business and kindness to customers is truly a rare find in this modern economy, we'll definitely be back whenever we're in town. Thank you so much for all that you provided for us (even without a reservation and with my old service dog!)

We're in the area and the cheaper karaoke bars are pretty out of reach, so we agree at the cost since we would split the bill. Song selection is abysmal and awkward with a slow love songs having random Kpop backgrounds with twerking in them. The song selection had more Korean than any other genre and most of the system was in Korean, so luckily my friend figured out how to change it to English. Service was decent. It's not like the server had to come in repeatedly. I didn't like the idea that we HAD to have alcohol when we asked to swap the alcohol for soda instead. At the very end, I'm told by the server that there is an automatic 20% service fee that was added to the bill. The cost was $200 and with the service fee and tax, it went over $250. Excuse me, we saw our server 3 times and neither was it for egregious requests. Your song selection is short, I can't control the volume without checking in with the employees, your food was okay, and you want to add on additional service fees for a $200 package. We were never told in the beginning that there was going to be a 20% service fee automatically. And neither would I put the server in an awkward position when it was the manager who explained the costs to us. We aren't coming back. It's a ripoff. And your toothbrushes suck.

They did park the cars for us but when it was time to get the cars they just handed us our keys. I'm not sure if that is standard or that is how they did only for us but it was only $3 and I put the tip in my pocket that I was going to give to the valet at the end. This valet is for the entire back lot not just exclusive to Rosen so I am not holding any of that against them. Package: We had a party of 8 and booked the large room which required us to have the $370 package. It kind of sucked because a lot of our party doesn't drink so we were forced to have to pay for a big bottle of alcohol that not everyone wanted. I wish there was a way to just sub food instead of the alcohol for people who don't drink. They said our large room would've fit up to 12 people but in my opinion, the large room should be for up to about 8 people if you want room to move around. Karaoke Selection: They had a lot of good classics but their collection is definitely LACKLUSTER. The other thing I didn't like was they provided no instructions and everything is in Korean so we had to figure the system out on our own. One of our TVs also had a huge crack in the middle of it and I wasn't really fond of it but definitely didn't make or break the night. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and I would highly recommend. I would hope by the next visit their catalog will be more updated with more American songs and artists.
