In early February, my three-year-old Bosch 800 series threw the E15 error code -- showing a leak…read moresomewhere with water puddling in the base of the dishwasher. Called Mr. Appliance. They were very friendly and came out to fix it on Feb 12. They fixed it ($179), and it lasted a week before it threw the same error code again. They came out and looked at it again, and recommended a part with a bigger fix, so we said OK, and we ordered it. On their third trip to our place they came out Feb 24 and installed that new part ($505). That fix worked, and the tech was very friendly, but a week later it threw yet again the E15 error code. I called their office in frustration and three days later they still hadn't called me back. So I called in again and they promised to come out and make it right. After another few days' wait, they came out again on March 10, looked at it, fixed it up, and that fixe lasted, yep, about a week. They came back on March 24 and recommended another fix (only a $30 part this time), and they installed it on March 28. This time I was assured it was fixed for real, and it seemed like it was running fine just like every other time the tech was here. But yep, the dreaded E15 error code came again three days later on March 31. So we've been eating off paper plates on and off for six weeks, Mr. Appliance has come to my house six times, made four repairs, at a cost of over $700, and my dishwasher is still broken. The tech is super friendly and seems knowledgeable, but he certainly hasn't actually fixed my dishwasher. They don't seem to have anyone else to send to fix it. Their management takes a few days to call you back even when you're obviously dissatisfied, and their only solution to make it right is to send their people back to repeat the same attempt. So if you've got an easy job, maybe Mr. Appliance will be the right fit for you. But if you've got a tricky job I can't recommend Mr. Appliance, while their techs are friendly you may find yourself wasting six weeks of effort and hundreds of dollars and yet have to replace your dishwasher anyways.

Your technician replaced the compressor on my Thermador wine cooler after diagnosing it as the…read morecause of the cooling issue. However, a little over a month later, the unit stopped cooling again. During the follow-up visit, the same technician identified severe corrosion on the heat exchanger and a refrigerant leak. Thermador later confirmed that the unit is not repairable, and I was forced to purchase a replacement out of pocket at a discounted price (which is currently backordered). I want to express my concern that this corrosion and leakage likely did not develop within such a short period of time. It seems far more probable that the corrosion was already present during the initial diagnosis and simply went unnoticed. If that is the case, the compressor replacement was only a temporary fix and did not address the root cause of the problem. I understand that I was informed that the leak is being treated as a separate issue and therefore not covered under the repair warranty. However, from my perspective, I paid for a repair which ultimately failed because the underlying problem was not identified or resolved. I sent you an email and I am still waiting for your reply almost a year later...

I had such a great experience with the stove I bought from Eugene years ago, that Lorain Furniture and Appliance was the first and last place that I looked for another. It's been a year now, and I love this thing. Works perfectly. We also had some guys out to do work on a washer and dryer and had a great experience with them as well. The whole crew here is always so knowledgeable and helpful.

Sure, there were a few items that were a little pricey (like these corner book shelves that were $350/ea.), but really everything else was pretty negotiable and, well, cheap! They even had a porch swing that I'm still considering coming back for and it's only $40!! Umm, lay off it--it's mine. They also have lots of appliances, antique and new, as well as new mattresses for a pretty teeny price. I'm tempted to also go back for their bed frames, since mine is on it's way out. And for only $20-25, you really can't beat that. I'm excited to come back when they get some new antiques in, but for the time being this place is packed with interesting things. I say packed because it's literally a hodge-podge of cool stuff piled on top of each other into a maze that's almost impossible to get through. That's how you know it's going to be good. Like I mentioned before, the gents there seemed relatively open to negotiation on some of the antique furniture pieces, so don't be too shy to ask. If you can get past the pure terror of hanging out in the neighborhood, you'll definitely be rewarded with treasures for cheap.

We couldn't do same day, so we met the following morning. Just as hoped, the guy kept it straightforward, honest, helpful and as described. A little context: Originally Sears was out (yes, they still exist). Having repaired a few refrigerators, garage doors and operator control boards myself over the years, I knew things weren't right with these Sears guys (yes, plural -- well, one in training, poor sod). They weren't dishonest, really, just excessive. Especially with cost (...pretty obviously constrained by dinosaur policy -- what felt geared towards getting a fleeced customer to buy a new appliance from Sears). The Sears guys estimated a four-figure two-man project, including for two off-the-shelf generic machine screws, $37 each, parts only. (Still had to pay them for coming out.) Bless their little hearts. I can see how people get bamboozed by this blue-shirted Sears "professionalism". Hearing good things, I contacted Daniil. And in a little more than a day, paid an eighth of the price for way more, better, no-nonsense, good natured, in-and-out service. With warranty. (Sears' job was to be "As-is" for an older-ish appliance in excellent condition.) We're grateful, Daniil -
