Updating my review with retrospective of having had PT at a several places following my surgery. I…read morestill think HSS Westchester is overrated but if you find a reasonable therapist there, it's okay (just don't pick Chery Sun). They are high volume so you may feel like a number but they try their best and you do get the full 20-30 minute with a PT compared to other chains where you may be with the assistant for half or more of the visits. They do have all the technology you could want (as do many other spots) and their scheduling system isn't the most client friendly and kind of a pain. But you eventually learn to navigate it and work with the (sometimes less than friendly) front desk staff. Overall, you can get your PT here if you want, just be aware of the advantages and disadvantages I mentioned, which may or may not apply to you at all. I did think that (like in many NYC area locations), the number of jerky therapists/staff is higher here than in other places (say Boston/DC)- but that's something you have to deal with regularly if you live in this area. Also be aware of the fact that in my opinion, PTs occasionally can make your orthopedic issues worse/injure you, especially if you get a PT who is not careful and who does not listen well to your feedback (it happened to me at a different location). This is a healthcare system wide issue and i did not get injured at HSS PT, however had I not changed PTs it may have happened. If you ever feel excessive pain during your PT and your PT does not seem to listen or take it seriously it may be in your best interest to get a new PT to avoid possibly injury.

I went for all their fancy tests. I spent five hours in that hospital to be told we cannot touch you because you have arthritis. They should have told me when I made a telephone appointment for their services. To top it off. I asked them if they could cut my leg above the arthritis, imagining the girl running with an artificial leg. " No, no," they said without hesitation. "We have another group of specialists that does that." Goodbye and walk away. They are quadruple-arm bandits in fancy respectable suits. I trusted them to help me but they helped themselves out of my ignorance. Just watch out, they will dazzle you with what they claimed as #1. Ask questions and more questions.

What triggered me to do this is simple, I arrived at the Doctors appointment 25 minuted late, it was out of my control. I waited almost a month to get this appointment and I was turned away directly by Dr. Daniel Markowitz. I had been calling every week in pain trying to get a closer date to see Dr. Markowitz. I had been to White Plains Physician Associates numerous times, for different body part issues and I always had to wait 30-45 minutes to see the Dr. When you visit a Dr. office you are never seen on time but you must always wait your turn regardless of how late the Dr. is running. When you are late they should also consider that, you are not there for fun you are there because there is a problem with your health. I left very upset but composed, I demanded all my medical records and history, now I will start looking for another team of Orthopedic Doctors to take care of my health. I will NEVER go back to WP Hospital Physician Associates because of their lack of caring, their lack of consideration and in fact I recommend that Doctors like Daniel Markowitz be sanctioned by the Medical Association. My daughter will be Doctor next year, I can guarantee you that she will never turn a patient in pain away. Doctor should be held at a higher standard because lives depend on them. When a Doctor feels he can turn away patients he should retire. This was unprofessional and irresponsible for Dr. Daniel Markowitz and the WP Hospital Physicians Associates located at 222 Westchester Ave in West Harrison with offices at 1296 North Ave, in New Rochelle.

I went to a spine specialist and left the consult with a bad feeling. I was referred to Dr Chiles by two co-workers. My first contact was with Sarah and Jessica in the office. They were absolutely fantastic and made this stressful situation so much better. At my consult, I felt comforted and impressed. Dr Chiles is very knowledgeable, yet spoke to me in terms I could understand. I was provided as long of an appointment as I needed to have all my options presented and all my questions answered. Actually, he provided so much pertinent information, many questions were answered before I asked them. My consult was informative, comforting, and left me with a true sense of hope. I needed a laminectomy, decompression and fusion of my L3-L5 vertebrae. We scheduled my surgery at NYP Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville. Dr Chiles and his surgical (as well as his office) staff are the absolute best. Together, they resolved my crippling back pain, got me standing upright, back on my feet and back to enjoying life pain free. Thank you to everyone who assisted me especially Dr Chiles! I highly recommend Dr Chiles to anyone with a spinal injury/illness. KMB

What's written here about Michael Knudsen is pure marketing hype. Couldn't be more misleading. He…read moresends nasty letters to patients, violating their rights, and with no compunction, refuses to offer needed treatment although is too junior to know what treatment is needed. He does admit he's a junior provider compared with others. Didn't suspect that meant he's desperate for acceptance by peers. No sense of professional ethics but being ethical and kind and compassionate is innate not an act. He's anything but the innocent smiling face his picture displays. If another provider a patient sees suggests aggressive unnecessary surgery and he knows it's wrong, to gain acceptance he will change his tune on a dime and say see that provider, putting peer approval above patient care. Won't explain his change in position as there's no acceptable explanation. Morphs from smiling and complimenting a patient and inviting them back to being aggressive and acting in a patient's disinterests without any provocation, in fact praise, just because he calculates that's best for his career path. He goes even further thinking he'll get more brownie points by telling patients that he doesn't even want to hear if they develop as much as a fever. He thinks that's the way to gain acceptance. Doesn't have the courage to disagree with a provider who he thinks is on the wrong track. He'll transfer the antagonistic view to the patient. He finds that safer. Way too afraid of standing for what he believes. See someone more mature who stands for something, most relevantly the patient. It would be a mistake to make an appointment with him. There are alternatives. One doctor in the office has an award for excellence. He's not the top level of the department, but is the clear choice if doing your homework. I didn't carefully. Consider ALL before deciding. It's nothing but grief when you need to change providers. There's always a reason when you do. This office is just one location of a larger hospital that is not reputably run so a doctor can get away with violating a patient's rights. This puts a large burden on the patient. There are ethical providers there who are respectful towards patients and to such an extent don't even know what's going on around them. They're busy doing their jobs respectfully and dutifully. What I did when dealing with Knudsen's transformation before my eyes (in writing to me to be precise) is not respond in kind and stay respectful just observe and know I was lucky to see his smiling coping strategy for what it is early enough. It's easy to have a halo effect on a patient. I know myself and can fall prey to that. Consider also whether one's position is so broad that they don't have time to devote to a patient.
