Clean and inviting! If you need to stop this is a good place to do so. Facilities were very clean and well stocked.

    ODOT Rest Area

The Ohio Department of Transportation (also simply known as ODOT) has a total of 85 rest areas…read morethroughout the Buckeye state. This one is located directly off of eastbound I-90 in Mentor, the most populated city in Lake County. It is one of the more popular rest areas as many travelers stop here on the way from Cleveland and up to other cities by Lake Erie including Madison, Geneva, Ashtabula, Conneaut, and eventually towards the Pennsylvania border will you'll reach Erie. I stopped here after a long day driving through Michigan while having to use the mens' restroom. This stop is quite convenient as there are 29 parking spots for passenger vehicles and 10 parking spots for semi-trucks. Some other features is that they offer drinking fountains located inside, a map showcasing much of northern Ohio and the surrounding areas, large spotlights for those that wish to come here at night, and flags that represent the United States and the state of Ohio. What I particularly like about this rest area is that they offer an abundance of picnic tables complete with trash containers nearby. This is excellent for people that wish to stop, stretch and eat as well as a nice little spacious area for children to play and dogs to walk. There is also a nice amount of trees and landscaping to block out the sunlight which makes this one of the more beautiful rest areas that I have frequented. All in all, the "Mentor - ODOT Rest Area" is a safe and above average stop that I highly recommend. My rating, an above average three stars.

"Kingsville Travel Center" a.k.a. "TA Kingsville" is a one-stop shop servicing all of your needs…read morewhen you're on a long road trip. There are a vast amount of these around the country and this one is on SR-193 and just a couple minutes of I-90 in the small community of Kingsville, OH. To give you an idea where this travel center is located, it is roughly an hour east of Cleveland and about 45 minutes west of Erie, PA. This place is geared primarily for long haul truckers that need a place to fuel up, rest, and purchase all the basic necessities. This means they carry regular unleaded gasoline but also several types of diesel fuel as well as DEF fluid for big-rigs/semi trucks. Some other perks of this place are that they have a dedicated basketball hoop area, pet area, arcade machines, laundry room, driver lounge for relaxing, free Wi-Fi, Amazon lockers, and a dedicated truck maintenance area. The only restaurant I saw here was Burger King (which is open from 8am-9pm seven days a week) but the actual travel center has all your basic food needs, similar to a convenient store. This includes hot/iced coffee, hot dogs, sandwiches, cold beverages, snacks, and candy. They also carry quite a bit of non-food items including oil, coolant, sunglasses, hats, maps, and everything you need to get you on your way. For many of us, convenience is everything With that said and done, I am giving the "TA Kingsville Travel Center" an above average four-star rating.

    Pilot Travel Center

This wasn't my favorite pilot in the world…read more I travel quite a bit for work and I always love stopping at pilot, loves, and TA. The way you get into the entrance off of the main road it's kind of weird, and potentially dangerous. The specials on the tag we're not exactly the way it says. "Buy one get one with any drink" doesn't actually mean any drink, but no one knows the specifics of the sale itself. The Staff there we're kind of rude and I'm a pretty damn nice guy so I wasn't pleased with that. After a couple huffs and puffs and a walk to the actual tag, she realized what it said and still couldn't explain it. Then I asked if I still wanted the items, of course I want the items and I want to sell that the tech says the pilot is doing. when the manager was finally brought over it's a care of the situation. But I never judge a book by the initial appearance the selection was still ample, the atmosphere was still pretty light, and all the items were stocked, the bathroom was clean and I can't ask for much more than that except for maybe a little nicer people and I'm from New York.

This is just a truck stop people! Settle down! This legendary Pilot truck stop is legendary because I stop there a lot. So it's legendary in my own mind. And this is my review so I will continue to call it legendary as I see fit. Anyway this legendary truck stop is often my very last stop on the way back to Buffalo after wild adventures in the South or the West or the Midwest. Especially the Midwest because I go there a lot because the food is great. Such as Chicago or Cleveland or even Pittsburgh. It's on the south side of Interstate 90 and is fairly convenient in terms of location but somewhat less convenient in terms of getting in and out because you have to make a right off the highway and then a right into a street and then a right into the plaza, rather than turning directly into it from the road. And this means that if there are trucks or slow cars or distracted cars getting in and out then you will have a little bit of a hard time. But the bathrooms are fine and the gas is sometimes as much as 40 or 50 cents cheaper than in Pennsylvania, and almost always much cheaper than in New York state, so I get gas here quite a lot, despite it being quite annoying to get in and out of at times.
