A beautifully restored historic theater! I visited this…read moretheater for the first time for a wheeling symphony concert. Purchasing the tickets over the phone was a breeze with the friendly and helpful box office staff. They even gave me advice on parking, Speaking of, there are paid lots right next to the theater (cash only) but only one street over there was plenty of on street parking. There were two entrances from the Main Street and the entrance by the concession stand had a shorter wait to get in. The concession area was clean and there was a nice variety that was fairly priced. The line was quite long, though. There were plenty of ushers stationed throughout the theater to help direct you to your seats. A lot of them were part of a youth volunteer program which I loved to see. The seats were typical of older theaters in that they aren't overly spacious and there isn't a lot of leg room. I wasn't y uncomfortable, though. You can see from anywhere which is a plus. A great venue I would definitely return to.

The lines for drinks and snacks were long, but moved very quickly. The staff were friendly and we had no problems getting to our seats. The views of the ornate ceiling and statues are beautiful! The sound quality was on par and so was the lighting. The bathrooms were a little interesting. The stalls are very short and reminded me a lot of an elementary school bathroom. All functional, though! The ladies room ran out of paper towels kind of early. Parking is on the street or in a nearby garage.

Here in the "rust belt" of southwestern Pennsylvania, in Ambridge, PA, on the outskirts of…read morePittsburgh, is a gem of a community theater. Since 2016 this non-profit group of folks has been bringing some delightful productions to the community with some very talented thespians, directors, production crews, and artists of all kinds to put on a variety of outstanding productions. My daughter has been in shows here and I had a distinct pleasure, on Father's day, of attending a most excellent production of "Harps and Harmonicas". She is currently looking to be in one or more productions here in the near future and I have been impressed with the people involved in this great little community theater both out front and behind the scenes. This season (202) has The Boys Next Door, The Mad Ones, Doubt: A Parable and Musical on tap so far this season. Bottom line: They need more parking so if you don't arrive early you might be pressed to seek it out on the surrounding streets, the theater isn't huge but it's quaint and there are some really talented folks here with a lot of heart. A new age theater in an old school building New Hazlett…read moreTheater is situated in the bones of the original Carnegie Hall on the Northside. Huge perk for this theater is the free parking! With a partnership with AHN, they direct you with ample signage and the lot is simple to enter right across from the theater! The area is beautiful and very safe! Tree lined sidewalks and clean areas around. The theater is a little outdated in entry. For a small capacity, you stood outside in line for an extended time due to a single ticket taker with a clipboard list. This delayed the performance by 15 minutes as he struggled to check people in. The lobby is centered around a bar for refreshments. The tickets are sold per section (A-D) without specific assigned seats. We set in the mezzanine and entered through the second floor. Some of the seats are "dangerous" with small catwalks and seats perched with no floor behind them. My friend actually lost her shoe mid performance as it fell through the opening. The productions are limited in set design and technology due to the theater size but there are plenty of plays and shows that don't require as much. If you have a chance to check out New Hazlett, I'd definitely recommend it.

This is such a neat space! The outside is a gorgeous old building with tons of charm. But the…read moretheater inside is modern. I've been here for a variety of events (and that is one of the cool things about the space). There are resident companies that use the space, but various organizations and companies can also rent the space. Which means there is a nice mix of programming available. There are seats around the stage (which aren't always used for each performance) and upper and lower level seating. One thing to note is that their seats are not that wide, so if you are a larger patron or have a wider bottom, it will be a tight squeeze. Sight lines are great from everywhere and it is easy to hear. Parking is available for free in the garage right near the theater. A great place to catch a show!
