Ogle School - Thanks Madi! - Cosmetology Schools Near Me - Denton, Texas

A bitter sweet day for me here at Ogle in Denton. My stylist Adam is departing from the land of Ogle, and venturing to new heights within life. He's an inspiring artist, professional at best. Not to sound cliche but, he's genuinely a gentle soul with a heart of gold. Over the course of time, have learned a bit of history about Adam and his background. It's true what they say, never judge a book by its cover! You'll never know what is meant for one to discover if you allow the opportunity to pass you by. He will certainly go far in life, Adam. Take care my new found friend, and all the best in life for you. read more

I enjoyed getting waxed here. There hard wax is different than anywhere I've ever been and it makes the whole process much gentler. I will definitely continue to get waxed here. Better wax product and costs much less than my other specialty wax salons! read more

Jessica P. did a great job. I got a hair cut and highlights. I will be back. I was looking for a place that wouldn't break the bank and still get a good cut and highlights. its very reasonable! read more

I've visited other cosmetology schools before and I never have been to a place that was operated so poorly. I'm black and just wanted a simple wash, blow dry and straighten. I was paired with a student who has clearly never done black hair before. It felt like she was scared to touch my hair. After washing my hair it felt disgusting since product was left in my hair. She didn't know how to blow dry my hair and the flat iron was a joke. I'm surprised the instructor looked at my hair and made me pay for a wash and blow dry. I left before she got to finish because it was a joke. Why are you gonna pair with someone who has no idea what they are doing??? read more

Great service! Thorough, friendly, professional. Full facial wax and super happy about it....rescheduling for sure.

Before my daughter started to school there I never thought about getting services done there. I got a nice shampoo, hair cut and blow dry for $9.00! The students are friendly and polite and the instructors are in hand to provide guidance if it's needed and a final inspection. On completion. I totally recommend Ogle school for services. They do all aspects of hair care including cuts, styles, color, etc. Thy also do waxing and nails, facials and microdermabrasion etc. They take appointments any day and even after.work hours. read more

This place is great the students are super sweet and they have reasonable prices.I would definitely recommend someone to come here for hair or makeup!! It's a great experience for you and the student l. read more

I like my haircut and I liked the woman who cut it. But the customer service here is awful. The students just stand around and talk about inappropriate things right in front of me. You'd think they'd be teaching this students to be professional...sad that they allow that. Waited 20 minutes to be seen and it's not busy at all with an appointment. My hair cut was done well, but not worth the bullshit. read more

The staff and students are super friendly. I got a shampoo and cut and although it took a while, which was to be expected with someone learning, they did a good job. read more

Love coming here with lyric to get our hair done....and a discount to boot!!the staff is always so nice and informative! read more

I had an appointment. I show up 10 minutes early and they tell me that the girl that was going to do my hair went home early. I never received a phone call telling me this. They then proceeded to tell me that I needed to find someone to watch my baby because babies weren't allowed in the salon. Super unprofessional, I wouldn't waste my time going here. Very poor experience. read more

As a college student im always looking to save money wherever i can! All the girls here are really good at what they do and i was super happy with how my rose gold ombré hair turned out! read more

I go to school and I'm serious do not come here for a service do not come here for school , this place is the biggest shit show ever. From termites in the spa , to broken machines and leaks in the ceiling . Too the instructors who bully and play favorites . The teaching here is mediocre, and I regret 16k on this place and giving them more money . Everyone in my phase and my friends in cosmetology hate it here . They are not consistent they purposely change stuff to make it harder on the students to learn, and do not hold the student handbook up , like for instance bullying . Instructors take instructors side and don't hear out the students . Overall this place is a joke , and do not spend your money at this place for anything! read more

Girls did my hair awesome not color i wanted bc instructors was unprofessional in cost... I was giving a price then when hair was half done they which instructors and sec one said for what i want more money so i was forced to go with what was half done! The girls did a wonderful job knowing what i asked for... problem was switching instructors and sec one trying to completely change what i was offered and wanted. Girls did great job trying to please me and them. I will only come to see girls for trim never color again read more

Had a great experience. my Hairstylist took her time and when she wasn't sure she asked her instructor. I am very happy with the results. I walked in a frizzy mess and walked out with sleek shiny hair. The best part was I didn't feel anxiety like I usually do When I go out. The atmosphere here was very friendly read more

I am very particular about my hair so when someone suggested getting my hair done here I was skeptical to say the least. But I made an appointment anyway. I was so surprised how well it turned out. The stylist and receptionist were welcoming, the prices are cheap and the teachers are next to them to help. There are also a lot of walk ins and there usually not to busy. I highly recommend coming here for color and if your nervous you can ask for a specific phase...the higher the phase the more experienced read more

I made an appointment for 7:30pm, wanted a cut and color also maybe my nails done but was told they can't do color or nails at night. Only during the day so everyone keep that in mind when making your appointments. Brittany cut my hair and she really took her time and did a great job! Cuts all include shampoo, condition and she even styled with the blow dryer afterward. Only $11 for a cut! And $2 off on Yelp! Considering I am very picky about hair cuts, i think she did a fantastic job! Definitely going back again for a color and nails very soon :) New favorite salon for sure. read more

I finally decided to cut off all my hair into a pixie style, and my friend suggested I go see Casey for the cut. I'm so glad I did! I was nervous about such a dramatic change in style, but he made me feel very comfortable about it. He walked me through how he was going to go about the cut, and the different looks that would fit what I was looking for personality-wise, and did a FANTASTIC job. He was very charming, friendly, and helpful. Oh, and not to mention talented. Ogle School is a great atmosphere and a very clean and friendly salon. I highly suggest going here for your next cut. I'm definitely going back, actually, I even scheduled a coloring for tomorrow! 10/10. read more

I got a haircut there and it took awhile for the student, but the cut did turn out good.

I love to see new students and they are doing so well and professional when I come in. Enjoy the instructors too.

So happy with my experience! Will definitely be back when I need a new hairdo! Kearra was the best!

I always leave with the best hair cut and color! Angel is the only one I use and schedule appointments with although I'm sure the others are just as great. She listens and gives her thoughts if I'm too left field. My only caution is remember this is a school. Take your patience and let them take their time as they are learning; don't be in a hurry. read more

Best Ogle School appt. that I have ever had! Maddison was amazing and really did great stuff to my hair!

Dude, I've gone to several schools to keep my hair up and Ogle in Denton is by far the best. I've stayed with them a few months and gone through a few new students. The instructors are super helpful when the students need it and they give them room to work when they don't need special instruction!!! The salon is always clean as well and the music is great every single time I'm here! read more

Eyebrows on fleen! Hair is on point! Love this place and Melinda who is going to work at JCPenny very soon! Yaya!

Great service, great price. The instructors are there to supervise. Students really try hard to do it right. I guess their grade depends on it. I'll come back read more

I went to ogle denton to get my eyelash extensions done. the service was very relaxing so much so i fell asleep during the proceedure. lol! a very fun and super sweet lady named ashley did my service and it was very enjoyable. i will be returning for more. read more

They do a sort of okay job for the price as far as actual services go. But, they do take twice - 3x longer than an actual salon. However, there customer service is severely lacking. Everybody seems completely clueless about operations and has no idea what's going on. They overbook all the time and don't call you to reschedule. Instead they wait for you to show up and try to bump you to an appt time that's an hour or 2 later.... And act like it's no big deal and they are doing you a favor. I understand that it is a school, but the Aveda Institute has it completely together, so being a school is not an excuse for a poor operation. read more

When I went to the Ogle School for Hair, Skin, and Nails in Denton, TX I was very pleased with the services. The student assigned to me went through all the steps that she had to before she could actually cut my hair. While she was doing it, she explained the steps and why she had to do it right then instead of after the hair cut. Her teacher came over a few times to check on me and the job the student was doing. I thought the student assigned to me did a magnificent job, and I would definitely go back again. You can't beat the price, and you have to understand that most people there are learning how to cut hair. They are tought other things, but focus on their trade, a lot like everyone else that gets a higher education. You get the basics of everything, but pay the most attention to your specific field. read more

Love coming here to get a blowout with great shampoo. Morgan was AWESOME!!!! BEST BLOWOUT EVER!!!

This place is awful, I will never ever go back!! I went there three times over the past few months and had a really bad experience every time. I kept going back because I couldn't afford a hair salon, but I don't even mind spending 3 times as much anymore. The first time, I went and asked for a dark purple hair color, they dyed my hair almost black with almost no purple in it. The second time, they did dye it dark purple but my hair bled out the dye for a whole month every time I washed it and it ruined my pillow and my tops. The third time was the worst, I went for a trim and the guy who did it took 2 freaking hours to trim one inch of my hair. He brushed my hair 3 times and yanked on it so hard every time, I had tears in my eyes and was clenching my fists. I had honestly never experienced so much pain while getting brushed and I'm not exaggerating! He was nice and polite but so inexperienced, he obviously hadn't been taught how to brush a woman's hair. I don't know why I didn't complain when they asked me how my experience was, but even if they offered a free haircut for my next visit I would not accept, as I never want to set foot in that place again. read more

95% of the students that have done my hair here, have had wonderful customer service & have been very patient with helping me choose what I want done with my hair with whatever budget I've come in with that day. I've always left loving my hair color/cut, and the price I spent! Would def recommend to anyone wanting to help out students while wanting a good priced new hair do at the same time! :) read more

If no stars were possible, this place would get it. I wanted a fade with a scissor cut to clean up the top... Yeah. A Jonus brother looking undercut with a lot of length upstairs is NOT what I asked for. I got tired of telling the instructor and the student what I wanted. I will NOT be going back. read more

I had my wedding hair & make-up done here and I am so very thankful! The students are phenomenal! These women took great care of me making sure that I was happy every step of the way!! Thank you for making my day beyond amazing! read more

The school is a good school. My only complaint is that they teach the students how to do all types ok hair

Love their services and have been coming for years! The staff and students are great, and do a wonderful job, but remember the students are LEARNING. If things don't go perfect, make sure to say so because the students, instructors, and staff will work to make things good. Their hair and esthetic services are great with excellent prices. My BIGGEST complaint is they don't offer Back Treatments anymore!!! And my one suggestion is get new sheets/blankets. :-) read more

I went here because I was recommended by a friend because of the good services and cheap prices. I scheduled a mani-pedi, makeup, and prom specialty style. The pedicure was below average, and the manicure was average. The makeup was also alright, except they cannot put mascara on because of hygiene reasons. I asked for a beach wavy style and instead was left with tangly curls and still damp hair, that was encrusted with hairspray. Obviously, as it was right before prom, I was stressed and immediately called my salon that highlights my hair. Cloud Nine Salon saved the day, after being extremely disappointed in this school. read more
