I've visited other cosmetology schools before and I never have been to a place that was operated so poorly. I'm black and just wanted a simple wash, blow dry and straighten. I was paired with a student who has clearly never done black hair before. It felt like she was scared to touch my hair. After washing my hair it felt disgusting since product was left in my hair. She didn't know how to blow dry my hair and the flat iron was a joke. I'm surprised the instructor looked at my hair and made me pay for a wash and blow dry. Before my daughter started to school there I never thought about getting services done there. I got a nice shampoo, hair cut and blow dry for $9.00! The students are friendly and polite and the instructors are in hand to provide guidance if it's needed and a final inspection. On completion. I totally recommend Ogle school for services. They do all aspects of hair care including cuts, styles, color, etc. Thy also do waxing and nails, facials and microdermabrasion etc. They take appointments any day and even after.work hours. read more

I had an appointment. I show up 10 minutes early and they tell me that the girl that was going to do my hair went home early. I never received a phone call telling me this. They then proceeded to tell me that I needed to find someone to watch my baby because babies weren't allowed in the salon. Super unprofessional, I wouldn't waste my time going here. I go to school and I'm serious do not come here for a service do not come here for school , this place is the biggest shit show ever. From termites in the spa , to broken machines and leaks in the ceiling . Too the instructors who bully and play favorites . The teaching here is mediocre, and I regret 16k on this place and giving them more money . Everyone in my phase and my friends in cosmetology hate it here . They are not consistent they purposely change stuff to make it harder on the students to learn, and do not hold the student handbook up , like for instance bullying . Girls did my hair awesome not color i wanted bc instructors was unprofessional in cost... I was giving a price then when hair was half done they which instructors and sec one said for what i want more money so i was forced to go with what was half done! I made an appointment for 7:30pm, wanted a cut and color also maybe my nails done but was told they can't do color or nails at night. Only during the day so everyone keep that in mind when making your appointments. Brittany cut my hair and she really took her time and did a great job! Cuts all include shampoo, condition and she even styled with the blow dryer afterward. Only $11 for a cut! And $2 off on Yelp! I finally decided to cut off all my hair into a pixie style, and my friend suggested I go see Casey for the cut. I'm so glad I did! I was nervous about such a dramatic change in style, but he made me feel very comfortable about it. He walked me through how he was going to go about the cut, and the different looks that would fit what I was looking for personality-wise, and did a FANTASTIC job. He was very charming, friendly, and helpful. Oh, and not to mention talented. Ogle School is a great atmosphere and a very clean and friendly salon. I highly suggest going here for your next cut. This place is awful, I will never ever go back!! I went there three times over the past few months and had a really bad experience every time. I kept going back because I couldn't afford a hair salon, but I don't even mind spending 3 times as much anymore. The first time, I went and asked for a dark purple hair color, they dyed my hair almost black with almost no purple in it. The second time, they did dye it dark purple but my hair bled out the dye for a whole month every time I washed it and it ruined my pillow and my tops. The third time was the worst, I went for a trim and the guy who did it took 2 freaking hours to trim one inch of my hair. He brushed my hair 3 times and yanked on it so hard every time, I had tears in my eyes and was clenching my fists. I had honestly never experienced so much pain while getting brushed and I'm not exaggerating! He was nice and polite but so inexperienced, he obviously hadn't been taught how to brush a woman's hair. I don't know why I didn't complain when they asked me how my experience was, but even if they offered a free haircut for my next visit I would not accept, as I never want to set foot in that place again. read more

95% of the students that have done my hair here, have had wonderful customer service & have been very patient with helping me choose what I want done with my hair with whatever budget I've come in with that day. Love their services and have been coming for years! The staff and students are great, and do a wonderful job, but remember the students are LEARNING. If things don't go perfect, make sure to say so because the students, instructors, and staff will work to make things good. Their hair and esthetic services are great with excellent prices. My BIGGEST complaint is they don't offer Back Treatments anymore!!! And my one suggestion is get new sheets/blankets. :-) read more

They do a sort of okay job for the price as far as actual services go. But, they do take twice - 3x longer than an actual salon. However, there customer service is severely lacking. Everybody seems completely clueless about operations and has no idea what's going on. They overbook all the time and don't call you to reschedule. Instead they wait for you to show up and try to bump you to an appt time that's an hour or 2 later.... And act like it's no big deal and they are doing you a favor. I understand that it is a school, but the Aveda Institute has it completely together, so being a school is not an excuse for a poor operation. read more

When I went to the Ogle School for Hair, Skin, and Nails in Denton, TX I was very pleased with the services. The student assigned to me went through all the steps that she had to before she could actually cut my hair. While she was doing it, she explained the steps and why she had to do it right then instead of after the hair cut. Her teacher came over a few times to check on me and the job the student was doing. I thought the student assigned to me did a magnificent job, and I would definitely go back again. You can't beat the price, and you have to understand that most people there are learning how to cut hair. They are tought other things, but focus on their trade, a lot like everyone else that gets a higher education. You get the basics of everything, but pay the most attention to your specific field. read more

I decided to give Ogle a try, I am sorry I did. I went in to lighten to my hair, came out looking yellow. It started when I arrived and was told I would be given 50% off for my services, a coupon was attached to the top of the sheet. Carla introduced herself and told me again, I would be given 50% off. I agreed. I told Carla I wanted my hair lighter and I heard the word "bleach". I said I wanted it lighter and did not want to look like Gwen Stefani. She told me I wouldn't, it wasn't that kind of bleach. Ms. T consulted with her and again, the word "bleach". I reiterated, I wanted my hair lighter in a subtle way, not Gwen Stefani. Again, not that kind of bleach. Ok. Then Ms. T told me I was not eligible for the 50% off after being told by 2 other people there I was. So my cost my $73.00. We proceeded, not only was my hair not being timed by Carla, but she disappeared for a while and Ms. T had to go and get her stating, "we don't leave clients". She eventually returned and said my hair was "lifting" well. I voiced I was concerned about the color as it was pineapple yellow. Neither Carla nor Ms. T appeared to be concerned. It was yellow. Everyone told me how beautiful it was, no, it was ugly and I told them that. They told me I could come back and they could put some toner in it as they were about to close. I asked for a cut as well, Carla starting cutting, then Ms. T came over to "fix it". I left, not to go back out in public for a couple of days, literally. I found another hairstylist who managed to tone it down a little. She also showed me that my right side was about 2 inches shorter than my left, so she had to fix that as well. As the days wore on, the last toner was fading and I decided to go with a box. Best decision ever as I figured if my hair fell out, I would get a wig. Never will I darken their door, nor refer anyone there. I'm out $250, when the $8 box did what was needed, lesson learned. I don't want to hear from anyone at Ogle, just want people to know. I went in knowing it won't be perfect there will be mess ups but it went horrible. I went in for a cut and color at 1030 left at 230!!! 4 hours! I had hair down to my waist long and wanted a longer bob look and she cut above my shoulders! I chose a color medium brown and it came out pretty much as black brown as you can get. The girl only has two months before she is done and her instructor still had to fix the uneven parts at the end. I also ended up wth color stained all over my forehead face neck and ears she try to clean off four different times and still sent me home with it all over me. I had to take rubbing alcohol to myself at home to get it mostly off. read more
