The communication right from the beginning was very well done. Students work the phones, the front…read moredesk, and do all of the services. There are instructors on the floor that the students can go to for help. Keep in mind that because it's a school, the work will most likely take longer because they are learning and have questions. But it is obvious that the students want to do their best. I had a service that none of the students had seen before, a braid perm. They kept coming by to see how it was done. I was so impressed with their level of excitement about learning a new process. And my cosmetologist, B, was awesome!!! She was on her feet for almost 6 hours straight and had a great attitude! It was her first perm, let alone one she had never heard of. And her fellow students jumped in whenever she needed help. I am impressed with their professionalism, desire to learn, and how they performed their services.

Are you kidding me?! I had a perm starting at 2pm in which the students and instructors during the…read moreday shift were wonderful! When it came time for the evening and the 1st solution applied to my hair and rods for the perm, I was forgotten and the solution which should have only been 20 minutes, 50 minutes later was finally washed out. Needless to say the student then started to take out the rods without applying the 2nd solution until I pointed out to her what needed to be done. No help from any instructors in the evening, even though they were clearly leaning up against the wall, talking and I expressed frustration about the perm, instructors did nothing! Evening instructors at this location are deceitful unfortunately. If you can make your hair appointment in the day, do so!

Madison Buffo was super sweet. I appreciate her kindness, her willingness to learn, and her wonderful personality. She is going to do amazing things!

This was my first visit to the Ogle School- North Dallas location. I called the day before to find…read moreout if they take walk ins or if you can make an appointment. I was told that they do take walk ins but it appears those are taken when there is an opening. So, you really want to have an appointment to keep your waiting time to a minimum. My regular stylist is out due to surgery and some medical issues so that is why I was looking for an alternative. I still felt like I was cheating on her, even though she is unavailable to see me at this time. I had a 9:00 appointment (when they open) the following day and I had to wait about 10 minutes before Caroline, my stylist, came to get me. I found Caroline to be very pleasant and eager to please. She was very concerned about my comfort and was so easy to talk to. Other Yelp reviews that complain about the length of time, need to remember that this is a school and you are receiving services from a student that is learning how to provide the services you are receiving. The price reflects this. Where else can you receive a shampoo, haircut and blow dry for $12.00? I thought that Caroline did an amazing job and took great care to give me an excellent haircut. My hair is very thin and fine, so it usually takes awhile to get all those layers cut. I found the instructors to be very kind and helpful and provide instruction without being condescending to the student. One thing that tickled me was all of the mannequin heads that the students work on to learn from. They are a rubber head with various hair types that slip into a tripod holder. They even wear a cape. Every time I turned my head there was another one! I asked the girls next to me if they named them and one said "Manny Quinn"! :-) I was there probably about two hours, but the time went by so fast. She took great care to put into action what she just learned in class that week. She was very open to learning from the instructors that shared a technique to try. How awesome to be able to help someone gain skills and get a great haircut in the process!?! She will no doubt become a little faster with more practice and experience. We all start out doing things a little slower in the beginning and become more efficient with experience. Please show some patience and grace with the student stylists. I also bought some product, if you bought 3 items you received 20% off their price. So the total charge for my haircut and 3 products came to $40 plus tax and tip to the stylist. I had a wonderful morning and was glad I chose Ogle School for my service today!
