It feels pretty spread out and lonely in the store but that doesn't stop the staff from being friendly and helping you find what you need.

I've been here several times precovid, mainly for use of their lamination machine and printers that print on thick cardstock. They offer different print and fax services, photo restoration, and laminating for orders small and large. You can even email your document to them with instructions and it'll be complete when you go to pick up. With that being said I've use this service when I create custom invitations that need printed on cardstock and the counter has always been busy. It is clearly their busiest department and I'm often left waiting for assistance for 15 minutes or more. It's not a service you'd want to attempt on your lunch break. I've also bought ink, a printer, and camera card over the years. I've found their prices high for some items and service to be average. What I can appreciate since covid hit is the curbside pick up which really is touchless. You roll down your window and they literally throw your purchase in your car, at times quite aggressively. If you don't need it now order and pay online and have it dropped off free the next day which is currently the service I use when I need ink. It's a service I hope they continue when this pandemic is over. read more

If I could give -1 ... I would. This is a long over due post. Last year on June 6, 2019 I ordered (online) 3 prints. My printer at home was busted and I thought I'd just upload my pics and pick them up at Office Max. They had some kind of online special and stupidly... I said "well.. I've never tried them, let me give it a go." Up until this point I'd only ever used shutterfly or Fed-ex Kinko's (FYI: NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THEM.) Ok back to office max. Uploading, online checkout... no issue. That was the end of no issues. I never got an update to pick up my pics. I had to call in and ask (next day.) although they were supposed to send a notification to my phone in an hour. And before you ask, yes I input my cell number as designated to do so online. Next went to pick up my pics, which were from my niece's wedding.. so I was eager to have 'em and actually hang them on my wall at home (I know... kinda retro... but I still like frames on the wall occassionally.) Any way, got there. Line was longgggg! Despite there being 3 workers only one was at the register. I tried to ask if I could just pick them up at that pick up tower at the front and they kept telling me "one more minute.." Finally got help (after 30 minutes, maybe a kil' more.) And guess what? Yup! I could've just got them at the pick up tower. Movin' on. Paid for them at the "regular checkout." Cause online only puts a hold on your card (don't know if that's changed by now.) I get out to my car, decide to open the envelope, since I didn't look while in the store. My GOD! The quality is/was HORRIBLE. Glossy print looks like dull matte. There were some kind of scratch markings on the photos. Helllll nooooo! Went back in. Lol. They all looked nervous. Probably 'cause I looked horrified from the lack of pride in THEIR work. Showed them the horrid prints and the guy (who allegedly was a manager for that dept.) said "hmm ohh yea I see it a little." This fool! Even a blind man could see the scratches. If not for the lack of privacy I would post the photos. This guy had to reprint the pics 4 times and from 3 different machines... and the pics although by the 3rd machine had no scratches on them... still looked Dull AF. But I was annoyed and thought it best to pay w/e the hell and get out before I just shoved the ugly prints up the guys nose. Did they offer a discount? Nope. Did they apologize? Nope. The guy did say I could keep all the reprints... (Insert wtfkery face here.) Yes, I am so honored that you let me keep all the f'd up prints. Geee.. thank you so much mister. Lmao. This place is a joke. Ever since then I do NOT buy ANYTHING from this store. On line or instore. I also actively tell people (friends/fam) NOT to give them their business. Especially if you are looking to have any kind of printing work. Moral of the story? Print at home, use Shutterly or FedEx Kinko's! read more

This is a terrible place to work and shop. Prices are way too high barely any good respectable workers there. The boss is a joke and her other two managers. Treat employees like crap and talk about them. She will act like she's friendly for the interview the next thing that happens she's treating you like your a nobody. So I left went and got work at a company that appreciates their employees. I'm at my new job she sends one of her employees to my job to be nosey. I guess she was trying to intimidate me but that didn't work. I don't recommend this store to anyone. read more

I've never been so embarrassed in my life. I've made my last Office Max purchase. I purchased over $500 worth of items online. Tells me it will be ready in 20mins for pick up. I live 30mins away, so I figure 10mins to spare. I arrive and I can tell the type place this is. Hits me with let us check our system, and 30 mins turns into a hour. So the person who is suppose to get my order has two options. 1) We can give you your money back in 3-5 days and you can buy the items we have already charged you for again, or you can wait 5 mins or a day for your order to go through. Oh and he figured it would be best to yell that out to the entire store. read more

Customer service at this location is absolutely terrible. When I walked into the main store I was greeted. As I walked around I have 2 associates come up and say hello in a very awkward manner. They didn't ask if I needed help, just stood there staring. As I kept moving on, after not finding what I needed, I went over to the print side. I stood there for 10 minutes waiting for an associate to help me. There were four people working behind the counter, not a single one even asked what I needed. So I tried to use the self service copier, but it wasn't even working. I tried turning it on, nothing. So I left the store accomplishing nothing. I will never return to this location and would go right on down the road to Staples. read more

Every time I come in here I can never find what I'm looking for, and the employees often seem really out of it. I remember one time I came in to get a phone, and they neither had my first choice nor my second choice, and refused to sell me the display models of either. Weird. Prices are okay, selection is decent. Although they have discontinued their store brand of photo paper in a specific finish that I used to go through several packs of every year and only recently have I found a replacement at Staples. read more

Absolutely the worst shopping experience I have had, in years. I just wanted to buy a laptop, I was met by a guy wearing an HP name tag, telling me which laptop i needed to buy, a Hewlitt-packard of course. I do not like HP, as they have proprietary memory. I found the laptop I wanted but could not find a way to buy it. No boxed computers, no tag to take to the checkout. I ask the guy how do I buy a computer, he said he would begrudgingly get someone to help me as I was making a mistake. I told him never mind, i needed to think more about my purchase and left. I returned later hoping he was gone. I went to the service desk to get help to buy the computer. The person there was helping a customer whom they obviously worked on his computer and deleted programs he still wanted. After 5 minutes he stops and asks me what I needed, I told him and he said give me a few minutes. After he finally finished with the gentleman, he walks out to help a customer with getting something to their car. He comes back in sees me and realizes he forgot about me. I show him the laptop I want he scans the tag and says " we don't have any, you want me to order you one?". I left. I will not return. read more

Yesterday I came into the printing center to get help printing a Christmas gift. At the paper center, the was a young girl who was so sweet and had dark long hair. She helped me pick out paper and directed me to print. The store had other customers while I was there but I felt well attended to and the prints turned out amazing. I would recommend this store to any friend, even if you are not tec-savvy because she made it so easy to print. read more

Looked at a number of places for a new bag for the office. Finally stopped here and was happy to find a number of options. Found one that was missing a price tag. Was helped by a clerk who took the time to find me a price. Was pleasantly surprised to have him recommend the much cheaper version. Based in his personal recommendation I purchased a nice Swiss bag that was $90.00 cheaper then my other choice. Will break it in tomorrow on a business trip to NYC. They even opened another check out since a customer in front of me had a large order. Nice service. Clean store and helpful. Recommend. read more

I never met rude old people before I came here. The geriatrics running the print center are ignorant and ineffective. What a frustrating experience this was. I'm usually very tolerant and friendly and was on my visit but boy was I close to flipping my lid. It reminded me of the Chapelle show skit with the fake Kinkos. read more

I went into the store to find a USB hard drive, and made the mistake of talking to one of the floor clerks. Not only did they know nothing about hard drives, but as soon as I said I had a Mac, he launched into a diatribe about how much he "hates Apple." When I asked him about a particular hard drive and whether it was compatible with Mac, he said he "thinks so." I asked him to check the box (located behind the counter) to be sure, but he refused, saying he "thought" he was "sure." Needless to say, I walked out without purchasing. I've been a customer for some time, yet every time I've gone to this store, the lack of knowledge and courtesy exhibited by the clerks has left MUCH to be desired. I usually don't go to office max but they have been having better deals than staples. When checking out the cashier seemed super agitated.

Someone said "zombies" were running this place. Indeed. I'd even call them slugs. The print center had 3 employees, and two were kind of working. Kind of. One was on a computer with customers, but she would occasionally get up and wander to the back of her station and stare ahead in a daze. The managerial-type man worked, but in what capacity was unclear. He copied a woman's photos, rang her up, and then said he would be able to help me shortly. I walked one foot away to the printer, which was occupied by a couple printing out thousands of ballots, and turn around and ask him for assistance. He pointed to the computer worker, and said when she was free, she could help. He immediately became unable to work from that point on.The other worker, and I mean this, literally just stood in the back, making herself look busy. I know your game, lady! I waited seven minutes, and STILL the couple was printing their thousands of ballots, STILL the pretend worker was make-believe working, and STILL the computer worker was assisting the people. Staples, just a street over, was a knight in shining armour, whereas this place was a demonic evil stepmother. read more

OfficeMax isn't horrible...OfficeDepot is. A while ago, I stopped by to purchase some flash drives since they were having a sale. When I arrived, I saw that the shelf in which they should have been housed was empty. Someone (who turned out to be the manager) came over and helped us find another shelf where they were stored. Sadly, there were none there, either. The manager offered to mark down the flash drives that were in stock to the sale price. He was very kind and I was very thankful. The problem is with OfficeDepot. Ever since they merged with OfficeMax, my experiences have been less positive. I needed a tri-fold poster board for my job, so I researched the cheapest one online. When I found it, I made sure it was in-stock (which it supposedly was) and I printed out the item info page. I then took it to OfficeMax. I couldn't find it, so I got a different one (with no price tag - actually none of them had price tags) and took it to the checkout counter. It turned out to be only $0.30 more, so I bought it. I asked the clerk about the poster board I had printed out and he said, "I don't think we even carry that brand." I don't know who was wrong, but it angered me a bit. Also, most of the prices have increased significantly since the merger. Really, most everything was better before the merger. Like the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." read more

Their inventory is not bad, though it is sometimes difficult to find what you need. Don't count on much help from the folks in Customer Service, however. This particular store gets my vote for the store with the worst customer service in the county! read more
