I had a conference room reserved for a couple of days last week and some of my staff flew into town to meet. This location is great proximity to the ballpark and has a beautiful set up inside. It's bright and spacious with conference rooms, quiet areas and a kitchen/coffee area. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did run into a few snags while we were there, we had food delivered several times and every time the delivery person struggled with finding the entrance. It's not well marked and you can walk around the building looking for the right door. I did that upon my first arrival. The coffee machine charges for coffee but was not working properly while we were there, so we had to order Starbucks in. Parking is not included and there is a pay lot next to the building, I would think there would be some sort of validation arrangement but no luck. I would come back because of the great location but would need to plan ahead with some of the other issues.

Also, if I could casually borrow their interior designer for my own home, I would! For those who don't know, WeWork provides shared workspaces for startups and services for other enterprises. They have locations world-wide and each one differs from the next. This is my first time at the Circa Building location and it's definitely my favorite of the ones I've seen. As you enter, there is a huge communal area filled with plenty of varied seating, beautiful decor and a large kitchen-area (stocked with all the goods). There are many membership options, and from what I understand, you can rent the use of just the communal area, otherwise there are tiers to fit the needs of all businesses, big or small. Both the first and second floor are lined with offices that are filled with so many different companies. I think the community vibe is real cool in that you can have your own private work space, or you can mingle and connect with other local workers. Yesterday, there were tacos, wine, and pizza on offer by the end of the day in the big shared kitchen. Things like this aren't an every day occurrence but the point is that WeWork also partners with many other local spots for neat special events and collaborations. Not only is this place a great co-working spot, but a fantastic networking one too! (Consider this my plea for a WeWork to open in my city... Milwaukee!)

The agent was so dismissive like I was interrupting his day. He had no personality. Didn't ask many questions about me, what I was looking for, if I had a pet, nothing! He didn't even introduce himself. I had to ask his name. "Mike". It was incredibly loud in there - noise coming from inside the building somewhere. Like REALLY loud. I asked if there was an event going on. He said not that he knew of. Anyways, he gave me keys and some codes and sent me on my way for a self guided tour. There was in fact a birthday party going on in the community area. The noise just reverberated through the corridors which are so hollow and stale. I couldn't imagine living in a unit remotely close to where that would be happening. While on my tour, there were trash cans outside waiting for pick up. I can only imagine how this would smell after a while on interior hallways with no ventilation. Then a big dog started barking and you could hear it a mile away because of these hallways. No thank you. Not a fan of that layout at all. The apartment was small. I got back and asked "Mike" if he had the dimensions of the bedrooms. He said no, look on our website. I said there's nothing printed with it? No, look on our website. Dude, you could look on the website and let me know. Like, actually do your job and try to rent apartments. He seemed entirely disinterested in renting to me and I'm equally disinterested in renting there. Buh bye.

The weather that evening was nice, so we had the garage door open which gives such an inviting feel. The string lights that are permanently hung in the warehouse add to this great atmosphere. It was a bonus to have a separate room (normally a conference room) for art that was for auction and a wine bar. We even used the phone booths to watch videos in private. I have used a variety of venues through the years both for Reintegra and other events and I don't think I have ever worked with a venue management team that was as easy to work with as Kira and Tom. I highly recommend using this space for all your public events.

Most of the offices have giant windows, cute signage and are decorated with unique personalities. If I was in need of a co-working space, I wouldn't hesitate to look at INDUSTRY. It felt really great in there. It makes me want to invent something and move in. But this review is actually in regards to it as an event space. I attended the Dear Jack Foundation 11/10 VIP Preview night here and was pretty smitten with what a cool space it was. In case you're unaware, Dear Jack is Andrew McMahon's foundation for AYA cancer research and support. The VIP preview night is essentially an acoustic concert and private gathering the night before the benefit. I was a little hesitant about the show being in an open-concept co-working space, but the acoustics were surprisingly good for music. The program had a nice feel to it and it didn't feel too cramped. There was also plenty of parking outside and the valet situation wasn't a hot mess, which is always appreciated. Cool place all around!
