I went here to pick up my ergonomic chair for my home office. It was on sale, purchased it online and was immediately available for pick up within 20 minutes. As soon as I arrived, I didn't know the process behind curbside pick-up. I kinda went old school and went inside the store to inform them that I'm here for a pick-up. (For future reference, now I know how to opt for the curbside pick-up option and click "I'm here".) Either way, Connor (one of the associates) was very helpful in bringing my new chair to my vehicle. Connor was well prepared with their dolly and the entire box of my new chair. At first, I did everything to put down the rear seats to make way for the box. Unfortunately, the box was too big and wouldn't fit in the trunk nor the rear seats. Thankfully, Connor was quick to think of another solution by removing all parts from the box and placing them into the trunk. I also made sure and checked that there were no defects on all parts of the chair. Props to Connor for being a quick thinker and accommodating upon bringing my order to my vehicle. On the side note, I also like that this location is well stocked on school and office supplies. Sometimes you lend things to friends/family that may seem insignificant and a lot of the time, those things don't get returned. Flash drives fit that category to a tee. Last night I needed a flash drive for some TV shows but could not find a flash drive. I usually have 3-4 at my disposal, so I needed to replace some flash drives that have mysteriously not been returned to me. Did a quick online search and after a few minutes found that Office Depot had the best deal. I placed an order for a 2 pack of USB 3.0 32gb drives for $10.99 plus tax. Shortly after the store opened this morning, I received notification that my order was ready for pick-up. I drove over the hill to the Whittier store to pick up the drive. Upon entering, there was one customer checking out and one employee present. After that customer was done, I told the young man that I was there for an order pick-up, he asked my name and promptly went to the shelf to retrieve my order. The process was very easy and I was out of there in less than a minute. Kudos to Office Depot for being so efficient during this time of COVID-19 crisis. read more

I came to this place to drop off my FedEx packages as they were being lost/stolen at the Walgreen on the corner of Whittier blvd and Beach that another story in itself so i come in go to the drop counter and the black guy that works there was super nice took my packages scanned them and printed out the receipts cool right? so next day i come back with more packages expecting the same super-duper service but hell to the nah! i catch a heavy set Hispanic dude who was like" i can only give you a text receipt " I'm like wtf! dude just gave me a printed receipt yesterday! So bobo the clown scans my packages and reluctantly printed out the receipt for the tracking I'm like see your A%#@ could do it! alright so it the very next GD day! I had purchased a chair from this location- around a year ago- I purchased the protection plan as well. You would think the actual seat would be covered in such a plan as its the only reason to buy a chair (300$ one at that) but I am finding out that is not the case and the employee I spoke to concerning that was of zero help- of course when you mention you can buy a chair anywhere else- expecting some sort of loyalty from the business that you have done business with before- nope none forth-came- just silence and bye. All the employees at HH were super friendly and extremely helpful always going the extra-mile to make sure we were taken care of. But, now this is the closest Office Depot. I was in desperate need of having two hundred memorial pamphlets printed before the next day I had called around to several different places And Looked online So I decided to go into Office Depot and the staff immediately was super helpful. Jen was the one who greeted us at the copy and print station. She immediately was trying to figure out how she could help us get them so she called over her associate Ulysses and Albert And they came out with a solution and able to even help with the cost a little so it wasn't so heavy on the wallet. We told them how important this was to our family being that every where we tried wasn't willing to help. Absolutely horrible service. Ordered printing online at 11am, order was 40 color copies on regular paper. The website says it'll be ready in 20 minutes. I go in about 3pm and ask for my order, the woman running the copy and print center was arguing with a veteran about his lost packages and said "that's not my problem". I was next, told her my name and order number and she asked me if my order said "done". I explained, well online it said about 20 minute waiting and been about 4 hours. So I hoped it was done. She tells me that it won't be ready until 7pm and that if I didn't get an email then it's not done. Look in not spots, I know when the clutter generates the order it will print or out can print automatically. No one, and I mean no one was behind me. I asked if she can override the computer to print out or since I was expecting it to be done. Again, that winning personality says "I have other jobs and I'm not going to do your job until it's time". Wow. She was about 5'8", Latina, black hair and thick black glasses. I'm really amazed at her customer service when I was the only one in there! I left to the UPS in whittier... the guy printed it for me in about 4 minutes. I told him what happened and he described the woman exactly! He knew about her. Pretty sad. I'll never ever come here again. What a waste of time. read more

Purchased a laser jet printer that must have been returned. It was missing the black ink and the color toner cartridges were empty. This is a $750+ laser jet printer and the new ink will cost me $400+. I expected more from them...but "nothing they could do since I purchased it longer than 14 days ago." Poor form. Now I understand: called to verify they have lamination services and was told yes. Upon arrival, I show them a lamination project That requires use of the oversized sized laminator. Was told By several employees that they've never used it before. It was suggested to return tomorrow. 1. I am a dad; 2. tomorrow is Father's Day; 3. I am not available tomorrow. I must specify that I DO NOT blame the employees. In fact, I appreciate their honesty. The problem lies in training of employees at this location. Shock and awe... Not because it is different from anything run of the mill, but soooo clean and organized the day i visited. A layout that actually made sense unlike most office supply box retailers (staples, etc.) I get annoyed when staff asks, "can I help you?" I should not get annoyed since that is a good worker, but yes I get annoyed. Located across the street from Trader Joes this Office Depot might be a little hard to spot because of the trees blocking and the parking lot comes before the store so it seems a little bit harder to notice. But close to this is a Mc Donalds and across the street is a Trader Joes which has a very noticeable red sign. This Office Depot for some reason puts the ink behind the counters now and it looks very strange but oh well they got to probably do that because people steal. I think it is a little bit hard to notice how much the inks cost but then again that in general is also a rip off. The reason why it gets three stars is because sometime they do have really good deals on items when you look in the newspaper and some of the clearance items are cut off by half price!!! I also do like the workers here they are very nice and they always want to help you :) If something is too heavy to lift then they will also bring it to your car!!! :) read more

I was just helped by Jessica I dropped off a FedEx package that uses the manual labels and she was able to give me a receipt however her coworkers the guys didn't or won't even try to give a receipt they just tell me they can't do it. Don't believe in the word CAN'T they are just lazy or they don't want to take the time. Not often I drive over the hill from Hacienda into Whittier for printer ink but unfortunately my options are limited. I should had recognized the signs of an empty parking lot that this isn't a popular destination. Didn't take me long to figure out why this store at least at this time of night, past 8pm might be this way. The place was empty with the exception of Office Depot employees who didn't bother to acknowledge me until I "crossed the line"... The ink is behind an invisible line only accessible to Office Depot employees. Not a single sign defines this. Didn't appreciate the store manager Albert bringing this to my attention in an extremely condescending manner. Thinking I won't be back here anytime soon. I got there at 5:50pm 3/14 on a Sunday evening and they had already locked their doors. Not only was I denied entrance but 4 additional customers were denied as I waited and motioned the time to an employee. If they are going to close before 6pm they should repost their business hours to reflect the change. I'll never give business to this location again even if it is in the city I live in. I called the store before coming in and asked if they had what I needed, they did. I was still a little skeptical but asked them to hold the item for me, and to my surprise not only did they have exactly what I needed(for a good price) they held it right up front like they said they would! I appreciate their service and attentiveness. Okay. I am writing this review about the iPhone screen replacement service, not the entire store. I didn't want to do this, but I have to. I broke my iPhone screen. I called to see the price, they are more expensive than Apple care, but were willing to price match, which is why i decided to go in. "Is more convenient than going to the mall" I thought. Wrong!! Go in. Drop off my phone an luckily my husband picks it up. My phone is white with rose gold, well, when they were putting the new screen they realized it was defected so they had to put a black screen on. Made the phone look bad. The issue, my husband says, they were acting like nothing. iPhones are super expensive so you don't want your phone to look like mismatched, plus is not like they offered a discount. So my husband asked them to call is back when they had the right screen in stock to replace my phone and made them put it in writing. I thought my hubby was being a little tough, but anyway I waited for their call. Two weeks later I did not get a call, so I called back had they had the screens in stock. So I showed up without an appt and right away was asked if I had gotten a call. I said no, but that I had called earlier asking I they would have the screen available and told me they did. They were not rude but the guy spoke to his manager for a while and made feel like I was bugging. Again my hubby went to pick it up for me. I was glad he did he noticed the screen had not been put on correctly as was missing one of the screws at the right corner. But this is not what bothered me, the screen is super sensitive and I cannot text easily or the screen goes from letters to numbers. So is not the same. Final say: do not get your iPhone screens replaced here. I am not rich, $150 is a lot and I did expect better service. read more

For some reason I think they make up the rules as they go along about this $30 iHome charger that I just started using not even a week ago and because they don't have it anymore he cannot take it back but they have similar items with the same packaging and he refuses to take it back. I am never ever ever coming back here again it's not the money it's the principle, you're not even taking care of your customers while you have the same brand in a different packaging. To the management, sometimes people buy stuff and don't use it right away then might wait a week to weeks and then they go on vacation and use their portable chargers in this case this happens to me I bring it back and you refuse to do anything for me whatsoever I never asked for money back I just wanted to exchange for the same product. I get printing here each month for my job. For the most part picking things up have been easy. The gal that works at this location that's here more than she's not is really great. She always asks those of us in line, if we are for pick up, so if she's busy, She can step away to hand off what ever we've been waiting for. Today she wasn't there. 4 employees standing behind the print counter talking about the mask mandate and paying zero attention to the line now waiting for help at the counter. They looked over a few times, so I know they noticed. Not one asked what we needed. After a good 10 min standing there, they all but 1 walk away to talk some more down an isle. The guy I believe to have been the manager says to us, " we have self serve available". So my comment back "so I can go behind the counter and pick up my order". He didn't walk up to help. I just moved to the neighborhood and needed some supplies for my classroom and decided to head to the nearest Office Depot. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! One of the worst customer services I have ever experienced. I stood in line for 20 minutes because only one of the cash registers was working and the staff had no clue how to proceed. I had no problem with that, these things happen. The staff only acknowledged that I was waiting after the 20 minutes with a brusque "We'll be right with you". Again not a problem. BUT when another customer got into line behind me and they suddenly were able to help him, pull him out of line and check him out THEN went back to ignoring me still standing in line..... NOOOOO! THATS RIDICULOUS. I asked to speak to the manager and got an assistant who tried to explain to me that the registers were down and the only working checkout device was a handheld device that only took credit cards. Yeahhhhhh no one bothered to ask me how I was paying. No one bothered to explain that to the people waiting in line (me).... What a cop out. I had cash AND credit in my purse, had they asked and not ignored me for the man behind me there would not have been a problem. With the reviews before me and mine, it is obvious that corporate needs to go in and clean house and get people who understand the concept of "GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE". Call the staff at the Norwalk Office Depot, they are awesome and never would have treated customers in such an awful manner. read more

I frequent the copy center here and before I personally started using their services, my store had always been loyal customers for years. We are across the street, so it makes sense. Recently I've had quite a few sour interactions with an employee named who is apparently a "manager". We dropped off a project and picked it up when it was completed... My coworker noticed, after she had already gotten back to our store, that the ORIGINAL was not in the bag with our copies. She called over and Cindy found it, labeled it with our company's name and placed it in the "completed" stack. I went back a few days later to pick up the original (which is only 5"x5"... And takes up no space at all) and drop off more projects... Dee (DeAndra) told me it wasn't there. She said "well, we have a new company policy... If it's left for more than like a few days, we are supposed to throw it out" reaaaaalllly...??? I asked "even if I specifically called and asked you to hold onto it and that I'd be back for it?!?" She said "yeah, it's just how we're doing things now." I highly doubt the company has adopted horrible customer service as their new policy. Whatever, I was half way through the job. I hand drew a whole new one and started from scratch. I dropped another job off that day... And Dee (who has NO copy center knowledge and/or skills) messed up THAT job causing me to have to come back again. NOW, I just got a phone call from Victoria in the copy center telling me they can't do my job unless I pay up front. (ANOTHER "new" policy, supposedly. Bye, Office Depot! Rude, apathetic copy staff (minus Cindy! She's a doll) The grocery store across the street will now be driving two miles to STAPLES for all of our copy needs. read more

I didn't curse or lie about my experience just told truth so not sure what policy of Office Depot review section I broke? Also to date haven't gotten one single call from Office Depot even though I'm composing big time. Here is my story. I ordered a shelf from Office Depot for delivery. The item was five days late. I have delivery on camera throwing my item into front porch. When I asked for a replacement the lady at customer service said okay give us few days and will call you to do a swap. I didn't get a call got an email saying they were coming to pick it up and refund my money. I called and told them I didn't want a refund I wanted a replacement and the lady told me few days earlier no problem. The new lady in the phone said they can't swap it they have to just pick it up and refund money. The pick up driver didn't show for two more days past when supposed to and they finally picked it up. Then they I get knock on door and another driver asking where my item was to pick it up. I told him someone had picked it up already. They can't even get that right. So now I don't have an item I needed that I ordered over a month ago and their return policy says it's up to ten days to get the money back on my credit card. No product and they still have my money and never even an I'm sorry from any people on the phone or anyone from Office Depot. I spend about five thousand or so a year at Office Depot. Not a penny more will I spend with them from now on. Staples has almost exactly the same items for sale. If you value your time and money might I suggest you heed my warning about my experience with Office Depot. read more
