Message on order said to contact office to schedule and pay for the shipment/delivery of my product. No money was taken from my account. 08/02/21 Sent e-mail to David following up. 08/03/21 David would be e-mailing me a quite including crating and shipping. 08/03/21 Received quote from Tina. 08/05/21 Sent email to Tina saying that I was good with it and wanted to purchase. I ordered a repainted panel leg desk from Retro Office through David who was very personable and responsive to emails. They delivered the desk on-time and it is beautiful, with a flawless paint job and perfect hardware. I picked up the order on a Saturday and two very friendly helpers wrapped the table nicely and loaded it into my car for me. Most importantly, the price was hundreds lower than other local vendors, and the quality of the desk and paintjob was A+. not sure why these guys got bad reviews. i had nothing but positive experiences with them. they promptly answered all my emails over a couple weeks of trying to decide what to get. they provided pictures of some of the paint choices & made my options very clear. finally, i called and talked to david about my order: 2 tanker desks, 2 rolling chairs, 2 bookcases, a printer stand & a work table. he noted that the work table was lower than the tankers but he could modify it to be the same level. he didn't have to do that. i didn't know there was a height difference and he solved it for me. he was very patient in all our interactions. the order was supposed to take 2 months but then the coronapocalypse hit. he still got it done, just a couple weeks late but considering the circumstances, i was in no way upset. frankly i was surprised they got it done at all since l.a. was on some pretty oppressive lock down orders. anyway, i eventually got the items & they were all amazing. couldn't be happier. read more

I put in an order to manufacture a desk with this company 2 weeks ago. They quoted me one price, then mid way through production they asked to increase the bill because they cost of the glass was more than they expected. I agreed. This evening, Saturday night... about 30 hours before my store is set to open, Brad... the owner.. text messages me and tells me that i need to pay double the original quote because he is not making money! When I type it in on my iPhone 8, I get a warning that I should go back to previous page as it is an unsafe, "open connection" and my financial info could be stolen. This place has NO BUSINESS being in business. I first approached them about having them restore (paint & replace the top of) my vintage tanker desk. I was originally quoted $450, with a 2-week estimated completion date. 3 weeks after pick-up, (a week after it was supposed to be done), I followed up-- only to learn that not only had the work not been completed, they hadn't even begun. In fact, they claimed they didn't even have record of my order! They then CHANGED THE PRICE to $695 + $65 delivery fee (there was never any mention of this prior). So at this point, it would've COST ME MONEY to even get my own desk back. I just wanted to get it done, so I agreed. 8 WEEKS AFTER the agreed-upon delivery date (10 weeks total), they returned my desk. The work was fine, but sloppy. For example, they screwed the brand name-plate on to the wrong place (the delivery guys and I actually removed it, and because none of us had the proper tool to screw it back in, we were forced to super-glue it onto where it belonged). That kind of thing just shouldn't happen, particularly after overpaying $310 for work 8 weeks overdue. Now one of the drawers is stuck and will not open. I give up. I just wish I'd read the other Yelp reviews first, as it seems this shabby customer service is just their M.O. DON'T FALL FOR IT! read more

We are a repeat customer of Retro Office, and they handled this project horribly. They flaked on picking up the items twice, and responded to none of my emails. After calling in, their sales manager was too busy laughing with his coworkers to fix the issue. They showed up at random times, never when scheduled. They returned items completely damaged and forgot necessary parts. It was horrible trying to get that resolved as well. They also delivered the finished items a couple days past when scheduled, and would not answer any of my emails when I asked to get another delivery time set up, or even find where my items were. It may cost more to go with another company, but it is well worth the cost. I would not use this company if they were free. read more

I ordered some file cabinets from Retro Office, and I will never buy from them again. I ordered 4 file cabinets to be delivered and installed into our filing room. The file cabinets came in a week late. When they finally arrived, they were simply dropped off right inside of our doors and not installed. Each file cabinet weighed a couple hundred pounds, so we had no way to move them. Once we got the cabinets unwrapped, we realized they weren't even the right size that we ordered. When I called Brad, the owner, he refuse to admit they sent the wrong cabinets and forgot to order the installation. He was extremely rude and refused to take the file cabinets back or refund us anything. His staff is just as terrible as he is. This was the worst customer service I have ever dealt with! Now, we are stuck with 4 file cabinets that we did not order. Therefore, under no circumstance would I recommend Retro Office or any of their affiliates. read more
