It took a little bit to get the OfficeMax employee's on board with Fedex ship practices, but these guys were great! One guy in particular (young, light hair with glasses) went above and beyond his duty to help me out. While I was in the parking lot preparing my packages to ship, he continually checked in with me regarding the time and even loaded all my packages up to load into the store. Great service! They say this is the only way they can help me. I asked if they possibly had a store USB, which I have experienced at several other Staples locations. No. Okay, so I send the email and pray it works. While waiting, an older gentleman is asking how to use the fax machine. Instead of the associate walking over to help, which is her job, she shouts at the guy from across the counter. Now, being an older gentleman he didn't quite understand her instructions, so I walked over to help him. Two minutes of my time and the gentleman was helped. With the customer service severely lacking, I wait 9 minutes before an email is shot back to me stating the Staples email is full and cannot receive any other emails. The associates give me a store email to send which pops back stating the document is too large to send to the store email. The ever so helpful associates tell me the only other way would be USB. I asked if they really thought it should be the customer's responsibility to pay for a USB drive to transfer a document given their email is full. Literally a shrug and an overall yes. I'll drive literally anywhere else, even pay more money if I have to, not to go back to this Staples. I have attached the email below showing their inbox was full and could not receive more messages.

I'm looking for something custom, a client recommended this store. It was my day off, so I was wearing my hair up, jeans and a nice sleeveless blouse. My tattoos were showing. Per usual, when I walk into an expensive store I wasn't welcomed by staff. I figured, If I were to walk around looking at different pieces someone might ask if I were looking for anything in particular? I even went to their custom design area and flipped through some fabric swatches, in hopes of someone coming to assist me. The 15 minutes I was there, I was the only person in the store. Not one time was I asked if I needed help with anything. When I left I noticed the numerous awards for "Best of New Bern". I pointed them out to the sales associate, and noted the horrible costumer service, I'd experienced. Her only response was to say that she did say "hi" when I walked in. I'm sorry but that's not good enough for me. They lost out on three custom pieces of furniture today, the only fault is their own.

The point of contact never called her back concerning an event that is being held at one of the local elementary schools in the area. He was abrupt and displayed no level of concern for her need (walking away, etc.). He also attempted to downplay my wife's intelligence by stating that the company only provides marketing for larger businesses (my wife is a local business owner). No worries, because it gets better!!! Today we go into the same office to ask about the pricing of raffle tickets. The gentleman at the register was assisting a lady which seemed genuine. He was attentive and didn't continue to utilize the computer as she was conversing with him. Now, in comes us! We asked a few questions, however, he was short and offered no service to us and even continued to work on whatever task was before him. I'm a person of color that serves my country in the Army and have never felt so uncomfortable in this area. My wife is also of color and is a Professional Home Advisor that serves in the community wholeheartedly. I believe that some European/Caucasian individuals exhibit a level of disparity to people of other color. Not all, but some... We bleed the same blood and will eventually be in a place that sees no color as God is love.... In closing, the main supply store clerk was phenomenal! A $41.99 VGA to HDMI adapter that she will never use? You can buy the same adapter online for $7.99. McAfee anti-virus software for $50? Windows 10 has anti-virus software built in. To make matters worse, they charged her $20 Logitech wireless keyboard and then didn't put it in the package with the new computer. They also included some random computer plug that belonged to a Dell computer, not her HP. How do you mess so many things up? Staples exists solely because they sell overpriced garbage and prey on elderly people and people who don't know better about technology. Save your time and money and talk to your grandkids instead of a so-called "professional" at Staples.
