My old eyeglasses are better than my new ones. Now I have to wait two years because of my Medicare insurance. We are elderly, live on a fixed income and live 100 miles from Rapid City. When I called them to ask if they could recheck the prescription they told me I would have to pay because it was just past 60 days. Between bad weather, subzero temperatures, the long driving distance and getting the glasses rechecked they wouldn't budge on this. I guess that even though western South Dakota is VERY rural, Independent Optical believes everyone lives in Rapid City. They are not flexible and have no compassion. This is their fault. I definitely do NOT recommend them.

The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and their prices beat the big box by 40%. We drove out, paid for the rods in the office, and then drove through the warehouse and wer handed our purchase. It looks like the buy back metals for recycling, but that wasn't our mission for the day so I can't speak to that. When you have metal needs in Rapid City (and who doesn't) I would recommend these fine folks without hesitation.

My sister dropped off some boxes of things on Monday. Unbeknownst to her one was a cannister with…read moresentimental value. I went to Pacific on Tuesday (yesterday) to see if there was any chance I could retrieve the item. The front guy was incredibly helpful and took me to the back. I saw some of the items in the pile sticking out from under a discarded pickup bed. He had the crane hoist up the bed and the item was there, miraculously unscathed.
