Going out of business? I can see why! I stopped in as I saw a "store closing" sign in the window. As I looked at the prices of some of the sale items and even with the discount they were giving for going out of business, it was still cheaper to get some of the items elsewhere (Walmart and Amazon). If you need something for your office or home office, you may be able to get a deal on a desk or chair if you were already looking. As of the first week of January 2026, most of the stuff was 10-15% off so no real savings. Things like stickers were the only things I saw at a much higher percentage. The staff was friendly and I walked up and down every aisle looking for a deal and left empty handed. They said the store was closing in February 2026 so maybe in a few weeks, the sale items will be cheaper. read more

This location is closing this month and almost nothing is left to buy other than the shelves and fixtures. There was one last laptop labeled "Broken" and one remaining Lenovo tablet, both still priced way too high above $125. Though signs indicated discounts of up to 80%, the red pens and accordion folder we took to the register rung up much higher than the advertised discount so we didn't buy them. Place is shutting down, HAs some closeout sales but their prices are so inflated they don't make that much of a difference in most of the desirable items. Employees look sad and downtrodden. and the store is looking more and more bare. Worth scanning for something you may need... Be kind to the employees they look sad. read more

I stopped in here to get a daily planner. While I use calendar on both my computer and my phone, I still like to have a paper one at my side and probably rely on it the most. I stopped in and looked around and saw the prices that I expected, exorbitant. Honestly, the cheapest one there was thirteen dollars and probably comprised a total cost of three or four cents. Well, I do use them and it is for a year, but the one that worked best for me had two left and both were heavily damaged. I asked did they have another to a disinterested team member and was told they could order one and have it shipped there. I actually considered buying it, but honestly could not see paying thirteen dollars for what should have cost me maybe seventy five cents (and that was in pristine condition). As a last resort, I went to Caldor and found an amazing one for under ten dollars, what they were trying to sell for like forty dollars here. read more

A brief stop today just to get an email printed - thank you, Maria! - and I ended up doing a quick circle getting a better understanding of everything available at this Waterford Lakes location. I've used the pick-up option at another location and it was ideal. I was able to speak to the tech specialist onsite and definitely plan to return with my laptop for assistance. The staff are very helpful and I can easily see myself returning for supplies, if in the area. I did not notice as big a Clearance section, but some of the sale items were ideal. One brand in particular stands out - if you've never written with a Tul pen before, you do NOT know what you're missing. read more

My daughter needed a printer for college. We went to three different stores chasing the cheapest printer we could find with what we needed. At the first two stores, we had nice people answer a few questions and we thought we knew what we wanted. So we looked online for where to find our model for the cheapest price, and we went to office Depot. When we got there, the selection was overwhelming so we asked for help finding the model we came for. Stan found what we were looking for and asked if he could answer any questions. He was the nicest and most knowledgeable sales person I have met in a very long time. He asked what we were using it for, how much we were using it and then went into detail about the pros and cons of the different types. He saved us money now and in the long run by informing us on specific prices per black and white vs color copies per page. He informed us of differences in ink prices and how fast we need to replace them. He was not a high pressure sales person, but he just wanted us to chose the best for our daughter. I was in such a rush to print copies of my resume for my interview. I'm driving to the store and I call ahead of time to see if my order had been printed, and I'm told that my card has been declined and the order did not go through. I panicked and asked what can I do to have it printed today and an employee name Will Took his time to direct me where to go and then when I got to the store I only had cash so he helped me purchase a gift card and I was able to get my résumé. If it wasn't for him I would've been late to my interview. Exceptional customer service. read more

an actual terrible experience. went in 40 no tires before closing and every worker was having a bad attitude that i was coming in late apparently. and the man that "helped" me when i tried to print something he told me it would be ready for pickup same day so i walked around the store for a while and cane back and he told me it would t be ready till next day and then he sent it to a store 30 mins away from me and now i have to get it. i don't recommend this is store. very rude. read more

I came in to get an HDMI/USB converter cable to hook my laptop up to a new monitor. Craig immediately helped me. He was very knowledgeable and took his time. He answered all of my questions and went through all of the options with me. He didn't seemed rushed or annoyed at all. The staff was very helpful and were able to help us find the printer paper we were looking for. However, a particular pair of customers we actually found somewhat disturbing--one young lady kept spending an excessive amount of time staring at office supply products (most notably clipboards), while her gender ambiguous companion talked incessantly about placing a safe inside of another safe for extra security. They also acted as though office supplies did not include toilet paper and paper cups and paper plates, and had the audacity to voice their surprise to the rest of the store! :-( The aisles were very clean. The employees here are always very nice. I mostly come here for office supplies that can't be found at target, Walmart, etc. I most recently came here looking for a good white board. The one I initially bought and took home was bent and wouldn't stick on the fridge properly so I had to take it back and exchange it for another one. The employee was very nice and made the exchange quick and painless! Overall, I haven't once had an unpleasant experience at this OfficeMax. It can get pretty busy during the start of the new semesters but it's nothing compared to the way Walmart and target get. read more

I had a phenomenal shopping experience at the Waterford Lakes Officemax today. I shop here a few times a year and stock up on ink and other office/school supplies that I don't typically find elsewhere. I've been looking for an office chair and didn't think to look here because I have come to associate Officemax with a very routine purpose. When I came in today for a $2 purchase of tacks, I saw yellow sales tags on over half the office chairs so I started browsing. I found an incredibly comfortable office chair and bought two for my family's home office. I needed assistance in reaching the actual merchandise and staff: Amanda was readily available. Staff: Shadow safely retrieved merchandise from high shelves while Amanda filled us in on a chair assembly service being offered free of charge for a limited time. Chairs 30% off with free assembly, plus a survey opportunity that provides $10 off my next purchase. Needless to say, it was a productive and very satisfying shopping experience. The employees here are friendly, but the service is still bad. On November 10, I tried to get a printing job done through Office Depot's web portal, and after realizing it charged my card before I could even finish the order form, I immediately contacted them to cancel. Half an hour and two long and frustrating calls later, the order has been cancelled and my money has been refunded. I thought I was done, but today, November 29, I have received no less than three phone calls from the location telling me they have an order from the 10th I need to come pick up. What? I lost my Samsung phone on a Sunday night. The Samsung online locator was telling me that the phone was inside the OfficeMax in Waterford Lakes. When I went to OfficeMax the next day, the Cashier (I think her name was Marilyn), helped me right away. The manager, Jim L., was so accommodating and really tried his best to help me find my phone. We finally found it in one of the shelf in the aisle. Great staff. read more

So I don't expect much from this place but I get really annoyed with the nonstop badgering from it's employees who seem bored to tears. I wouldn't mind so much if they could give you help and not immediately call a manager. But that's a minor issue. The big problem i have with this place is the 15 day return policy. You sold me a faulty printer. I brought it back all you could offer me was store credit. You don't have the best prices I don't really want to shop here. Worst experience ever. I only shop here for ink and now I know why. Store looks like a 70's grocery store. Everything is either worn down or down right dirty. My daughter received a gift (office desk) from her out of state aunt from this place for Christmas. When the desk was delivered we realized it was to big so we took it to the store for exchange. I let them know we do not have the card as it is a present and would like to exchange it for another desk. They brought the new desk to the front and proceeded to do the exchange. They said they needed to do the return first then purchase the new one. I once again told her return it to store credit as I do not have the card and she just pushed buttons and disregarded me and called a manager. The manager Sam came in entered his code without asking her any questions and returned the desk to my aunts card. What a surprise. I told him that I specifically asked her to return it to store credit and he just said there was nothing he can do. So now we walked in with a desk and leaving without one because these incompetent people can't do their job correctly. I now have to get my aunt involved to purchase another desk for her. I wouldn't purchase gifts for anyone from this store cause if they have an issue with it you are going to have to buy it for the person again. read more
